I've been here multiple times to grab some single cards, and overall it's been a great experience…read more Customer service is really nice every time I go (usually on chill days), they're quick, helpful, and on top of everything. The ambiance can get a bit loud since there are table games happening behind the counter, but it's not really distracting. It actually adds a bit of energy to the place. The staff member who helped me had really good vibes, which made the visit even better. Definitely worth checking out if you're into cards. I'd recommend going in the afternoon when it's less busy so you can get the best experience and they value the card based on TCG player price!

The shop is pretty solid for Gundam and Pokémon and One Piece locally. That said, service and value…read moredo need to be addressed. On the service side: Pretty poor honestly. Body language, eye contact, and tone are lacking. I understand the hobby demographic is not high class, but from the 4 visits I've had, the employees behind the counter show less care and attention. Probably a generational issue, but in business, that doesn't matter. Proper training should be issued. Though I am also sure they would use AI to formulate a "proper" response to any concerns or complaints about what they lack. Value wise: I requested to match or get close to market value from TCG player on product, and they rejected it statong that they dont follow market since they have to make money too "you know what I mean?" This has been a trend on LGS it seems, however one LGS in Artesia/Cerritos met my request despite card/cash payment. I'm pretty sure the script would later be flipped when the market goes up after supply drops with the response of "sorry marketing value is this so we follow that." If you can ignore all that, go for it. Otherwise just look for another store or go to Card shows.

L & C Coins is located in Los Alamitos, near the Los Alamitos race track near the corner of Katella…read moreAve. and Winner's Circle. L&C told me that they will pay 2 cents for almost all circulated Lincoln cents, regardless of their condition (nearly uncirculated, for example). Buy they are selling Lincoln pennies that are much worse for $75. That's quite a mark-up, to buy at 2 cents and sell the same penny (or worse) for $75. The price that they charge for coins is excessive. They refuse to show pennies that they have for sale. Much could be seen in person that cannot be seen from pictures on their website. They say that it would violate their security protocols to show coins, and they said that they are not a museum, so they won't show coins. I would suggest that you don't try to sell coins at L&C. I would suggest that you don't try to buy coins at L&C. They are greedy and don't make fair appraisals. This begs the question, why are they endorsed by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company)? Surely this endorsement isn't deserved if they unfairly rate customer's coins and their own coins. Could that endorsement be based on knowledge? If so, the greed of L&C overpowered their sense of fairness. I think that L&C chose their "horse track" location to bilk coins out of down-on-their luck horse gamblers, who are forced to sell their coin collections and are too drunk to know when they are being low-balled. I have not tried other businesses, but I'm going to try their competitors instead. Perhaps: OC Rare Coins Southern California Coins Coin Corner American Coin Hallock Pawn (Lincoln Avenue, Anaheim). I would not suggest Lincoln Pawn, because they don't accept pennies (only silver), and pay 1/2 of the cost of silver content, and have rules against buying silver coins based on the value of the coin unless they are certified and graded. Currently, Ebay is the best place that I know of to buy and sell coins. Some websites claim that L&C coin has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB). However, the BBB claims that they are not listed on their website, and therefore don't have a BBB rating.

I love Michael's…read more But unfortunately, I don't even bother with the only one thats close to me due to the employee's that work that store.... They are ridiculous with profiling people!! They think everybody is in there to steal so they'll either blatantly follow you around or take the more low-key approach and you'll notice they just so happen to start stocking shelves in the same aisle you're browsing in. They also like to do this thing where they announce over the P.A. system "Long Beach P.D. - Line One" to make you think they have called the police on you to get people out of the store!

I truly do not have enough words to describe how unbelievably awful our experience has been with…read morethe custom framing department at Michael's. Specifically, with Kristen. My sweet, very patient mother has now had to make FOUR separate trips to fix a painting they originally damaged and incorrectly framed. Each time, instead of taking accountability or offering even the most basic apology, Kristen somehow found multiple different things to blame -- none of them being the store. We dropped the piece off for the FINAL time in December. December. We never received a call. Not once. After multiple attempts to reach the store by phone (which went unanswered or unreturned), we finally had to physically go today (in February) to see if the artwork was complete. And instead of even a simple, "We're so sorry for the inconvenience," we were met with callous, passive-aggressive energy and the most aggressively condescending tone I have ever encountered in a retail setting. No ownership. No apology. No professionalism. Just attitude. Shame on you, Kristen! I have genuinely never dealt with someone so unhelpful and unprofessional in all my years at any store anywhere. It was shocking. We will absolutely never bring another piece here again as long as she is employed. There are too many businesses that value their customers to waste time being treated like an inconvenience for expecting basic competence and courtesy. Save yourself the stress and take your artwork elsewhere.
