I am extremely upset with the treatment I received at this Burlington. When I asked to use the restroom, an Asian female employee told me twice that it wasn't open to the public. Then she said I had to wait until the other customers were done -- even though there were at least six open stalls available. At the same time, I saw other customers being allowed in without any issue, which felt very unfair. When I finally was able to use the restroom, a white female employee came in immediately after me as if to watch what I was doing. That was humiliating and made me feel singled out and racially profiled. On top of that, as I exited the store, I could hear employees talking about me behind my back where I could clearly hear them. This behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional, and disrespectful. No customer should ever be treated this way. I was in the store yesterday. Just have gotten off work. & stopped by in hopes to find just one of the items I've been hoping to find. The women usually Marina.. or some other slender women bringing out the blankets was hiding blankets in other areas; then went & put a few on hold. In the front for one of their friends who will be getting off work... I've called before asked to put items on hold & have always been told "we don't do that" however I don't have an friend who WORKS at Burlington & is making up rules... Location is not in the best of area for Stockton. There is security at location. Pretty big store, messier during the holidays possibly with everyone going though things. We were able to find quite a bit for this holiday season for the kiddos. Limited on shopping baskets. The line was literally wrapped around an aisle and half BUT it moved fairly quickly with all of the hired winter help at hand. There was a shoplifter that ran out of store as well with item in hand. The #1 focus of any business should be the customers. Standing in line with about 20 or more people waiting to be checked out, with one cashier is unacceptable. Meanwhile, other store employees are hanging clothes etc... The poor cashier asked for help several times while cashing out a layaway but no help. Anything on the floor can wait. Take care of your customers, acknowledge them, and apologize for not having staff available to assist them. Maybe people wouldn't be so upset if they knew you cared. So much to unpack it is hard to know where to start. I went to this store looking for a specific skirt that my mother had seen on a previous visit days before. She warned me about "the line", but I didn't think anything of it. I walked in , found the skirt in less than 2 minutes, turned and saw it... THE line! There was one cashier... 45 minutes later I neared the front of the line to witness the cashier call for a manager to assist a customer with a return. This manager took care of the customer and promptly left the register area. I have worked retail for 16 years... managers can and should work registers when the line is over an hour wait (it got even longer behind me). Kudos to the awesome cashier going as fast as she could. "3 1/2 stars" Went here today just to browse! Wow, this place is like Mervyn's or Kohl's on steroids! Acres and acres of coats and jackets....I saw up to size 5X !! The selection of strollers looked like the stroller parking areas at Disneyland. Check out the photos........... Lots of linens, shoes, household stuff... clothes for any member of the family. I was in Burlington looking for clothes in the women's plus section and I use a walker due to my disability. I couldn't even go down the aisles with my walker because they were too narrow. I was so disappointed that it was impossible to shop for myself. I had NO problem throughout the store in other departments. Just wish they would follow all ADA law requirements in their store so that others with disabilities can shop with NO PROBLEM!!!! read more

I've never been to Burlington before, so I was amazed at the amount of selection they had in their Baby Depot. So where does this Burlington fall short? The staff. One of the baby robes I picked out did not have a tag, so one of the employees was able to retrieve another robe for me within five minutes. Long story short, I didn't get the robe, but that's beside the point. I was at the register for 20 minutes, for no good reason! The employee ringing me up kept spacing out and socializing with his coworkers who also weren't doing anything but standing there and laughing. In between talking to them he would tell me "I have to do this, I have to do that, I'll be a sec", "hold on I need to write this information down" and "is it just me or did y'all here that noise?" This guy kept spacing out on us and took his sweet time doing things he didn't have to do at that moment. All he had to do was ring me up, take my money, and give me my receipt. But nope. This whole "ordeal" took 20 minutes. I honestly would not doubt the fact that he was high. I came in the next day (Saturday afternoon) to return all the items I bought and to my surprise the staff during that shift was professional in comparison to the staff I encountered the day before. read more

Never been to Burlington and when i did. I went kinda a little but over board with being a-lot of items ha. When it got time to pay and leave . I was stop at the door by their employee and ask to leave the cart and walk out with a-lot of items. Thats horrible. Are they lazy to get the shopping carts outside or the fact that they think homeless are going to take their carts. I really enjoy going here because I always manage to find some pretty good things for some even better deals. Today however, I encountered a very interesting situation. The young lady, Serina, who rang my mom and I out, was very rude and unprofessional. Not to mention her use of foul language and her concern in regards to the lack of hours she was receiving. Word of advice, from one retail employee to another -- Leave your personal conversations and work gossip with coworkers for your break, and not out for your customers to hear. If I could give no stars I would. Michael was the rudest person I have ever uncounted. He should not work with people he should be in aback room with the attitude he has. I don't know if it was a racial thing because I'm African American but he was rude to me for no reason. I simply asked him if I could return something with my receipt but it was over the 30 days and he told me that he was not going to do it and that there was no one else that I could talk to he was the highest manger there was. The store manager Renee J, as it says on receipt, is very unprofessional. Went in to cancel a layaway and she quickly told us it was expired already and shoved the receipt back at me. When I asked if I got any money back she said "I dont know!" and took the receipt, scanned it, scanned a merchandise card and handed it back all without a word. Worst Burlington ever! I bought a jacket for my grandfather and didn't know it was damaged on the sleeve and went to the store to return it the next morning. The managers Alex & Mike did not want to return it because it was damaged. IT WAS DAMAGED IN THERE STORE! I had the receipt and my debit card and they still wouldn't take the jacket back! I had worked for Burlington and we returned damaged items all the time! Even the worker who first helped me said they take damaged items back, so OBVIOUSLY ALEX AND MIKE HAD A PERSONAL PROBLEM. This is for the Burlington Coast Factory In STOCKTON!.. Customer service is horrible! I don't think they care about the customer at all. The workers there, no one greet me at all. The worker jus stay around and gossip about other worker and customer, yelling at each other, very unprofessionally and rude behavior.
