I've been going here for years and generally love it. There are some opportunities for improvement…read morethough: (1) There is only one rowing machine. 1 out of every 2 times I want to use it, I either have to wait on someone else or someone else has to wait on me. I've requested another rowing machine on their periodic email survey multiple times, to no avail. I wouldn't be surprised if the one rower disappears one day due to the gradual takeover of CrossFit equipment. (2) There's very little open space thanks to a gradual but steady takeover of CrossFit equipment. You have to weave around people and weights, which is a hazard, just to get to the cardio area. (3) They don't seem to do much upkeep of the treadmills. The very same treadmills have been off (e.g., too loud of a sound when you run on it, indicating parts need replacing) for years. It makes me wonder if they've replace any of the belts or done other standard maintenance that is important for ensuring the machines stay lower impact & true to the speed indicated on the screen. (4) I've never seen staff cleaning the machines. I used to work at another gym and it's good practice to have staff clean a few types of machines each hour on a rotating basis. This is particularly important since many patrons don't clean after themselves, and patrons don't (nor should) clean parts of the machine they don't personally touch like the base.

I'm a paying member from College Park MD and was here in Richmond on a work assignment. I parked my…read morecar outside and it ended up getting towed during the hour that I was inside working out. Come to find out, members have to have a parking sticker on their car or else they'll be towed. They don't communicate this effectively AT ALL other than a piece of paper at the front desk that has small text stating you may be towed if you don't have a parking sticker (in a long paragraph) and they expect people to come in and immediately read it and ask for a sticker? I'm not from the area and because of them not being more communicative about it, I have to pay $195. The female manager who I spoke to after gave a terrible attitude and said it's not her responsibility that I didn't pay attention to the sheet and that's the best they can do to communicate it. BS! You should know out of state members would have no clue and when we first arrived and said it was our first time there, you should immediately mention the parking sticker! Just terrible management here and communication. The gym also is not very appealing when inside and has a weird layout. Definitely not coming back to this location smh

This was an event that…read moreinstructed us on how to properly perform various strongman movements and to try out some unique movements. We had an absolute blast and now we are both preparing for our first Strongman competition in August. Without this experience, we'd never have felt comfortable doing anything like this. The atmosphere was pure motivation, fun and high energy. We will be back. Count on it. Thanks, Coach Sean Murphy!

What is this place? I have never heard of it until I stumbled across an ad on Facebook. Initially,…read moreI doubted it because it looked scammish but I went ahead and provided a contact number. The ad stated limited spots so it was a sign that people were signing up and when I clicked on the link, it appeared as if there weren't any left.. However, I was fortunate and received a call back. Again, I was skeptical because FB ads are tricky and that's to the general look of ALL ads I saw on FB. I was contacted a day or so after directly and appointed a time to have a consult. The place was tricky to find but it's tucked away where other warehouses are and sporting facilities. Who knew there was an area back there. Anywho, after consulting and learning about the type of exercise, the time offered, and discussing my goals, I went ahead and signed up. Again, I was very hesitant because I was nervous about group exercises and fearful of appearing unfit or ashamed but I took a leap of faith and said , Yes! Jumping ahead, the people are SO welcoming and the trainers are absolutely supportive and very easy to speak to. Yes, they encouraged me to push hard but it was the kick in the butt I needed. The coaches were never pushy, they were attentive to my limits and personal goals. Lindsay and Sean were who conducted the classes and they both complement each other well in terms of personality and gym environment. Pricing.. yes it can be viewed as expensive but it is not quite different in comparison to the amount you would spend on a personal gym trainer. Now if you're looking for more of a gym such as Crunch or YMCA where you are mainly independent or have a different fitness focus, then you may doubt membership here. This gym is VERY diverse in workouts, uses body exercises, and lifts. Each day offers something different and that is why I absolutely have yet to be bored from it. The workouts are challenging but you are never asked to go beyond your comfortable limits both physically and emotionally. The gym itself is just very fun, cool, and casual. They have a range of equipment from weighted balls to squat racks. If you like the pump, the burn, and sweat I believe you will enjoy the experience. Nutrition advice is offered as well and more independent plans if wished for. The facility has been open for I believe 6 or 7 years now which is a fantastic sign. The vibe is very familyistic and everyone truly is impacting. I would recommend the place to all of my friends and family just to at least give it one day's try. Anywho, I love it!
