Basically any Burlington Coat Factory is a hit or miss, depending on the stores products. They sell things no other stores could sell, but are still new items. I came in lookin for an actual cold weather coat and there was no men's coat section, only a few pull overs on the sports section. There was furniture and phone chargers and shoes. I come here usually to browse their shoe sections. Sometimes there's some really good shoes, just one pair, in your size, for like $20-30. Namebrand like Nike and what not. It's what makes me stop at these stores. This ones selection choice is lower than most but if you take the time to browse, you can totally find a good deal on an item you'll like. This is an experience I would not recommend to anyone, ever. It's a place where there can be one customer in front of you in the checkout line but it will still take more than 10 minutes purely due to the incompetent (and oddly loud) employee who is clueless but can't admit it. The merchandise is literally strewn all over like a tornado went through the store. And if you're looking for a specific size, just don't expect it to be where the tags say it is. To top it off, there are always suspicious activities in the parking lot. Today I stepped over a white towel which appeared to be soaked in urine, laying on the ground right beside my car door. I went to this burlington location and was overly watched by the security as a black person, after I already purchased my item.

The manager should really train the associates on how to do returns.They have no clue on how to do returns with a phone number.

Possibly the worst experience I ever had in my life. I was greeted with a lady with pink/red hair just staring at me, not even welcoming me in. While I was walking around the store I realized I had her and another red headed lady staring me down while I tried looking for some shoes. I felt very unwelcome, uncomfortable, and extremely profiled. I later heard them laughing while staring at me and my ears might've deceived me, but I swear I heard a racial slur from the pink haired lady. Once I got to the front, a young lady rang me up for my two items and was very sweet!! I asked her who those two ladies were and she said they were the store manager (Diana) and supervisor (Tatiana). I hope the other employees aren't treated as horribly as I was because they were very helpful and kind... Seems like the management should learn from their employees. Will never come back to this store unless they get a new manager and supervisor. read more

Burlington Coat Factory is very similar to Ross, but a lower quality and even more disorganized if that's even possible. Definitely a hit or miss on items that range from coats, clothing, shoes, housewares, pantry items, accessories and more. Growing up in NJ, going to Burlington was an event every year to get new school clothes and of course, winter coats. But the Burlington of my youth no longer exists. It has become a watered down version. I'm usually all about the hunt for a bargain, but when I'm at Burlington's I have no patience; I actually get cranky! Went to return a hoodie. I had the receipt. It was way under 30 days. Paid cash. The manager said I only get store credit, I said no I have a receipt less then 30 days, I want my cash. I wasn't taking no for an answer. Didn't raise my voice. I had the right to get my refund. She got mad I wasn't taking no for an answer and told me to get out, she told her employees to ignore me and go to the floor. I wasn't taking no for an answer, standing there in shock because she's the manager she should try to fix it and help me. I was standing there and she called security on me. A paying customer who spends a lot there. Treating me like a criminal. I was trying to enjoy my day with my daughter. Made me waste gas driving to return it. Ruined my day. Embarrassed in front of everyone because she called security on me for standing there. I know she was just mad because I wasn't backing down and she couldn't just easily bully me. Security was outside too. I spend a lot. I don't steal. I had a legit not expired receipt with unworn tags on hoodie. The cashiers were nice and they told me they didn't know why she was acting that way. They even agreed she was wrong. Also, last time I was there someone stood at the door when I was done paying then stood outside watching me go to my car. As far as the store selection goes I would give it a 3.5. it's nice because it definitely does have a great selection of you can find your size and it's nice stuff you don't see anywhere else. But as for the management at the location..... I'd have to give it no stars if that was an option. The two store managers had profiled and approached me to ask me to leave. They literally lied to me about the reason! I have never been so offended by a store employee EVER IN MY LIFE let alone for no reason! They approached me and said "Excuse me but you have to leave because you have already been caught stealing from this store and we kicked you out." So I was confused because that ABSOLUTELY NEVER HAPPENED! I have only been to this location two other times and they were at least 3 or 4 years ago but never have I stole any merchandise or even spoke to your employees for any reason but to buy something. So I was still trying to let them know they had the wrong person but they told me that they knew it was me. One of the employees (Betsy) said she was there when it happened!! So I figured ok I can show them my driver's license and they will realize that this is all a misunderstanding... Nope they weren't willing to look at my driver's license! Would not give me even one chance to try and prove my innocence! I Know it is because I am a lesbian that they assumed I was there to steal. They obviously didn't think I had money. Everything was just fine until my girlfriend came in and told me she was leaving for work. Then within 10 minutes the male employee (Chris) started asking if I was finding everything ok. Then the two approached me and falsely accused me for committing a crime on a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DAY THAT HAD NEVER HAPPENED. Not only were they saying that they think I am a thief and a criminal but they were saying that I had already been caught at this location and took it a step further (well Betsy did) saying that she was actually there when it happened and denied looking at my only form of proving my innocence! I don't really leave reviews for businesses unless they do something really great and deserve a praise but the way the made me feel was really not ok and I figured someone else should at least be aware of how they are treating customers. Maybe it's me, but this seems to be one of the few places I can find Cajun spice mix, furniture and chili pepper socks all in one location. Am I right? I know that Burlington, TJ Maxx and Marshalls are all similar in what they have but I grew up with Burlington Coat factory. We'd head down to the place in Burlington, NJ and that's where we got our winter coats as kids. It was what we did growing up. I'll admit, the place isn't what I remember from back then but the chain adapted to the times and expanded what they had in their stores. You can still find pretty good clothing really inexpensive and when I have time to make it back up here to Janzen Beach, I'll be sure to stop back in. Enjoy. read more

I have to say I am surprised by the bad reviews for this place. Yes, they have coats, but they also have a whole lot more as well. Maybe it got its name by starting out as a place for coats, and then they just keep adding more items. I came in a few weeks after Christmas. They had some really fantastic deals I have to say. I got some great Italian cookies,(that I have bought before in San Francisco) so I know they were good. I bought 2 boxes of them. Final price $1.47 a box. Is that the deal of the year or what! For being after the holidays and every little thing on clearance,the place was pretty clean and in good shape. The girl working the cash reg. was really nice and asked if we found all we were looking for there. Worth a little stop on a rainy day. read more

ever wonder what a snipe hunt is? It's looking for men's clothes here. It's OK if you need men's pants or shirts & you don't care what color or size or fit or brand or quality they are. The men's section appears to be constantly hit by hurricanes & is the very definition of organized chaos racks too close for comfort (even for Ted Knight)... not those kind of racks, clothing racks come here with patience, time and a shovel. read more

They have a good selection of women's, and plus sized. That goes for juniors too. Baby clothes and other such things for good prices. And if you know any Big guys, this is going to be one of their best options for big and tall minus the stigma of walking into big and tall. Also, I'm quite sure it's cheaper than the actual store big&tall. The reason behind my 3 star review is the TERRIBLE service. For instance, I had a woman tell me that I'm out of fashion. That maybe I should go shop at Goodwill. To which I replied,"I didn't know that having a nasty mouth in the customer service industry IS in fashion, you've taught me so much." Where are the dresses?!? Seriously... where? Either there are simply less dresses in the world, less being sold at Maxes, Rosses, Marshalls and Burlington, or maybe it's simply this time of year. Large store. Clean, stocked. But I went there for dresses and found only two I liked and could afford. They both looked crappy on me, but that's not their fault.. is it? So - prices are pretty good here, but I wish I liked their stuff better this trip. May have to try again closer to my east coast trip. read more

Beware of Burlington's return policy! You may end up loosing a lot of money!!! Even if you have purchase receipt, after 30 days, the store will refund only whatever they like! Supervisor is a complete airhead. If you find a seasonal item that has gone on clearance just like all the rest of the seasonal clearance items and they forgot to mark it as being on clearance, and you ask the supervisor if the item shouldn't be on clearance just like all the rest of the SAME items... He can never give you a proper answer and he can almost be down right insulting in his response. As long as he is there, we will not shop there again. Also, the bathrooms are horrible and one time that we were looking at shoes and pulled a pair out of their box, we realized that we had somebody's dirty, filthy, disgusting, used shoes in our hands that someone had most likely left after stealing a pair. Sometimes stuff gets kind of picked through, but the staff is super friendly and helpful. I found some really pretty things- you have to search! But it's fun when you find what you want. Erin checked me out and she was very friendly even though it was the end of the night. After my purchase I realized I forgot something and Shantinea and Stephanie were incredibly nice and helped me find my item even after closing. They have a decent return policy and their prices are really good, especially when compared to Macy's and Nordstrom. The clothes may be last season's but really, who cares and what kind of weirdo would even know that? I mostly really appreciate the friendly and polite staff. read more

Sooo, first off Burlington.com is sooo out of line. You can allegedly return items at the store but the catch is that if you paid via PayPal Burlington refuses to refund you via PayPal but insists on giving store credit instead! Say what? Store credit? I didn't pay with store credit! Refund me via the means I paid! I was within 30 days of purchase. AND the invoice included in your .com order is useless because the "shipping invoice" email has to be provided! Say what? What kind of bullshittery is that? AND I NEVER RECEIVED A SHIPPING INVOICE. The person helping me immediately asked a supervisor for help since my return from an online order. Tasha, the person in charge kept speaking to me in a VERY LOUD voice. I asked her to lower her voice as I am not hard of hearing which she did BRIEFLY. I produced the email exchange that showed me requesting shipping confirmation which was not sufficient for a refund of my purchase. So this business of not sending shipping confirmation is apparently Burlington's M.O.! Curiously, Burlington.com replied, "your package should arrive today" rather than providing the shipping info... AND loud mouth Tasha informed me that I would be getting credit for whatever the instore price of my returns may be reduced to NO MATTER THAT THE PRICE I PAID WAS RIGHT THERE ON MY INVOICE! Of a $186 order My returned items were less than $30. The tags happen to be still on all but one item I did already wear. AND I just saw that Burlington is listed on the DO NOT BUY GrabYourWallet site which I was unaware of! Guess who is getting EVERY LIP FLIPPIN ITEM I PURCHASED BACK? AND I intend to return their store credit along with the merchandise.
