I got to try this the first time when my friend was subbing, and she totally kicked my butt. The class was a great workout on a Sunday morning and left me sore for honestly 3 days. She kicked my butt in that class. The second time, I took it with Christy. She was a such a fun and awesome instructor, really enjoyed her a lot! I think with my prior training and cardio workouts got me to keep up with her class and not stay sore for too long! (Thanks Alyssa for the heads up on these classes haha). I love how cute the studio is. Very clean and simple. The decor is small and adorable for the studio and provides pretty much everything that you need. Only need to bring your own towel and water bottle and you're good to go! If I'm actually in RVA during the weekends, you bet your butt I'll be taking a morning class again here!

The classes are small which is nice after the year we've had and it allows for one on one assistance from the instructor. After a fairly lazy pregnancy and recovery I needed and appreciated the extra instruction! With that being said I was nervous for my first class but Christy made it easy to modify the steps. All of the instructors are helpful and willing to break down the motions for you to make sure you're doing it correctly. It's a great full body cardio and strength workout, isolating muscles I was apparently ignoring in my home workouts. You can get the technique down with the first few classes and CityRow offers the first three classes free, which is so generous! There are a variety of levels there every class and I don't feel like I'm judged. Everyone there is so friendly and encouraging. No reason not to try it out!

The staff did a great job walking us through the workout and making sure we knew exactly what we were getting into (which was a lot, in a good way honestly I was getting cooked lol). The setup was really helpful, with screens showing each exercise for the different groups, so it's easy to follow along. Nice atmosphere, genuinely felt the community aspect. Everyone is working hard, getting cooked together, but still encouraging and vibing with each other. It's a fun environment where you can meet people while putting in real work. I've tried different classes before, and I can definitely see myself incorporating BFT into my routine more often. Great first impression, great staff, and challenging workouts. If you're looking to push yourself, train for something like Hyrox, or just get fitter and step into your fitness era, this place will absolutely get you sweating.

I'm the kind of guy that wants to learn how to do something the right way, even it's just a hobby. A few people directed me to Eric and from the first lesson you will understand the passion he has for the sport of boxing and technique. There is almost a pinch of OCD in doing things the right way, and he lays the fundamentals down and we begin every lesson by making sure we go through them again. I am only 4 or 5 lessons in, but in each one I have tested myself mentally and physically. I am an extremely small and not in-shape dude, but Eric pushes me to get out of my comfort zone and give it all I have. Let me put it this way, the ring of a bell has never been such a sweet sound. (We train in timed 3 minute "rounds"). I recommend Eric and Vintage Boxing to anyone at any level that wants a great workout, but also has interest in learning the sport of boxing.

Barre is my favorite kind of workout. This studio is super cute. It's one big room with a mirror at the front of class. When you walk in, there is a counter to check-in at and a white board with all the equipment you need for the class that day. It's located in a strip mall so there is tons of easy and free parking in the lot out front. They have one single stall bathroom in the back right corner. They also have a water fountain. Mallory was my instructor for the day and was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She took the time to explain the class to me and suggested I sit up front so it was a bit easier to follow her. This class was a really fun challenge. She played music that matched the movements and I found myself shocked at how fast time went. They have great equipment here so you don't need to bring anything but yourself (no special socks needed for this one). I highly recommend checking out this studio!
