Use it or lose it I'd say lose it!!!! Went to the shoe department to buy a birthday gift. Typically the girls open the boxes up and show you the shoes and make sure they're the same size. This time the girl didn't open them at all. She just gave us the box rung my husband up and we walked out. By the time we got home which was 45 minutes away I opened the box up, and the shoes were dirty and had been used. The white souls look like they had been walked in the dirt with. When I called the girl back, she acted so nonchalant as if it happens. Those were her exact words oh, I'm sorry, it happens. I can only imagine what this girl's feet look like and if she wears dirty shoes and is OK with it. I had the worst retail experience I have ever had in my 41 years. I bought a Coach tiger beaded tabby purse, and a Coach snake beaded Tabby purse. The tiger had a loose bead and thread, and the snake had loose thread. When I tried to return them, they said no to the tiger, because I used it once even though it was clearly defective. And they wouldn't even let me return the snake, even though I never used it. I spoke to the store manager, Marissa, who told me to call corporate. They said I could send the purse in to the Dillards warehouse. However, I don't even know if I could send it there because Marissa without my permission colored the proof of purchase sticker with red marker. She did that to both purses. I do not recommend buying any Coach purses from Dillards or any product in general. They do not value the customer, and if you notice a defect after you remove the tag, even if you save everything, they won't return it even when it's well within the 30 days. So if you buy a defective item unknowingly because you didn't notice the defect at the time, they will not honor that return. I don't know of any store where they can get away with this kind of fraud. I will never purchase anything from Dillards ever again online or otherwise. read more

Walking in this store feels like you stepped back into the year 1995. This store does have a great assortment of clothing and shoes, for both men and women. My husband prefers Dillards men's over Macys any day. Customer service is excellent, never had any issues finding employees or checking out. It's very hard to find any decent clothing in the Central Valley. Shopping usually means a drive to the Bay Area, or Roseville Galleria. The beauty department could really use an update. It's very dark and half of the counters just look old and dingy. Dillards please update this store!! If it was brought into the 21st century, this would be the best store in the valley. read more

This is the nearest Dillard's to the Bay Area and it's pretty much just your average anchor store that fills up a medium sized mall. In terms of the location this place is pretty much ideal because it's in the part of Stockton that leads to a big road (Hammer Ave). If you want to explore the rest of the mall, Dillard's is the place to go. I saw the women's shoes section, about half of the shoes are on the meh side and are not that good looking. Feels like they are made carelessly. The clothes are not as good as Macys too. Drawbacks: The prices here are much more higher than Macys so if you are broke the best idea is to avoid buying anything here. The workers that are here look very stony and pretty much disinterested in their job. If you want the Spirit Airlines of retail then you pretty much found it here. read more

Dillard's has a great selection of men's, women's, and children's clothing. They also have a decent selection of big and tall men's clothing. The cosmetic department has great sales people, especially Clinique. I can usually find what I'm looking for. They have good inventory! Stockton is lucky to have this department store in a time where others are closing. read more

Pricey place to shop but have good sales and quality name brand merchandise. Sad they didn't have their traditional New Year's Day sale but it is what it is and I understand as it gets crazy packed. They carry designers (free people, Vince Camuto, Antonio Melani, Calvin Klein) women's clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, etc. They do have occasional sales with considerable price reductions. My favorite sections are the social dress, shoes, and accessories. They carry varying dress styles (formal, cocktail, work, casual) in juniors and women's sizing. The inventory increases during prom season. Quality material, beautiful designs, and unique styles. The main shoe department is for women while the men's shoes are located in menswear. Tons of women's styles and brands from the fashionable nonsensical stilettos to comfort walk abouts. The accessories are right next to the shoe department. Belts, hats, scarves, shawls, clutches... The first thought that comes to my mind when I think of Dillard's is elegance, a very well put together outfit that is in the now with all the latest fashion trends. Sure it's pricy, but you know they're pieces that will last awhile and will look very presentable as well! A couple weeks back I stopped in to pick out some jewelry to go with my bridesmaid's dress for my sister's wedding. The woman who assisted me was very helpful with finding a bracelet to match the chandelier earrings I chose, on wedding day after wearing it my wrist being so tiny, it was a bit big, but it went with my bridesmaid's dress perfectly! As well as the earrings, although I had to switch the earring backs with another pair I had on since the earrings fell off of my ear lobes whenever I walked. I would recommend checking out this store, they have everything you need to make your celebration or date night out a memorable one, I'll be back despite the mishap! read more

8/18/2019: If I had to choose which Dillard's I would shop regularly, it would be the Reno Store location because this location didn't have the top brands' inventory merchandise like the Reno Store. In fact, I was clearly disappointed by the merchandise displayed, the lack of sizes, and the styles weren't top designer brands like the designer brands I noted at the Reno location. I walked throughout the entire store thinking the store is a "B" Store almost "C" Store inventory with more repeating displays which was a complete turn-off! I shrugged my shoulders and sighed wondering why I wasted my time visiting this Dillard's Store location. I took one photo and one photo only: That's how bored I was shopping at this store. Sad. I received an offer for bra sizing with Wailcol (a bra brand. I know I spelled it wrong). I scheduled my appointment for 12:00 pm. I received a call in the morning from Mary (manager of lingerie department) to confirm my appointment. She said I could bring a friend. Good!! Because I was going to anyway. Both of us had recently lost weight and were swimming in our bras. My friend had gone to a Secret place a month or so ago to be fitted. And spent a lot of $$$ and they don't fit properly. Mine were several pounds ago. We got such amazing fittings from Mary. She is an excellent Manager, also excellent with her customer service. In all my years of life I have never had a bra fitting that was so good. 5 points that need to be precise in the fitting and Mary did just that. For 20 years I have been shopping at Dillards and I have nothing but accolades for products, customer service, store appearance, pricing and great sales (especially shoe sales!). I also shop online and have always received products timely and well packaged, Never had a bad experience returning items. Why? Because I followed the rules for returns. Sometimes I have had issues finding sales staff but I walk around until I locate a salesperson. Not a problem! As we all know, retail is having its problems these days with short staffing, thievery, and price escalation. Nice store, and well priced if you're willing to spend, which I am, or was. Drove from out of town to check it out with the family. My intention was to seek out some good Men's fragrances. I've sampled around at Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom, so I assumed that clearly Dillard's would be a walk in the park. The first impression was good. Clean aisles, stocked items, clean restrooms, so far so good right? So why the low ball rating? I was really interested in sampling a few men's fragrances, the 1st Lady to help me was a bit older but very polite and patient. However, when I started asking for other items she handed me off to a 2nd lady, maybe the First Lady thought the other was more versed, I don't know. So I move on to this next employee. She was about in her mid 40's and dressed like she was going to a club. But this 2nd lady, when I tell you she was throwing Bleu De Chanel EDP down my throat like a brat, it's an understatement. I said upfront that I've tried it before and I wanted to see other options, but she obviously had a low opinion of me due to the fact that I did NOT think this was the greatest thing I've ever put up to my nose. She soaked a card it in and then my hand as well. And I humored her anyways. I kindly said, I'm looking for something different, less woody-- Oh! This HAS THAT!!!! I understand, but I like more leathery and citrus-- BUT THIS HAS THAT TOO!!! At this point she's wide eyed and I can tell I could cook an egg over her head, even through the mask. She was somehow offended??? I calmly say, I want something a bit more complex, this just isn't what I'm looking for. She started talking at me at this point and said well you've got to let it dry on your skin and then you'll see what I mean. She then stomped off and sighed out loud, all super harshly like a 13 year old drama queen --!!!!I'M GOING TO THE RESTROOM!!!-- She stormed passed my wife and son and they look at me like, DAMN!! The First Lady then stepped back in and kindly continued in showing me a few more fragrances, so she's the reason I'm not completely throwing out the notion of being a customer in the future. My wife tells me later as we're leaving the store, Wow, why did she get all mad for? But as a first time experience here at Dillard's, I'll have to motivate myself to think twice. We had been to their Reno store and we weren't let down. The place was busy. They were having a 40 percent off sale but I doubt that was why there were so many shoppers. I'm not much of a department store shopper and I don't shop at Dillard's as often as I used to. But I do like that they have such a large women's shoe department and a good cosmetics department as well. However, this review is based on my recent curbside pickup experience. Yikes! My brother (who lives in San Diego) placed an order online for me to pick up at the store. He even called the day before and let them know it was ok to release the package to me. When I got there, I parked in the designated spot and called the number provided in the e-mail. A very harried and confused sounding person took my information and said someone would be down with my package in a bit. About 15 minutes later I got a call saying there was a problem and they couldn't release the package to me because I wasn't the one who ordered it and they had tried calling my brother but he did not answer. So I called my brother and told him that he had to call them again. He called them but wasn't given any further instruction. So I called again and asked if they had spoken to my brother and whether or not they were going to release the package to me. The response-Oh yeah, he called but the girl who brings down the packages is gone so it will be a while. I waited about 15 minutes and still nothing so I called AGAIN. No answer. About 5 minutes later someone finally came down with my package. Long story short...I called my brother, thanked him for the gift and told him to never do that to me again. read more

I ordered a few dresses to try on for my son's wedding. I returned all but one in one package. The last one looked promising. The picture was very misleading. It fit well, but it seemed long- the one in the picture was NOT. I brought it to the wedding in a plastic bag on a hanger along with a backup dress I didn't like nearly as much. Once there, I tried on both with my new shoes- I did not have time to do so beforehand. The dress was still way too long and would've dragged, so I wore my backup. I put the dress back in the plastic and brought it home and sent it back before the return date closed. It showed up back at my house without any notes on it. When I called, they said it had been worn and damaged on the bottom. I never saw such notes or justification. It was untrue. I looked at it again still in the plastic the way I'd sent it, and there was no damage, and I asked them if they'd even smelled it. It was still the store smell. I never wore it. I tried it on. I have pictures of the wedding and the dress I wore that I offered to send. They just said no. That was almost $200 that I lost. I am a retired teacher. I don't have that kind of money especially after the wedding. It is terrible business practice to send a returned item back with no explanation. It is criminal to accuse a person incorrectly of damaging something never worn. I am astounded at this and disappointed. I do not recommend ordering online from Dillards to anyone. I am splashing it all over social media and to everyone I come into contact with. read more

Great ladies shoe selection but service seems to be severely lacking. Been several times this summer and have not been greeted or asked for help. Will stick to Macys least they have regular sales and coupons. They also have a crazy return policy that you have to return within 30 days. Huh? What department store does this? Like I said in my tip, they have an awesome shoe department. I have bought several shoes from them, and for women that love heels or sparkly shoes this is the place. Trouble is the customer service is severely lacking. Not enough sales people to help you and the ones that are there seem disinterested in helping or give you an attitude if you have to return something. Love coming to Dillards and the stores all around for a decade! Time seems changed I had a rude encounter with one of the workers in the perfume department her name is Tina I believe. She stopped my daughter and I to ask if we were interested in some new thing I told her I'm in a rush and Tina really tells my daughter the same thing I look at her again and walk away. Tina says behind my back to her coworker that look like James Charles of Stockton something like "she didn't have to be rude , love. Makes me want to give her a perfume for free to smell better than how she look" and the gay entity proceeded to laugh. This was my first time purchasing from this store and the customer service is horrible here. Just got off the phone with supposedly the only employee working and got treated horribly. Her name was Lily and was rude, for absolutely no reason. She told me speak with the manager at 2:30pm then stated call back in an hour and 30 minutes. She definitely got upset when replied saying so 30 minutes not an hour and 30 minutes and then she cut the phone on me. I called back and she refused to pick up because the phone kept ringing until the last ring. Throughout both calls she was giving a ton of attitude while I was being nice and respectful. I was there earlier today and these are crazy times in the world, yet the gentleman who helped me was super friendly and helpful in finding my size. If I could give 0 I would. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT SHOP HERE. Especially for baby items. I had purchased and infant carseat for my unborn child, and they sent the wrong color. I called customer service and was on the phone and said hey I haven't opened anything yet but the sticker is reading that its beige but its in a gray color sticker and the nuna label says hazel wood. She assured me to open the box to verify I was hesitant and asked several more times as I didn't want to be unable to return it. She assured me again so I open it and its the wrong color all together. So I tell her she says no problem let me get you over to returns. Perfect.. Until returns get on the phone I start to process and she asked a bunch of questions then asked if I opened it. I said yes per your representative she told me to. At that point she had stopped and said NOPE no returns on open boxes. I explained that I was just transferred from customer service WHO TOLD ME TO OPEN IT. She was now rude and said there's nothing we can do you opened it. All I wanted was the correct seat I had ordered for my son. That's it. I fought with Dillards for over 2 1/2 weeks and they were all rude and condescending like it was my fault they sent the wrong one. And refuse to help in ANY WAY. Please take your business elsewhere. Does anyone know the fitting room policy here? Went in yesterday to look for some new clothes. I shop in the men's department. I am a female and I wear men's clothes. The women's department is upstairs, so why would shop for men's clothes and drag all of them upstairs to go the women's fitting room? I never thought to do that, and I've never done that in the past. So I went into the fitting room in the men's area, to try men's clothes on, and an employee knocked on the door. She told me I had to leave because females are not allowed in the men's fitting room. I tried to find their company fitting room policy online, but to no avail, of course it is nowhere to be found. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I won't be shopping here anymore, I left the clothes in the room after she knocked on the door telling me I had to go. Then she has the audacity to ask me where the clothes are I was trying on. Like really??? You expect me to make the effort to go put the clothes back you told me I couldn't try on in the men's department? Uh, sorry...earn your money and you can clean them up yourself.
