I went to Burn for a much-needed workout shakeup on a free 14-day trial. My sister-in-law works out…read morethere and shed 25 pounds in 3 months! I like the fact that Burn is bodyweight exercise, i.e. calisthenics for the most part, with an occasional dumbell, rope or other non-machine device. It's a 45-minute workout with lots of variety and an encouraging coach. "Group exercise" is generally not my thing... I've always been a loner in the gym--weights, running, etc., but this IS a good program to mix things up a bit. All the days I went, there was only ever one guy in there working out with the girls. And the girls are very supportive. Nice, but probably a little TOO girly for my speed, but great for other women who need a strong support system when trying to get fit. The main downside is that it is SO expensive at, I think, $99/month... maybe even more than that? The only way I'd consider actually joining is if I got a great deal. I think they had a Black Friday deal that I missed out on.

I didn't really care for the male trainer. He tends to pick on certain women about their training clothing. I mean come on, the woman is there to get fit, not to be ridiculed. He's also not very pleasant outside of the class when I went to ask him about prices for a full membership. He made no eye contact with me and kinda brushed me off. Maybe he didn't like me? But the female trainer is fantastic and so sweet! I thanked her on the last day of the month trial that I subscribed to! For those interested, Groupon will have good deals on having a month of these classes. It was a great way to get back into the swing of things after having my second child. I've continued some of the things I've learned at the camp in my current gym routine. I wish prices were a bit lower, though. I can't exactly afford over $100/month. Thanks for getting me on track though!

I messaged OTF via Instagram, got a call back, and was told that my studio would reach out to me in 3-5 business days. It's now been 10 business days, and NOT A WORD. Below is the email I sent to David Long, the co-CEO (and copied owners and managers too). I've been denied a copy of my contract (as have other members). Also see other negative reviews specifically mentioning the manager. _______________________________ I've been a fanatical member of OTF since December 2022. I've participated in every challenge, bought every piece of merch, and even won the Transformation Challenge at my studio in 2023. I share it on my social media, go to studios wherever I travel, and in general evangelize the program whenever I can. I've had amazing results and it shows. After a few years of begging, my husband joined. He attended for a month and needed to cancel. He signed a cancel form on 9/1 at the studio ( I was there) without issue. The next day, the SA Sydney called and was nasty, telling Mike that he had to pay regardless and would not be able to use the classes he paid for. I could not believe he had such a bad experience and asked Marilyn Terry, the manager, to call him. Instead of working with him and resolving the issue, she doubled down on what Sydney said, that he had to pay and could not use his classes, and said she would back her staff over customers no matter what. She then disconnected the call without warning. Yesterday I got a text to update my billing info - and I responded with a text that I would do that - and expressed my concerns about how Mike was treated. I'm at work, so I checked my personal email a few hours later...and had an email from Marilyn that my membership was cancelled and that I was not welcome at any Richmond studio. No mention of cause, warning, nothing.... I've attached all of my correspondence so you can see what I said (named in order - 1, 2, 3) - please keep in mind the email was sent AFTER the text I sent - clearly a move meant to penalize me for expressing my opinion. I cannot believe in 2024, a successful, visible business is run by someone who would retaliate against one of their most visible, successful, positive members in this way. You might also want to reach out to other members who have cancelled - many people have had similar interactions with Marilyn.

First, Let me just say I love the service Glatter Fitness provides so much I did a video…read moretestimonial! I am in the best shape of my life, I am happier, healthier, and stronger. I have no clue what Ariston B is talking about, nor have I seen this person in bootcamp since I regularly attend. I have been with Glatter since January. I am in some of the best shape of my life! I am stronger than I ever thought possible and have lowered some health risks, which before starting were an issue for me. Typically, those that complain of making no improvements are the ones that want a quick fix. They put in little effort and expect drastic weight loss results. You will not get results if you don't show up and/or don't make better eating choices. Likewise people forget that muscle and fat weigh the same. You may never "lose weight" but gain muscle and actually drop pant sizes. Also, it appears the negative reviewer has some type of personal vendetta, she attacks him as a person rather than giving information about the service provided. I would not hold much stock in that. Michael is certified and always answers questions I have rather knowledgeably. He has never once been a "jerk" to me or anyone in any of the classes I attend, morning or evening. He is far more knowledgeable than some other personal trainers I have encountered and can even provide me a source for the information he gives. If you are willing to put forth the hard work, actually come and work out, follow his food guide, you will make improvements. I went from doing push ups on my toes to being able to do one hand push ups. I can lift weights in excess of 140 pounds. I have a smaller waist size and far better endurance. As far as accessibility, he does not limit when you can come, which I love. He has 5 class times throughout the day so it allows for flexibility. I don't foresee any time in the future where Glatter Fitness will not be in my life. When I say I am in some of the best shape of my life, I mean it in every way possible. I owe all this to Glatter Fitness!

*Parents with children with special needs - PLEASE READ!…read more My son was diagnosed with ADHD/Autism two weeks before I registered for camp at the Tuckahoe YMCA. He's very high functioning and has been in the school setting since pre-k. I let them know prior to registering about his IEP plan and some accommodations we have in place. They made it seem like everything was okay! June 2nd was the first day of camp. Why did they politely kick my child out the program? First we talked about doing half days because it was a new environment but when I went to pick him up they basically said let's go ahead & issue a refund! I'm so frustrated but also understand all of the children's safety is the biggest priority! I think the most heartbreaking thing is they didn't give my child a chance to adapt to the environment or modify the camp schedule. They immediately decided they didn't want to work with him. I say this to say don't waste your time sending your children here for summer camp if they have any type of special needs. They will not work with them AT ALL! They didn't give my child any time to adjust. I'm disgusted with this location & the staff here.

Here's my impression after the first week: Signing up for membership was challenging. The price we were quoted over the phone was different than what we were told when we showed up to join. And actually we had an appointment with the membership director and he was on vacation and everyone from membership was gone so one of the front desk attendants gave us a tour. They also gave us a pass to the weekend to make up for the debacle. When we showed up on Saturday we met with someone in membership and that's when the pricing changed because what we were quoted only covered 3 people. So we paid extra for the fourth and our fifth couldn't join because the cost of their membership was too high and she is a student (my daughter). She is 26 so that's why she has to have her own membership. I get it. Also the hot tub and rooftop pool is extra, so be aware. They also have a Recovery area that includes infrared saunas and cold plunge, plus a variety of other equipment. That's an extra charge too, but the first month is free so you can check it out. Other than that miscommunication, it's been pretty seamless. Every staff member I've encountered has been professional and super helpful. Kudos to the center for hiring great people. Any kind of exercise you could possibly want to do is under the roof of acac or at one of their other facilities. The classes and yoga studio is top notch. I've done a few classes and also yoga, signed up for the egym and have used the hot tub, sauna, plunge, etc., and it's all been good. It's only a week in and I feel right at home and motivated to work out every day. I still have so much more to try! I love that I can do something different everyday so I don't get bored. Joining acac costs more but so far it's worth it for us.
