Those working at the pharmacy were very helpful, even checking prices of their version of GoodRX when the system showed my insurance was not covering a lot of the cost. While they're picked up a few groceries. As always when at a new Freddie's, it took me some time to find the basic items as no two Freddie's are designed the same. It was an ok experience. I have to screenshot prices, so when I get to the register, the cashier tells me to go to customer service to get my refund. I've been shopping at 7404 N Interstate, Portland, OR, for over 5 years now. Not only is it a waste of time to pull out my camera to screenshot every time I want to buy a 'sale' item, but I also have to wait in line at customer service to get my refund. I don't recommend using their Store Pickup. They forgot half my items and called once I got home saying they cannot issue a refund, and that I will have to contact support. I've been in contact with support for 4 days now and still have not been issued a refund. In this economy, I'm not willing to play with my money like this again! read more

I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews, but I can't be quiet on this one. Shopping in the store is totally fine. I can always find what I need pretty easilyiand the checkout lines are never that extreme. This review is addressed to the pharmacy. I've been there in person and seen how hard the staff members are working. We can all agree that pharmacies all over the country are understaffed and underpaid. However, this Fred Meyer pharmacy is beginning to look a lot like CVS or Walgreens. I have spent so many precious hours of time literally waiting for anyone to answer the phone. Today, someone picked up and hung up, to place me back on hold over five times, before I gave up. This is not an exaggeration, and it's also not uncommon. I finally became frustrated enough today that I called the Fred Meyer on Broadway (which consistently answers the phone) and pleaded for them to transfer my prescription. The tech was more than willing to help and got it resolved in several minutes. I will happily drive a few extra miles to be able to connect with the staff, both remotely in person. Shop here for food, but take your pharmaceuticals elsewhere. read more

Groceries are super expensive here even if you use a rewards card to pay less from what you're buying. Promotions aren't as helpful to make it less expensive when you're almost paying the same price. It's becoming unaffordable. read more

I don't know if they're just understaffed or they don't care, but I was supposed to get 4 boxes of cereal at $2 per box and I was charged full price. Then, I had to stand in line for over half an hour waiting on the ONE person (Audrey) to help me at the customer service desk. Then I got an attitude on top of it. Meat department folks never fail to amaze me by their can-do attitudes and willing to help. The best department of the store, hands down! I've been coming to this store since I moved to Portland 13 years ago! These folks have always been the best. Ben at the groceries is outstanding. He recognizes me and always says hello and asks if I need help. Very attentive to customers! Thank you, Ben! It's always a pleasure to see you at the store! Gentleman at the door, Jon I believe is his name, is always pleasant greeting people as we come into the store. He definitely sets the tone for the overall experience. I however can't say the same about most of the cashiers at the register. There are a few I recognize and say hello to and they cheer up, but most look like they're forced to be there. Again, I don't expect top notch service, but a simple smile could go so far. And I appreciate this department getting better at reminding us to insert our Fred meyer's rewards. More and more items are locked up. You have to press a call button and wait and wait for someone to assist you. In addition if you want to buy toothpaste or make up, etc. you must check out separately in that area of the store. The store is usually understaffed. You frequently need to bag your groceries. ID is required to buy beer or wine even if you are 80, and not only do they look at the ID but they scan your drivers license in their system. They have absolutely no legal reason to keep information on your drivers license in their system. This should be a concern to everyone. You are also locked in or out of the store with gates and must show your receipt upon exiting. it is a very unpleasant shopping experience where everyone is treated like a thief at this location. read more

I'm standing in front of the fresh bread shelf. They have in store baked grand Central, labrea, u bake... Absolutely none have a price. All the little plastic places the price should be are emoty. Best to it is a stand of Essential Strain Bread, take and bake. Not a single price on anything. For basket workers standing around chatting. Wow, revising to 1 star. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I could excuse and understand the level of disorganization, given they are reliant on external systems for automation, etc. not their fault, necessarily that things are often incorrect, not filled on time as promised, etc. What I can't excuse is the incredible level of rudeness from staff. I understand it is not a glamorous job, and they are overworked. But with one exception, and she is fabulous, the staff are incredibly rude, short with customers, and just plain worst customer service I have ever experienced. Today, 7/7, was the worst, most rude experience I have ever encountered, and she was truly, truly awful. I have heard them being incredibly rude to customers in front of me as well, management really needs to provide some sensitivity and bias training, along with some good old fashioned customer service. If you have the opportunity, choose a different pharmacy or online vendor - you will save yourself a lot of time on phone calls and multiple visits for one prescription, much less the heartache if you and your family have multiple prescriptions like we do. read more

FREDDY!!! Where have YOU been all of my life?! Look at you just serving me up all of the goods and then some. Like a glorified Costco without the annual membership fee! Oooohh yaaas, I'm 'bout it, 'bout it! I came here to stock up on some items for a hiking trip to the falls. This was my first time ever visiting a Fred Meyer and I honestly had no clue what I was in for. This. Place. Is. GIGANTIC!!! They literally have any and everything that you could ever want and need! So many departments that it'll make your head spin. I easily spent an hour and a half in here when I intended to only stop in for 15-20 minutes to grab a few things. It actually threw a few of my plans off, but I was just so entranced. So, I walked in and BAM! I start walking down the aisle and what do I see? The makeup aisle! Correction: makeup AISLES! Holy sh*t! Their selection of drugstore makeup is no friggin' joke! I can't even get my Walgreen's or CVS to carry some of the makeup brands that this store has. And, they carry brands for women of color too!!! Y'all know how I girl and her makeup are. I spent too much time in this aisle... and wasn't even supposed to be there. I ended up going upstairs... yes UPSTAIRS where they have a full on clothing department. Found myself some discounted Nike apparel and scored big time. They also have a large toy section up there with tons and tons of toys for the kiddies. They have shoes and workout gear... hats, socks, local sports apparel. All of that good stuff! So, back downstairs I went to explore. They sell electronics! Large TV's, computers, all of that jazz. In the back of the store, I found an extensive bike and luggage selection along with several pieces of outdoor furniture. They have an entire section dedicated to camping essentials and they even have a place where you can buy Portland souvenirs! Their gardening department is pretty large too, and they had some excellent deals on their plants and flowers. I finally made it to the grocery side of the store and their prices are super reasonable aka CHEAP! They had nuts on sale for cheap, great prices on their produce and water. I was in Heaven! The only thing that I couldn't find while I was there was a plastic poncho. They had a fancy looking girly one, but I knew it wouldn't last so I didn't buy it. They may have just ran out but they associate tried his best to find them for me but couldn't locate any. Parking is pretty bad. I circled the lot about 3 times before I could find a spot. For a store this size, they should really invest in more parking spots. But I understand why it's so busy... look at all of the ish that they carry in this store! Amazing! I love this location! It is right off I-5 and easy to get in and out of. This means if you are nearby you can zip in, grab a few things and zip right out. I am a Lyft driver so I needed a restroom, some gas and a spot of food and vitamins. My favorite gas is at the Astro across the street. Unfortunately the Astro has not usable restroom. Then I realized there was this Fred Meyer right here. I rushed in no sweat after easy parking. I used there nice clean bathroom, grabbed some food and was able to rush right back out and over to the gas station. While going through the store I was actually pretty sad that this store is not the one near me. They have a MOCHI BAR!! MOCHI!! They have a lot of things I have never seen at other stores. I found some allergy pills with a digital coupon but trying to download the app and get the coupon proved to be a horrible challenge. I mentioned it to the cashier who took the $2 off with barely a word at all. Everyone I encountered at the store was super helpful and friendly. read more

When I got home the carton box was half open, and the heavy cream was lumpy and expired, even though the expiration date wasn't to expire until January 6th. Like most Fred Meyer's in Portland, the beer selection is abnormally good (although not quite as good as the Hawthorne location's...), it's pretty much the length of an entire aisle. The absolute worst pharmacy I've ever been to. It took weeks, many trips and calls to get my prescriptions transferred there. And still, they didn't fill all my medication. I set up automatic refills for my prescriptions and haven't received any notifications (spoiler alert: because their tech put my phone number in wrong), and it's SO important I have them on time. I called to figure out where my meds were and what was happening...Tasha was *horrible* and took the worst, snide, sickeningly condescending tone with me. I have *never in my life* advocated for someone to lose their job...your behavior (specifically bc you deal with humans who need their life saving medication) is one of those times. Get a new job. Went to pick up medications needed after a surgery and told me I would need to come back in 2 hours; asked if there was a way to expedite the prescriptions given I had the patient with me and it would be hard for me to leave them! Honestly, I have never been treated so poorly by the technician-there are no appropriate words that I can use to describe their behavior. I had to make plans for somebody to help me out so that I could go and get the prescriptions. I used to get my prescriptions filled here, but the service got so bad the past year that I transferred my monthly prescription to Costco. The staff was rude and have no concept of customer service! I've never had consistently terrible experiences with any pharmacy - last straw was getting getting denied drive-thru service on my way home from the ER and getting an excessively snotty and demeaning response when asked why I couldn't use it during open hours. My clinician also warned me that several of her patients have gotten incorrect medication and quantity. I would be extremely careful shopping at Fred Meyer. I purchased 3 items and did not take a receipt or looked at it. A month later there was 42 items charged to my VISA card when my statement came in. I went in person and talked to the Manger, she said they would look into it and update me. Pharmacy: I reluctantly switched to this pharmacy when the local RiteAid closed. The assistants were okay but the pharmacist was usually pretty short when interacting. However, recently, my dr's office called in an antibiotic prescription early on a Friday. Should have been filled within an hour as it is something they keep in stock. By Sunday it still had not been filled, I went in to inquire why. I was told, " it came in on Friday. We don't fill those until the next business day. If it's important you can always call us". I remarked, "Oh, that would have been nice to know ahead of time." The assistant looked as though I slapped her. At that point her whole demeanor towards me changed. I witnessed her speaking rudely about me to the female pharmacist who then also treated me rudely. This was an antibiotic prescription. I was in pain for 2 days because "they don't fill prescriptions received on Fridays until the next business day (Monday)". This information is not posted anywhere. I have notified my dr's office who said that they have heard similar complaints. Other pharmacies in the area have also heard similar complaints. read more
