I had an amazing time trying out a barre class at this studio. I learned about this charming spot…read morefrom KavaClub and was so excited to learn about a new-to-me place for barre. Barre is my favorite kind of workout. This studio is super cute. It's one big room with a mirror at the front of class. When you walk in, there is a counter to check-in at and a white board with all the equipment you need for the class that day. It's located in a strip mall so there is tons of easy and free parking in the lot out front. They have one single stall bathroom in the back right corner. They also have a water fountain. Mallory was my instructor for the day and was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She took the time to explain the class to me and suggested I sit up front so it was a bit easier to follow her. This class was a really fun challenge. She played music that matched the movements and I found myself shocked at how fast time went. They have great equipment here so you don't need to bring anything but yourself (no special socks needed for this one). I highly recommend checking out this studio!

This studio may get a higher rating, depending on what you like in a spin studio. I have only been…read morehere once on a free guest pass. The positives: very friendly staff, free shoe rental on your first visit, cold towel at the end of class, easy to book online, conveniently located. The negatives: the class was very crowded (the bikes are practically touching each other), it was so hot and there is one bathroom that had a big line before class because it was the only place people could change. The temperature is the real problem and the regulars said it can get that hot when it's full. If you don't mind the heat, then you will probably enjoy your class more than I did.

My review carried over from the Museum District location to this one. Just updated to say that…read morethis one is just as great, and I'm seriously considering making this a regular spot even with the steep price tag. It's tucked on the ground floor of the Patrick Henry Square Apt building, at the corner of 24th & Marshall- super close to St. John's Church. It's cozy inside- fairly small studio. My class last night was with Amanda and she definitely provided a solid class. Loved the music and the variety of moves on the bike. They finish the class with wet wash clothes that are heavenly!

I have been doing yoga for close to thirty years. probably 40 different instructors or more. Every…read moreexperience left me feeling uplifted and glad I had gone with the exception of the hot yogalaties class at this location. I had been to the location a couple of years before and was happy with it. The problem started at the beginning when the instructor gave a passionate plea to speak up about all the awful stuff going on in the country. I ignored it. To be fair I was happy with the class tempo, music, and degree of difficulty. The class ended with a repeat of political activism and shaming if you might not hold those same opinions. I quietly left class but the instructor was at the desk as I put on my coat. I quietly told her I know she noticed I left early, and that I was used to yogis that left us uplifted with quotes from poets, philosophers , or other yogis. That I felt she was giving a political lecture. She vehemently said " Yoga is political". But i feel it is spiritual not political, or at least should be. I was a drop in so maybe the members like this but if you plan on going to this location just be for warned. I was so put off and mad instead of the feeling of love and peace yoga has brought me over the years.

I don't usually leave reviews (I know I should more for the businesses I love) but felt the need to…read moreafter seeing Stephanie S.'s review. Not only is her review very misleading (because I was there at said class) but she wasn't honest about her behavior (which was embarrassing for her). Every class begins and ends with motivational quotes. Take what resonates and leave what doesn't. Just because something isn't relevant to her life (how lucky) doesn't mean it isn't for someone else. She did not leave quietly, I got to hear her huff & puff and leave class early. I thought that was the end of it but she waited out in the lobby to confront the instructor & raised her voice enough about her Asian American family that came here "the right way" (crazy to assume someone else didn't) that she had to be asked to leave. Now I attend Bruna's class almost every week & always leave feeling empowered & strong. She is an amazing instructor & knows her stuff & I see it every class with how many members love her & look forward to her class. Anyways we love you Bruna & I will always recommend her & all the instructors at Midlo Hot Yoga & Wellness.

I got to try this the first time when my friend was subbing, and she totally kicked my butt. The class was a great workout on a Sunday morning and left me sore for honestly 3 days. She kicked my butt in that class. The second time, I took it with Christy. She was a such a fun and awesome instructor, really enjoyed her a lot! I think with my prior training and cardio workouts got me to keep up with her class and not stay sore for too long! (Thanks Alyssa for the heads up on these classes haha). I love how cute the studio is. Very clean and simple. The decor is small and adorable for the studio and provides pretty much everything that you need. Only need to bring your own towel and water bottle and you're good to go! If I'm actually in RVA during the weekends, you bet your butt I'll be taking a morning class again here!

I would recommend the Groupon because you'll definitely want to go more than once! I had my first class with Christy, the owner, and already have my next two scheduled. The classes are small which is nice after the year we've had and it allows for one on one assistance from the instructor. After a fairly lazy pregnancy and recovery I needed and appreciated the extra instruction! With that being said I was nervous for my first class but Christy made it easy to modify the steps. I was still covered in sweat and burned 500 calories before I left. As a new client I felt super welcome and can't wait to go back!
