Does anyone know the fitting room policy here? Went in yesterday to look for some new clothes. I shop in the men's department. I am a female and I wear men's clothes. The women's department is upstairs, so why would shop for men's clothes and drag all of them upstairs to go the women's fitting room? I never thought to do that, and I've never done that in the past. So I went into the fitting room in the men's area, to try men's clothes on, and an employee knocked on the door. She told me I had to leave because females are not allowed in the men's fitting room. I tried to find their company fitting room policy online, but to no avail, of course it is nowhere to be found. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I won't be shopping here anymore, I left the clothes in the room after she knocked on the door telling me I had to go. Then she has the audacity to ask me where the clothes are I was trying on. Like really??? You expect me to make the effort to go put the clothes back you told me I couldn't try on in the men's department? Uh, sorry...earn your money and you can clean them up yourself. I thought Dillards was a nice place to shop and I guess that's what I get for assuming. I've shopped here for years, but now I don't even feel comfortable being inside Dillards at all. Came to this store last year with my 7 year old at the time. We were looking in the purse section because I wanted a new Kate Spade wallet. As we are browsing one of the women that worked in the purse section followed my daughter and I around the area. I had a mini back pack on that I could barely fit my wallet so I wasn't sure why she was following us around. As we are looking security comes and he stands at the exit closes to the purse section. As the lady continues to follow us around I get irritated and asked her if I could help her. She said no and continued to follow us. She never once asked if she could help me. I was interested in purchasing a wallet but said I will take my business elsewhere. As my daughter and I are walking to the exit the rent a cop security guard starred us down. As we were close to the door the security walks away probably to harass somebody else. I loved coming to this store to shop for my daughter. Their kids clothes are nice and reasonably priced as well as their designer bags and shoes. It's sad that in 2019 you can't walk in a store without being racially profiled. Yes I said it!!! Racially profiled!!! I will never step foot in this store ever. The people at the makeup counter even gives dirty looks. It funny because I never been inside the mall. If I could give 0 I would. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT SHOP HERE. Especially for baby items. I had purchased and infant carseat for my unborn child, and they sent the wrong color. I called customer service and was on the phone and said hey I haven't opened anything yet but the sticker is reading that its beige but its in a gray color sticker and the nuna label says hazel wood. She assured me to open the box to verify I was hesitant and asked several more times as I didn't want to be unable to return it. She assured me again so I open it and its the wrong color all together. So I tell her she says no problem let me get you over to returns. Perfect.. Until returns get on the phone I start to process and she asked a bunch of questions then asked if I opened it. I said yes per your representative she told me to. At that point she had stopped and said NOPE no returns on open boxes. I explained that I was just transferred from customer service WHO TOLD ME TO OPEN IT. She was now rude and said there's nothing we can do you opened it. All I wanted was the correct seat I had ordered for my son. That's it. I fought with Dillards for over 2 1/2 weeks and they were all rude and condescending like it was my fault they sent the wrong one. And refuse to help in ANY WAY. Please take your business elsewhere. Pottery Barn Kids was SO HELPFUL and ill be shopping there from now on. read more

It was my first time here & the only time I heard of this place was when I was asking my friend where they bought their gowns they wore for the Golden Anniversary of their parents. It was 11/2 hour drive from my place. My son is getting married this coming Oct. so I was looking from the formal Dept. I tried few burgundy gowns. First impression was all the Sales rep. were into themselves. Busy talking to each other or into their Cp. Especially, this Pinay @ the Gown Section. Tonight, only couple customers. But when I walked by she didn't even acknowledge me. We are both Pinay but she was very rude not saying anything if I need help. I was disgusted that I went to dressing room w/ 4 gowns in my arms costing up to $300. I left the dressing room & came to find out I forgot my jacket that I need to go back ......Sale Rep. were busy chatting. read more

I came to Dillards to buy some shoes! I found a pair of shoes and I was waiting in line at the register to see if they had it in my size and a woman, who did not speak English, was buying four pairs of shoes. The total came to $166 and some change....so the customer gave the sales person (I think her name is Crystal) $206 and some change. The sales person did not understand what to do and tried to give the lady back her six dollars and change and told her she would take it out of the $200! The customer could not explain it to the sales person so I was trying to help explain it to the sales person. The sales girl just did not get it so I told her to take the $206 and the change and enter it into the register and that the register would tell her what to give back to the customer! It was obvious that she did not want to listen to me and so she entered $200 into the register and was so confused and tried to give the lady back the wrong change! she was nasty and became very snippy with me and told me I was not nice! I was trying to be a Good Samaritan and thank goodness the lady who could not speak English kept turning to me and saying "thank you", "thank you"! Finally the sales girl called the store Manager. He told me that she was new! (I guess they don't train employees at the register very well) I told the store manager to look at the receipt to see what the customer was trying to do. He figured it out and the customer went on her way! The same sales girl then came back out and I handed her the shoe and told her what size I wanted and she disappeared for 15 minutes oON PURPOSE! finally someone else asked me if I had been helped yet and I said yes but I've been waiting for 15 minutes and she apologized and helped me! After my purchase I went up to talk to the store manager to tell him that I did not appreciate this young sales persons nasty attitude! I told him "whatever happened to the customer is always right"? He was nice and agreed with me but it is not doing Dillards any good by hiring nasty sales people with attitudes! Also, they need to teach their sales people how to give back change and how to count it correctly while handing it to the customer! I like shopping at Dillards because the store is normally very organized and clean but on this visit the other day I found racks of clothing all over the place and everything was in disarray! Dressing rooms are blocked by chairs and funny signs signaling that they are closed! Also dressing room carpets are dirty and the paint is old! Dillards needs to work on their organization, cleaning carpets and putting new paint as needed as well as better training for their employees! read more

On Sunday 1/16/22 I went to the women's department to look for a classic coat, dress etc. A nice salesperson named Brenda assisted me in choosing the right fit, colors. I really appreciated her help she made my shopping experience alot easier. She even steam ironed some creases that the coat had, which made the coat look much smoother. Hats off to her! Another save by Dillard's! To welcome in the Holiday Season, we are having a "12 Days of Christmas" celebration at work. Each day one group of employees or teachers will bring something edible and festive to share with the staff. Creativity with the display is encouraged. Fun! I'm a part of "the third day of Christmas" group. We decided to bring three kinds of yummy breads. I'm going to make some pear bread. It's really yummy! Anyway, the three of us started thinking about how to display our delicious baked goods. I suggested a 3-tier server. I love how they highlight each tasty treat. Unfortunately none of us had said 3-tier server. Mission accepted. I looked EVERYWHERE in town for the server. Alas, after stops at Macy's, JC Penney's, Keller's, Bed Bath and Beyond, TJ Maxx, Target, Cost Plus, Pier One and so on and so forth, I had no 3-tier server. :( Then I had a revelation. Dillard's! I checked their website and low and behold the most perfect 3-tier server was featured. Plus it was on sale for only $19.99! Gotta love a sale. I called the Stockton store to see if they had it in stock. Carol assured me they had several in stock and agreed to put one on hold for me. Needless to say I zoomed on up there and my server was waiting for me. Yay! Now the third day of Christmas will be the most stylish of days. ;) P.S.) Did you know that there are only three Dillard's department stores in California? It's true and Stockton has one of them! read more

This is one of the anchor stores in the Weberstown Mall and is the nicest place to shop with the best values in Stockton. This Dillard's is one of the nicest Dillard's I've seen. The selection of merchandise is more than adequate in most departments. I would definitely choose shopping at Dillard's than our local Macy's. The store service, especially in the men's department is excellent. They bent over backwards and are "Nordstrom-quality". As is the case when you hit Dillard's at the perfect time, they had a 60% off already marked down 50% savings. The pickings were still reasonable. All, in all, I love this Dillards! read more

Dillard's - The best - Department Stores Near Me - Stockton, California

I came here on Saturday and the customer service that I received from the lady in the jewelry dept was great! I forgot her name though. I was looking for a (3) colored necklace (it has yellow, pink and a red-orange) the picture is posted.. it was originally $35, but since it was on clearance it was only $9.80! I bought a total of (5) fashion jewelry clearance items, spent only about $64 and saved $128! I've read other yelpers reviews saying that this is like Macy's. I agree it does have better items, BUT the only things I don't like are the return policy (only 30 days - Macy's is up to (6) months and the receipts aren't in detail like Macy's). I will be back though! I wished there were more locations in Northern CA but this is the only one. The other location is in SoCal (Lancaster). Wished they would expand! read more

I went to purchase a half dozen night gown for a missionary friend working back & forth between The Ukraine and Mongolia. And it was taking six months to send mail round trip. And I didn't know her sizes. So before I made a purchase, I talked to a Manager On Duty, and explained that I wanted to send this gift, as the nights are very Cole there, but don't know her sizes, it it doesn't fit, I won't get it back for Abt six months. Will you guarantee I can return it? She said yes they would. I spent hundreds of dollars. They didn't fit, got returned Abt 6vmonths later. At first they refused to refund. Then finally offered me Abt $2/designer nightgown, instead of the $100+/nightgown that I paid!!! I also bought NewBalance's best model#996 shoe for myself, transfer order from another store. They called me then it got to Stockton store, rushed there to get it, but they already lost it! Was lost for 2 weeks; that's bad enough, but was also defective, and they refused to refund me, or order me a different pair, claiming it took me too long. But it took me that long because the morons lost my shipment in their warehouse! All that glitters isn't gold. Hold on tight to your wallet/money, & run from these crooks as fast as you can!!! read more

Okay, I have been a Dillards - Stockton customer for over 20 + years. So I have out lasted most of the employees there. I have also experienced good customer service and bad customer service. I think the thing I like most is their line of clothing. Of course the buyers have changed over the years, leaving a desire for better brand clothing. It's just not what it used to be, but what is. My least favorite thing that I truly detest is "racial profiling" done by the Loss Prevention department. Yes, "racial profiling." As stated early on, I have been a customer for quite sometime. While I do understand that this location may not be the most desirable location, it does not mean that the customers you serve in this area are all thieves to put it plainly. I'm not sure if this will ever not be an issue in this store. I suggest that Dillards invest in a more in-depth loss prevention training for their employees. I hate being followed around which is a waste of their time. And it makes the customers shopping experience an unequitable one. As I have read the other comments/ratings, this seems to be a common thread along with rude customer service. And the standard reply of "Thank you for visiting us! If you have any questions or concerns please email us at questions@dillards.com. We value your feedback. Please come again!" to some comments that really warrants an apology on behalf of management somewhat shows the care and thankfulness you have for your customer's experience. Her name it's Betsy She give as another employee number her name was Maya. She said she will do it June 25th sat min pass no show we call her and she said she was @ work @ 8am. I would give them a negative thought if I could. I discovered Dillard's about 18 months ago. Since I travel for my job I have the ability to shop about once a month. I continued to shop their even after I two women stole my phone in the bathroom. There only help was to say "that happens all the time here, they run out and sell the phone for 100. In the mall." But last night they made me feel like a criminal. Three months ago I bought a little boys shirt, the sales lady failed to remove the sensor. I didn't have the receipt and the tags were off the shirt because my grandson discovered the error when he put the shirt on. I was told when I called the store just bring it in the next time. No mention of bring the receipt. After three months I finally was in the store with the shirt. The sales lady saw me walk in. But they refused to remove the tag and fix the error till I spoke with a manager and produced my bank statement showing that I had been shopping in the store. And I never received an apology for the error. Just I'll do it this time. I felt completely alienated by this display of service. I truely understand that there business is in an area that has a high crime incident but t resting food customers poorly when I was a victim if their staffs poor services is crazy. In less than 7 months I travel 50 miles to shop here and have spent nearly 3,000 since December. Macy's is amazing however lacks the variety. But their commitment to service and their customer is why I will remain their customer. But For Dillard's Gus is the type of service that looses customers. I have also found many of the Dillard items on amazon for less. This type of service will keep good people from frequenting this store especially since you are located in a higher crime rate. The ladies helping me were pleasant and probably adhering to policy but it is a shame that this policy places customers in a situation which requires you to make them feel wrong for your mistake. As she shared (and of course I didn't get names) the shirt could have come from another business. But is it your job to police your customers to the detriment of the services you provide. Is it really worth loosing long term business. Are your staff incapable to determine the difference between a thief and a grandma and a reasonable story. I'm so sad to feel I no longer will shop in your store. I loved the selection you offer but weighing that against the service I receive when there is an issue is very upsetting. read more

I love this store. There shoe dept is exceptional with great customer service. I never have to wait more than a minute or two for assistance. Love that they carry Josef Seibel!! I also love the women's area for suits..my mom has never had a problem finding something she can wear.... Some things are pricey yes..but we always wait for sales..... The quality is great too..I still have shirt that I bought at Dillards (the store brand.. "Copper something.." and they are still as good as new 5-7 years later!!!!! 5 stars for you! read more

I bought a dress on Saturday for Easter Sunday, I tried it on in the store and thought I liked it, however I got home, I took the tags off and tried it on again, I had the receipt on my email, they refused to return dress because the tags were taken off, then why even send me a receipt since it doesnt do any good, I asked to speak to a manager, I spoke to Sarah, she also refused to return the dress, I will never shop here again, I have returned things without a receipt or tags on items, I either get a store credit or get it put back onmy credit card. read more

I placed an online order that was mysteriously cancelled. I contacted customer service first by chat and then by phone. Both agents were EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL. The phone agent repeated the same useless information over and over. She then proceeded to spend a full minute clanking away at her keyboard without responding to what I had just said. When I commented on this, she was merely defensive, plus she completely mis-stated what I had said, demonstrating that whatever info she was typing was not even correctly recorded. I would really like to complete my purchase there bc I cannot find my product online anywhere else, but my experience with them has been SO bad I think I will just forego the purchase. Victoria at the MAC make up counter was amazing. First, I purchased several items and she genuinely was helpful, and knowledgeable in her area. Her Suggestions were key in choosing a new tone for my winter complexion. But what makes her Wonderful, is that when I got home I realized that I was missing my phone. Looked for it and called it to assist in finding it. Victoria not only answered it and informed me I had left it at her counter. She stayed after work when the mall was closed so I could drive back to meet her and have my phone back that evening. Thank you Victoria for being a good and helpful person to others. Worst place to work at. They treat you like slaves. Don't expect to have vacation because they will take it away. Or don't plan family days or weekends because they will take that away to. As I walked into the department I was met by Alfredo Calubiran - Pacesetter, who provided excellent customer service. I had an unusual situation that came with some challenges. WORST Department store in the industry. Brought a jacket (gift) to return back for exchange, adjustment, or credit. Betty (men's manager) refused the return (or even adjustment) and told us to re-gift or sell it on ebay. REALLY? Betty told us that their product was a close-out and has NO VALUE. Great to know that their products have NO VALUE?. Dillards certainly lost our business...This store is a total JOKE. All we can say is, Shop at your own risk. Dillard's is awesome and for the most part I enjoy shopping there. What I did not like was that the older blonde woman in the men's department was being unnecessarily rude just because I had returned a shirt. I understand policy and made sure to stick within the policy. I bought a white shirt that my husband didn't end up liking. It had stayed in my closet until I had the free time to return the shirt. When I went to Dillard's , the older blonde woman assumed that my husband did wear the shirt and told me I was lying. She kept giving me attitude and made me feel uncomfortable for returning it. I know people wear things and return them because they just want to be cheap, but this wasn't the case. I recently made a trip here over Father's Day weekend and Holly in the shoe department was awesome! She helped my sister and I and she just about brought every shoe from the back for us to try on. I felt terrible but in the end, we walked away with everything we came in for AND More! We were there for 1 1/2 hours just trying on shoes and as many times as she went back and forth, she was very accommodating and never once looked frustrated, flustered nor was she pushy in trying to make a sale. Between my sister and I, we walked out of there with 5 pairs of shoes and we could not be more pleased with our purchases. With one pair, they didn't have my size in stock, so they had to order them and had them shipped to my house at no additional cost. They were ordered on Saturday and I received them on Tuesday morning. They've been on my feet ever since. : ) If you're ever in need of shoes and are heading this Dilliards, ask for Holly. She's a true professional and not only will your feet be happy, so will you. read more

Such crappy customer service! Came here to return a dress with my mom that she had bought. The dress she had bought, she literally got online 6 days prior. The customer rep said "Oh we dont return dresses 65% off if it isnt within 3 days of purchase." So my mom said "How am I supposed to return it if it takes 3 days to receive the dresses in the mail. My 3 days are already up once I receive the dress?" The damn lady responds with... "Thats why I would never buy our dresses 65% off from online" What effing nerve of her! And rude! Unless you are absolutely sure of your size and if you like what you see from only a picture, then do not order from Dillards. They have the shortest most stringent return policy I have ever come across. The countdown for their 30 day return policy starts from the date you placed the order. So you don't even get your items yet and you are out at least 7 days by the time you get the order. I returned my order within 45 days, not realizing that I only had 30 days, and my order was returned to me without a refund. I am out of over $300 for returning items that do not fit me, were returned in pristine condition, in season clothing and all tags on. Worn for only the two minutes it took me to try on. Called customer service and all they kept doing was reading me their inadequate return policy. Other stores are more than 30 days and they do not count the 7+ days it takes to receive the items. I have done much ordering from Dillards these past few years and I will no longer order from them because of their return policy. I learned an expensive lesson. read more

I love my feet. They get me from my apartment to work, from work and home again, to all the restaurants I stuff my face at and the bars where I order things like chocolate martinis. Unfortunately, sometimes my feet don't love me. They trip on curbs, cracks, and homeless people; they buckle on MUNI when the bus makes a sudden stop; they step on one another when I try to bust a move on the dance floor...in other words, I'm a klutz. It can take me a while to find shoes that minimize that klutziness. I can search the entire Macy's shoe department, scour all of Union Square, and walk up and down Union Street and still turn up empty "footed." For some reason, though, whenever I go to Dillard's I always find what I'm looking for. Today I walked away with three pairs of shoes. THREE. to put it in perspective, that would be like the equivalent of parting the red sea for someone else. read more

Since I've been born and raised in the Bay Area, I'm a fashionista when it concerns shopping for up-to-date looks! This place doesn't come close to Nordstrom, Macy's or Bloomingdale's, but it's a far out-cry for providing a few good choices on name brands. They don't carry much here nor have a large shoe department, but they suffice with what they have. I would rather drive out of my way to go shop at Valleyfair (San Jose), Newpark (Fremont), Union Square (San Francisco), or Arden Fair Mall to check out the better department stores. This is one place I can go and pretty much be guaranteed to find a pair of shoes that is: 1) made with leather 2) quality construction 3) possibly made in a country other than China, some even made in the U.S. 4) find an employee or two that is knowledgeable and courteous and patient with a person that has a hard time with shoe shopping What's not to like? Also, if you've never worn a given brand of shoes, you're usually taking a big risk purchasing said shoes on-line as most likely they will have to be returned. I tried a pair on that I'd been eying on line and let me tell you, good thing I did they were miserably uncomfortable....saved a bunch of time and money. I went in hopes Dillard's would return a pair of shoes that was given a discount for being out on display - I guess you can't return /exchange them if you are given a discount. It's a strict policy which if fine I just hadn't had experience with it before. I was hoping they may possibly make an exception since I spent approx 600 on just shoes alone that same day and was hoping to return just 100 worth, but was expecting I wouldn't be able to. The first lady in the department was very nice and said she would have to get a manager to look into it. When the manager came out - she was so insanely rude and lectured me like I was a child. I wasn't being pushy or demanding anything - just simply asking if there may be a possibility. My review is solely on the manager (I didn't catch her name but she was the manager working in the shoe department on 03.19). I felt like she had made a scene out of nothing and it was very embarrassing. A simple no I'm sorry would have sufficed. I will not be a returning customer after this. read more

This place has beautiful Christmas decor out for the season (although I wish there was more) I especially loved the vintage decor. The juniors section in women's was really nice fashion wise. However, the men's section I feel did not have a good selection. It could be improved because I mostly see suits and other fancy clothing. read more
