Although the Dollar Tree has more of a variety of household items, I think I like 5 Below a little better. We didn't walk through the entire store from end to end and look at everything, because there was so much to look at and we were excited to check stuff out, but it has some nice stuff! From T-shirts, shoes and work out clothes to decoration pillows, candies, party stuff, phone accessories. There's also a huge Halloween section right now! Better then the Dollar Tree, I'd say. If you like to send things by Air Mail, they you probably enjoy shopping at Aeropostale, because…read morethat's what it sounds like to me. However, when you see the prices of some of this trendy teenybopper stuff, you may "go postale." I was last in this store not too long ago after I heard that the food court here was closing down forever. I made 3 or 4 trips to my fave Greek place in the food court and then also did some shopping. This included picking up some Xmas gifts at places like Abercrombie and Aero. I find that this Aero is a little quieter than the Galleria one, and actually has a few more items in it, especially around holiday time. The guy helping me was very nice, he told me a few things I didn't know about sizes and such. Still, the prices were a little high for my tastes. That's what sucks about Xmas. You have to buy the stuff in time for the big day, then 2 weeks later, everything is on half price sale. Basically each of the Aero stores I've shopped at in Buffalo is the same. Galleria, Eastern Hills, and Boulevard. All are inside a mall. All have young employees and young clientele. All have "teeny attitude" and extremely inflated prices. But I won't lie, people look very good in their clothes. I even (blush) have some of their clothes myself, although I don't wear them anymore. I can totally see why other people do, though. Did you know an Aero is a chocolate bar in the UK? It's pretty good, too. I think Rowntree makes it. Or Mars.

There were half empty clothes racks that looked like a cross between a Burlington (not my favorite) and a good will store. I expected something more on the line of a TJ Maxx. Though the prices looked decent, nothing appealed to me. I didn't see anything that would draw me back. One exception was the infant section. There seemed to be name brands at decent prices. 2024-17

They have really thoughtful organizing (especially compared to other thrift/vintage/second-hand stores) with everything clearly organized by size and type of item, then typically by color within that, so it's really easy to find items that will fit you. A great selection of accessories like shoes, bags, and jewelry too! The selling process always goes very smoothly too. The website and their social media have lots of clear info on how the process works and what kinds of items they're looking for, and really makes what could be a complicated process super simple.

This trendy label appeals to the younger, fashion-conscious, crowd. And then scattered throughout the store, especially in the back, there are styles that look a bit dated and ordinary. There are some high-price designer items as well. I think their jewelry section is rather blah. I've never bought jewelry from them. All sorts of used handbags and practically new shoes. Both my teenage daughter and I have bought clothes from here. Something for everyone. What I like about consigning my gently used clothes with this business is that they itemize the clothing that you give them. When the consignment period is over in 3 months, you know exactly which item sold and how much money you will get for it. Unlike another consignment store in the area that just gives you a number for your items and never tells you exactly what sold. Becomes a mystery. And then you have to hunt all over the place to find your items that didn't sell if you want them back. But here, I ask for items that don't sell back and they keep them for me to pick up within a window of time. They take appointments on their website for consigning your things the first few days of the month only. It's very organized and I appreciate that. They may not take many of the items you hope to consign. But at least they're honest and organized.

Andddddd, unlike Lane Bryant, don't try charging you $60+ for that pair of pants. I called earlier in the day to ask whether they sold long/tall sizes in store, or just online, and the associate confirmed that they did. I came by later that evening and the same associate was still working. She was friendly and helpful, without being roll-your-eyes obnoxiously attentive. When I mentioned I had never been there before, she told me a brief history of the store, even mentioning that this location has been open for 11 years now. She was super apologetic when they did not have many options in my size, but immediately offered to call another store (Niagara Falls, NY, reviewed separately) and see what they had in stock that they could hold for me. The store was bright, clean, and very modern. You would have had no idea that it's been there for over a decade. Their prices are WAY more reasonable than Lane Bryant, though the clothes do tend to lean towards a younger crowd. Tip: This location closes at 8pm on weeknights!
