I stopped in to check out what they had, since I'd never heard of it before. It is basically a higher-end TJ Maxx, because, not surprisingly, they're owned by the same company. Selection is small, and prices are high. If you find something you need, then it may be worth stopping in, but it seems to be an outlet for things, and as such, should probably have lower prices. I can find no compelling reason to return. read more

Website states return policy, which doesn't get read or followed by staff. Website clearly states "Returns with a receipt received outside the returns timeframe may qualify for a merchandise credit. This credit is redeemable online or in store at any Sierra location. " Staff randomly pointed to signs around store that state something different, I showed them website, they didn't care... Great value ... yeti cup priced for 15 bucks. Got our base layer for skiing for 10th of the price of anything online. Also bought two ski helmets and a Pickleball paddle and walked out of the store for less than $140. read more

Sierra offers gear and apparel for all your running, camping, yoga, or hiking needs and some other knick knacks for home and your pets too .The store is big however I wouldn't call them well stocked , there have been times I went looking for the smallest of things like a cap and they had just one in stock . The prices are great though as they include products from department store cancellations, a manufacturer making up too much product, or a closeout deal when another vendor wants to get rid of out of season stuff . The staff is alright and reach out to help if they can. read more

I have always enjoyed shopping the TJMAXX brand and sub-brand shops. Sierra is great in it's focused area of outdoors stuff. I love discounted prices, and it's always a treasure hunt. The only thing I wish they'd be better at is to have more clamming/crabbing gears, waders and stuff. Their website has some sometimes but not quite the level of saving I'd expect from Sierra. read more

I have think this place has a really excellent selection of clothing and products and hat are geared toward the outdoors and sports. They have excelled prices that a far lower than the typical retail store. Don't really understand the reviews on here about the prices being high. This is like a blend of Dick's Sporting Goods and Big 5 put together but much much smaller selection. A little of everything. Even though I didn't find anything, it was nice to peruse through. Very clean, organized and huge floor to ceiling mirrors to use. read more

I must say that I feel cheated by my transaction today. I looked online at several stores for what I needed. STP had what I needed and I was pleased to see that the ones I wanted were on clearance. I went into the store, found the exact same items but they weren't marked down. When I went to check out I asked if they would honor the price on the website, since that is why I came in. They refused because, even though it was the exact same item, the store item was one letter different on the item code. I feel like this is bait and switch. I needed the item so I bought it anyway but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I will certainly tell everyone I know that this doesn't seem to be an ethical business. read more

Know this: you are about to read a review about a store from someone who avoids shopping, especially for clothing. STP makes shopping painless via a spacious, organized departments and aisles. I would live in soft pullovers, hoodies, pants and cotton socks, if I could. Even when I need to dress up, STP is a great, discounted option. I like the open, airy, relaxed atmosphere of this store. The seating area near the dressing rooms is convenient except I'm usually the one making family members wait for me as I try on one last thing. I happen to like shopping without a clerk checking in on me--if you want that kind of service, STP may not be for you. Checking out is easy and efficient with well prepared clerks. read more

Bought a pair of Smartwool gloves and 4 pair of Smartwool socks as a Christmas gift. One of the pair of socks fit poorly (worn 1 day) in relation to the other pairs (all others were fine). Took back the one pair along with my receipt for an exchange , and was told sorry, no exchange since they've been worn. How would we have known that they were a poor fit if they weren't worn for a day? Requested a different style or store credit. Nope, go away, "So Sorry, nothing we can do" said the Manager. "No Customer Satisfaction policy here, we're an Off-price store". They said call Smartwool, and didn't want to deal with me. read more

My family received their newsprint, tiny type, no-photo catalog in the mail for decades. I was surprised to hear about their brick and mortar store in PDX. Then found out they are part of the TJ Maxx empire now. No problem. Amazing prices and great quality on outdoor gear, mostly clothes. This isn't REI, and it's not quite the ActiveWear section at Target - somewhere in between! Good brands like North Face, Royal Robbin, Toad & Co at steep discounts. They have hiking gear, but this is not a place to stock up before hitting Mt. Hood. Great prices on running shoes and workout gear. Be prepared to run the gerbil chute of snacks and widgets before getting to the check out register just like at Marshall's. read more

I like this store, but if you order anything online to be shipped to the store... beware! The shipping time is super slow and not what they advertise. Lesson learned ... next time pay the shipping costs to your home.. it is not worth the incredibly slow mail service to their store, kind of a bummer when they say it will arrive on a certain date and it is a week or more after that it finally arrives to the store.. read more

Today I went into Sierra Trading Post to make an exchange on a T-shirt I received as a gift yesterday. I did not have a receipt but the purchase had been made a day ago and all tags were on the t-shirt. At the front of the line they have a billboard stating their return policy which never mentions needing a receipt, only that the tags and original packaging are intact. I understand not being able to give someone a cash return without a receipt, but not even an exchange? What's worse is that this billboard stating their return policy essentially says we can use our personal discretion to reject any returns. The floor manager or sales manager then told the cash clerk there was nothing they could do even though the clerk suggested it would be fine for an exchange. The sales manager then told me that there was no way of them verifying the transaction. You guys don't have POS software that tracks each SKU# transaction? Really? Well, I've been shopping at Sierra Trading Post for 10+ years and have been to the new brick and mortar locations in Jantzen Beach and Hillsboro about 8 times since opening. I will reconsider. Good deals in town aren't worth feeling like a 2nd rate customer. read more
