I shop Target purely for the clearance and some sales. This Target has great clearance finds when you take time to look around the store and scan things to check the prices. They have a large selection of items with various prices. Most recently, I found patio furniture at 70% off. It was clearly marked, but I still found some great low cost items. The service is good and Target has a good return policy. While I hate that they rolled back their DEI initiatives, I shop there occasionally because in this economy, I have the get the best deal. read more

This particular target was on the list to visit because in the area during the weekend trip and no sales tax in OR, so naturally doing a bit of shopping was in order. This Target is one of the biggest I've been to and following that it's the most modern Target I've been to, so I assume it's fairly new? What I noticed is the signs hanging over the areas of the store letting you know where things are, you know like it says, "Baby clothes" or "Furniture"? They're illuminated here, which I think is awesome. You can see where sections are from across the store without wandering around as much. It's also very spacious here, it wasn't too crowded here, but I never felt like anyone was in my way like at other stores or even other Target stores. The selection was wide here, there was so much pet food, supplies and groceries etc. I was surprised this isn't labeled a super Target. It was easy to find what I was looking for here and the check-out was smooth, with a nice lady helping people along at self-checkout. One of the best Target's I've been to. read more

If you're taking light rail, make sure to get off at the Mt. Hood station. The store is just a few steps away. I remembered this from when I was here something like 16 years ago. However, coming from downtown, for some reason, I got off one stop early. All reason went out the window when I saw Ikea and the Cascades train stop. I got out there and ended up walking something like a half-mile to get to Target. With the help of a couple of extra OTC painkillers, I made it, and only had to sit down a couple of times. I appreciated that the parking lot had sidewalks and crosswalks. It's like so many other Target stores, although I have never seen a CVS inside a Target. (In Hawaii, CVS is still Longs Drugs and they are free-standing. I looked for a certain brand of travel-sized toothpaste; there wasn't any. The bin contained only regular-sized tubes. Many of the travel-size section bins were empty. I also wanted a certain brand of waterproof black mascara. It would be cheaper here than in Hawaii. (Strangely, mascara can't be shipped to Hawaii.) What I wanted was near the floor, making them tough to see and read, and none of the tags were right. I checked all the tubes, and none of them were what I was looking for. I'm now 0 for 2. Next I headed to the grocery section. The fresh food section, particularly the fresh meat section, seemed smaller than others I've seen. There wasn't much on sale, either. I didn't have a ton of stuff, but I was having trouble carrying it. I checked in two spots for a basket, and both were out. There were two human checkers on duty with a few people in line for both. The line for self-checkout was long. Staff responded and opened up two more lanes. The person helping me was pleasant and chatty. It was just a bummer they didn't have two things I was specifically looking for. It was still an okay experience, and I got some unintended exercise. We'll see how much my arthritic joints ache tomorrow. read more

I walked in to run some errands and had to use the restroom, was so disgusted by the restrooms... I just walked turned around and walked back out. 6 months later. A dozen check stands... 1 open. Big line. This is after waiting a long time and searching for an associate to open a locked cabinet to purchase an item. So many items are locked up, and difficult to located any workers. Store is so understaffed that's it's frustrating to shop here. read more

It's always hard reviewing chain and big box stores, because often there is no meaningful difference between locations. This Target happens to be the closest to home, and fortunately, it's a pretty great one. Always clean, well-stocked, and most importantly, well-staffed! Employees are helpful and plentiful...well, not difficult to find when you need one, anyway! About the only difficulties I've ever had here are when I've been looking for popular seasonal items, when there's been a rush. For example, aquatic toys for the kids during the scorching, 110° heat we had a few weeks ago, or the Christmas section during the last few days before the holiday. Things tend to be....rather ravaged in those instances, but that is true everywhere. The Cascade Station location is easily the best Target in Portland, and perhaps the whole Portland-Vancouver metro area. I am a huge Target fan. This site is about the same as all other Targets I've been to, with minor differences. The layout and merchandise are all about the same (save for the Portland-based sports team merchandise, naturally). And I love it! My kid and I were here on Black Friday and, although it was busy, to be honest, I thought it'd be crazier and more chaotic. Like most stores, this Target is experiencing some supplies issues, and there were shelves that were empty (ex, infant pain medications), but that's a national issue. Also, because it was high-traffic shopping season, there were lots of products that were misplaced by customers, and things strewn about in areas. I don't blame the store for this; I saw employees trying to straighten up shelves and bring items back to their usual departments. They were doing their best. For the most part, the store was clean and well-organized. Some things at Target just cannot be beat. Their seasonal stuff in the dollar area by the front door is usually great (especially for families with kids. LOTS of inexpensive stocking stuffers!). I really appreciate how they always have some nice Hanukkah items (not just Christmas - although Christmas is clearly 90% of their seasonal focus). Lots of their clothes and accessories are really nice and very reasonably priced. My kid and I usually get some good quality candles here in lovely fragrances for $4 each (and their fairly large, too!). I bypass all the aisles and aisles of wines and spirits because I cannot bring them back to Canada and it'd be hurtful to walk down those aisles (!). You Americans are so lucky to have wines and spirits at good prices in your grocery stores. But I digress.... I got a lot of boxes of white Christmas indoor mini-lights for $5 each. Great deal. In fact, they have a super selection of lights in the back, and storage for all your holiday trees and ornaments. This particular Target has an Ulta department, where you can shop selected Ulta merchandise (cosmetics and skin care, Ulta brand and certain high-end cosmetic brands). I've not seen an Ulta department in any other Target, but perhaps they are going to be instituted in Targets in the future. I'm not sure. But it's pretty cool. One strange issue: my kid wanted to buy a dog toy that was shaped like a skull head. We thought perhaps it was left over from Halloween. There was only one and no price on it. (My kid has a new dog that's big and destroys every toy within 5 minutes. This toy looked really strong and more sturdy and less likely to be destroyed so quickly). Anyhow, at the cash, the cashier had to call over a manager to check on this price, and the manager saw it, took it, and threw it in a bin under the counter, saying it's not for sale, it shouldn't have been on the shelf, it was for Halloween. My kid said she'd buy it, even if it wasn't on sale or anything, and the manager just said "not for sale", and walked away. We all thought that was really, really odd. A store, passing up on a sale? Even the cashier gave us a look as if to apologize. One good issue: when I got back to my hotel and checked out my receipt, I saw that most items I got were 5% off. I guess for Black Friday? It wasn't advertised anywhere that my kid and I saw, that prices would be discounted today on all these items. I was pleasantly surprised. My favorite Target in the Portland area! The store is bright, clean, neat and well stocked. Plus tons of parking right out front! Located on the opposite end of the Cascade Shops, it basically sits in its own. Like all Targets, they have a variety of items ranging from workout clothing, clothing, accessories, electronics, grocery, bed & bath, home decor, health & beauty, seasonal, outdoor items, etc. sometimes you just need to go in for one item; other times you need to fill the cart! Lots of self check out stations. The registers with cashiers move quickly. Customer Service is as soon as you enter store which is convenient if you need to process a return - and the item credit immediately goes back to your card without you needing to provide it. Have always found the workers here to be helpful and friendly. There is a Starbucks and their own food counter. The hot pretzels are buttery and addictive! read more

I used to enjoy going to Target when I needed something. But this Target has really become horrible. I only go there now if I can't get what I need literally anywhere else. They only ever have one cashier there. Last time I was there, they had one cashier who was new, training another cashier on their first day. Literally, the blind leading the blind. Other than that, just self checkout, where the line is always a mile long because people are idiots and half the registers don't work. It's maddening. Don't go here if you're in urgent need of an RX!! RUDE Customer Service in the Pharmacy!!! I was dealing with an urgent medical issue and was trying to explain to the woman that I was in Intracranial High Pressure following a CSF leak Epidural Patch, and that there were delays in getting my Rx at another pharmacy because 3 different doctors were trying to help at once. I told her that the Rx was called over to CVS to help facilitate in my getting it faster because I should've been taking it already. She cut me off 4 times, kept telling me to just check my text messages and that the drug would be ready when it was ready, and ignored me when I said I needed this medicine ASAP (I asked if it could be ready in an hour) to keep from blowing my blood patch and my ending up in the surgical suite again, OR worse go blind/have a seizure from my brain matter being crushed.... she acted like she could've cared less if I died. read more

Conveniently located near the airport area, Target has everything if one can't find a nearby Walmart. Parking is plentiful in the nice large lot surrounding the building. Curiously enough, this store (guessing the other locations do too) carry craft beer too. This is a great place to shop. The friendly, helpful employees are around the store and ask if you need help. The store is clean and well stocked so I always find what I'm shopping for. There are several security guards In uniform and a security patrol car in the front of the store at any given time. As seen in the photo, there were four securities and a manager standing there as you walk in. They stare at you as you enter, check out, and exit the store. They no longer use cashiers and it is only self check out now. A very dystopian vibe. read more

I just came here today on May 15,2020 at 10am- 10:45am. I spend a good hour here. I'm disappointed, I actually like this location. I went to self checkout and the lady point out there's a limit on water gallon. I told her there no sign and she insist taking it. I went back to check and there is no sign. She is a young, heavy on the side and when she speaks I can her her stutter, (I'm describing the self checkout employee) I saw two employee stocking for summer section and I ask them there no limit because the person at the self checkout told me and there's no sign. The young lady told me they took down the sign. (The young guy and the young lady were helpful and suggest me to take the gallon, but I told them I don't want to any longer due to the self checkout lady) I'n the future may sure all employees are updated. I don't plan to come to this location here anytime right now due to disrespect. The lady could had at least double check because I told her there was no sign and didn't believe me. During the early 1980s, I lived and worked in Bucks County Pennsylvania. There were (and still are) State Liquor Stores, which for me meant limited hours and selection, and sometimes indifferent service. As such, it was easy to take the short drive over the Burlington-Bristol Bridge and buy my Adult beverages at Roger-Wilco in New Jersey. Yet, I was watchful, as stories abounded regarding Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board agents who would conduct surveillance on heavy buyers, follow them back across the border, and issue citations. Whenever I fly up to PDX, I wonder if there are California agents lurking and ready to pounce at the first hint of avoided sales tax. I wouldn't put it past them. And when you consider the sheer number of stores at nearby Cascade Station, the good Oregon folks know exactly what might be going on, or carried aboard all those Alaska or Southwest flights heading South. I'm actually a little more careful that way these days, as my dear Gayle (who works for City government) reminds me that sales tax revenues pay for needed local services. Yet, here I was at this Super Target during a recent weekend. Actually, it was my Portland-based Teenage Son who wanted to be there when the doors opened at 8 AM on a Saturday morning to just "look around". Yeah right! Since he didn't pack well for the weekend, I bought him a cheap fleece jacket. The Kid was more interested in Magic Cards and what might supplement his main deck. In any event, Target was here for the "essentials", shopping entertainment when we needed it, and for a clean bill of health from the California Franchise Tax Board. read more

Oh, Target. I can't quit you. I only needed four things this weekend, and I had them written down. I even limited myself by grabbing a handbasket, not one of those rolling urban assault carts. You let me down on one item - out of stock, but I made up for it in lingerie which wasn't even on my list. Black lace for the win! I found the bar soap (on the list), and also grabbed the liquid hand soap (not on the list) in those gorgeous colors and attractive bottles - it's like you know me! The three ring binder dividers were just what I was looking for, and bonus! Mini dry erase markers (that's right, not on the list). Tampons, check. New lipstick - impulse buy! And the Valentine Day cards. I never send cards, but the display was so lovely and inviting. It seemed like the thing to do. $80 later and one bag only half full of stuff (I thought that kind of thing only happened at Whole Foods), I felt fulfilled and happy. With the day ahead of me I tilted my rear view mirror to apply a fresh coat of new color to my smile, and hit the road! read more

I had an amazing experience with my drive up order today. The team member was already out waiting with my items because she said she saw I was only a couple minutes away. It was dark, cold and raining -- the fact that she decided to go above and beyond in these conditions for a simple order absolutely floored me. She also double checked to make sure I had all the correct items which most team members don't at other stores. She realized I was missing my raspberries which were still stored in the fridge and promptly got it for me. I couldn't believe how incredible this employee was. She deserves an award. I'll definitely be coming back to this target for future drive up orders, because the Tomahawk Island Target is pure trash in comparison. read more

I always enjoy my experiences shopping in Target. Things are easy to find because of signage and the store feels organized by common sense. Like all the target stores it's a really good place to do all kinds of shopping. All Safety guidelines are being practiced as far as I could see signage on the front door stating masks are required, wiping of shopping carts, hand sanitizer easily available, 6' signs on the floor, and employees masked. During the pandemic, I also have made use of the Drive-Up option and it is great! Target doesn't always have the best products, so for those items, I tend to shop elsewhere. Great service. Friendly associates that went the extra mile to answer my questions and help me make the perfect selection of what I was looking for. It was a pleasant shopping experience all around. read more

I need to write this review to acknowledge the pharmacist who was working this afternoon (10/05). I went to fill an RX after a very painful and emotionally draining trip to the dentist. Something was wrong with the way they wrote it and I was on a break from work. The pharmacist was obviously very busy but she remained calm, polite and caring throughout our interaction. She was very conscious of my time constraints and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was promptly sorted out. Thank you so much, it is rare to have such a calm and understanding experience at a pharmacy, and having a bad day already, I left feeling very well cared and advocated for. read more

At first, I thought something was off about this Target. There was an eerie quality about it, and I couldn't place my finger on it. Then I realized that it was just really quiet (there was no music... {do Targets usually play music in their stores...?} and it wasn't that busy, so there was barely any noise). Even though I got a creepy vibe from this store, I thought it was clean and had good prices. A lot of the items I needed had reduced prices (and I mostly bought snacks... were they close to expiring or something?) so that was cool. There's a wide selection of items and I found everything I needed. I used the photo center once and they were super quick with printing my pictures. I uploaded the pictures I wanted and placed the order online. About a minute or so later, I received an email saying that the pictures were printed and ready for pick-up! The workers were friendly, and I even talked about TV shows that I don't watch with one of the cashiers. This would be my go-to Target if I were to return to Portland! read more
