As a former employee who has worked for this company twice before, I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience trying to return. My most recent position with the company was eliminated back in March, so when I was contacted on July 18th regarding another opportunity, I was genuinely excited about the possibility of returning. I was looking forward to interviewing and hopefully being given another opportunity with a company I had already worked for twice. I followed up several times after being contacted, and each time I spoke with the beauty manager, Zohra, I was led to believe that I was still being considered and that I would be contacted to schedule an interview. What was most disappointing was how things were handled this past weekend. I reached out again on Sunday and was told that I would receive a call on Monday. When I still hadn't heard anything Monday, I reached out again and was told I would be contacted within 15 minutes. That call never came. Instead, I received an email stating that the company was no longer interested in moving forward with me. I completely understand that being a former employee does not guarantee me a position or even an interview. I also understand that companies have the right to choose whichever candidates they feel are the best fit. That isn't my issue. My issue is that I would have preferred honesty and direct communication. After repeatedly following up and being reassured that I would be contacted--including being told that very day that I would receive a call within 15 minutes--I feel I should have simply been told that the decision had been made not to move forward with me. There was no reason to continue giving me the impression that an interview or conversation was coming. After working for this company twice and then having my position eliminated in March, this experience was especially disappointing. I feel like my time and emotions were played with, and I found the lack of transparency and follow-through from management very unprofessional. In a way, I'm thankful for the experience because it showed me that returning may not have been the right decision for me. I value honesty, communication, and people keeping their word. I can absolutely accept being told "no." What I don't appreciate is repeatedly being told to expect a call or an opportunity that never comes. I told cashier, Paul (chubby,slightly delayed looking) I had Star Money to spend on my purchase. He then told me I "had" to use my Macy's card in order to redeem my Star Money.( I did not want to use Macy's card, i wanted to use my Amex because i get better rewards) Paul kept on talking about earning points which i could care less about and I thought his behavior was odd so I got on my phone and did a "pretend" purchase on Macys.com with my Amex and lo and behold, i was able to redeem my Star Money. I had to called Paul out on his lies, and make a scene before he finally let me use my choice of payment. It was the weirdest shopping experience ever. ugly & unorganized. i went in 30 mins before closing and it was hotter than the pits of hell. literally. there's absolutely no way they had an AC running in that joint. men's section is a maze of curtain blockades and clearance racks. it doesn't even look appealing to shop once you're inside. i spent all of 10 minutes in there before walking out. i would rather drive thru 99 traffic to the macy's in modesto or even further to the one in sac than go back there. no thank youu. do better macy's. read more

Staff here, at this specific store, in the lingerie dept, treats you like you're bothering them. Instead of showing you, the lady said "if we have something, it's over there". Bear in mind, "over there" was not very specific. Now it makes sense why Macy's is slowly but surely going out of business. Dillards gave me far better service. I'm not sure f it's just the geologic area or if it's a combination of things. But I did not have to much luck finding everything that I needed. The associate that helped me unlock a coat to purchase was low on energy, she admitted being Anzio with this COVID ordeal as well as being tired, I had macys coupons that always seem to be SO DARN difficult to use because they have so many damn exclusions. I was not able to use in my coat but was able to go upstairs to Mens and use it in two pairs or Levi's that were on sale. So again, no m not sure if it was a training issue or to many exclusions. This is the worst customer service experience I ever had in my life! Never going to this location again. I was trying to return an outfit I literally bought the day before and I bought it as is. The customer service register lady Sydney said she had to call her manager to approve it because it looked soiled. I was told the return policy is keep the tags receipt and it is returnable. I was never told if I buy clothes as is and its soiled and tags are off as if you tried it on you can't return it. This is only $70 purchase and both managers Helen and Marisa were very rude never apologized for the inconvenience and was worst customer service ever! I felt very discriminated against and mistreated after Marisa called me inappropriate unprofessional names on top off denying a return that even corporate after I called insisted they had no reason not to return it. This staff is absolutely unprofessional and horrible at dealing with customers. Marisa even finally said after speaking with 3 ppl and corporate wasting 1-2 hours of my time that she'll return the pants for me. After I told her she was very rude and I felt discriminated against she didn't even return the pants! This was such a big inconvenience to my time. I ended up late to work highly upset Marisa was so mean giving me the ugliest look to the extent of making me feel belittled and I literally left the store crying. Not only was I mistreated discriminated but also was caused emotional damage. I really hope they do something about this and replace these managers and obviously they are training the staff to be rude because Sydney was acting entitled rude and above customers. Never going to this location again! Should have looked at the reviews before I went they have nothing but horrible ratings. It's sad I'm not the only one who has experienced this! Went in to look for a fragrance that I was interested in smelling, but was bombarded by fragrances that suited older men. I went in twice, the first time I was greeted by nice lady who helped me pick out 2 fragrances that I was interested in. I left to make a decision and when I returned I was greeted by a gentleman who was constantly pushing Kenneth Kole fragrances and was ignoring my requests. The fragrances that he was recommending me suited men in their 50's, I'm 19. I went in wanting to smell the channel bleu and the Sauvage elixer and left with nothing. After that they called my JOB wondering why I left and if I was coming back, I had explained before I left that I was leaving because I was on lunch break and had run out of time. I ended blind buying the Channel Bleu from Macys the next day online. read more

Terrible customer service from middle aged female associate on 2/26/24 @ 3:13pm. My friend went in to use their brannock device so I could help him find shoes and the lady working in the shoe department was hovering over him the entire time and eventually took the brannock away and said "This isn't going to work out" when she realized we weren't going to purchase shoes in that department. The store was literally empty of patrons and the experience left a bad taste in our mouth. Utter rudeness for no discernable reason. Do not take part in their so-called raffle to win baskets full of product as it is rigged and they pick certain tickets for certain customers to win! I experienced watching them cheat at one event where the gal who pulled the ticket out already had the ticket in her hand. We came here today to make some returns. The staff was friendly and I have no complaints about that. In fact, they were fairly helpful being I had a lot of stuff to return that my wife had bought online and try it on at home. After finishing the returns we took a couple minutes to walk around. I was disappointed with the selection of items in stock. It also had a rundown feel as compared to the Macy's in Modesto or other surrounding areas that I have been to in the last year. The staff at Macys is awesome. They set a positive atmosphere for the customers that are shopping. This is refreshing to experience great customer service. Grecia in the shoe department went above and beyond to help me and my mom find the boots we wanted. Since they did not have the size that we wanted she said we could go to another store or order online. Paige is another sales representative that is a great employee at Macy. She had a great attitude and was very helpful. It was my first time using the key pad she helped me. She is a extraordinary representative of excellent customer service. She did not make feel like a nincompoop because I lacked understanding on how to work the key pad. I value good customer service because I have not always received good customer service. I remember going into coffee shop that I have never been in. The server was so arroyant and had terrible customer service. When It was time to give a tip I did not because he did not deserve it. I Yolonda is also another awesome employee that works at Macys. She was very helpful when I asked her how to check my balance on my card. She was a very kind and handled her job in a professional manner. Macys employment staff has done a ""PHENOMENAL"""job in training the employees that work at their establishment. I have lived here over a year in a half and I have never purchased a pair of shoes and I am a shoe lover. Every time I come here they either don't have my size or they are out. I am also going to complain to customer service about this. On last week I saw a pair of pumps that I wanted. One lady stopped to help me after about a 10 minute wait. It took her another ten minutes to come back and tell me that they were out of stock, she didn't even bother to check on-line for me and I dare ask, because her manner was less than stellar. I drove down to the Tracy store and the kind cashier/saleslady (Debbie) asked me if she could help me find anything. I told her I was looking for a particular brand (Nine West). Debbie told me that brand did not sell well in her store, but she would be happy to order if they have it in their catalog. She asked me to come with her to the computer and I told her the name of the shoe. It popped up on the screen and I ordered. In and out of the store in less than 25 minutes. My shoes will be on my feet by this Friday. Thank you, Debbie!! I will no longer go to Stockton Macys. I will take my business to Tracy or Arden Fair. It's too bad that I can't shop where it's convenient. I tried not to give it a rating, but it wouldn't let me, so one star. It's too bad it has to be this way. Since childhood, Macy's was always my family's go-to for buying clothes and household goods. As an adult, I'm always impressed by their selection quality of clothes. Some of the everyday shirts I currently wear were purchased at Macy's several years ago. As a short 5'1" woman, it can be difficult to find pants and shirts that fit me properly. Macy's has a petite section, so you can find tons of options that accommodate towards us shorter girls. Lots of the reviews say that Macy's is too expensive, and sometimes I agree. However, the trick is knowing when the sales are. If you are a Macy's member, they frequently send coupons and special insider deals. Not to mention, shop at the end of the season so that you can avail of clearance-marked items. They often have a great selection of items for under $10! Another negative point that people say is that the store is unruly and messy. COMPLETELY NOT MACY'S FAULT. It's the fault of rude, careless shoppers who couldn't be bothered to return their unwanted items properly onto the rack. Makes me feel so awful when I see that because I know it means one of the workers have to clean it up. The people who work at Macy's are some of the kindest, most hardworking salespeople I've ever met. One time, an attendant honored my coupon even though it was already expired! In summary, I love Macy's, their employees, their sales, and their selection. 10/10 would shop again! read more

Okay, so the store is super old and Stockton is low on Macy's priority list....they even have a sign at the counter that says, "This store checks ID's when accepting credit cards". My question is; this store as opposed to them not checking ID's at the fancy upscale stores in the bay and LA? Well, you'll be happy to know that I am not a snob. I'd have to say that I haven't shopped at Macy's for many years, probably 20 or so. I've always stayed close to the discount Ross & Marshall's of the world and the smaller boutique type shops for my more dressy occasions. I have to admit that Macy's is a large store and can be a bit intimidating to someone that doesn't know her way around the retail block. That being said, Macy's is my new discovery. The sales prices? Some say they are high priced. But if you know what style you like and look for the sales, and go on the sale days, AND check out the clearance racks you might be surprised at the deals you get. I know that not everything on the sales rack is what you are looking for, but checking periodically will get you some good finds. read more

I went into the Stockton Macy's and the shoe department was more than helpful ... they did my return and exchange and they are having the correct pair sent to me.
