My husband went to the shop to get a couple of yards of gravel for our court yard this morning. And he came back within half a hour with their delivery truck! We live close to them but according to him, the guy at the store sensed that we needed the gravel today and he said that they can deliver now! This was our first time using Burien Bark. I selected them because they had a specific bark I wasn't able to find anywhere else. I called ahead to make sure they had plenty in stock and was given good advice to show up early because it sells out by afternoon. My husband said they were super efficient and friendly. Everything went very smoothly, everyone wearing masks, and he said he had barely finished paying and within a very brief time, two men showed up, loaded the bags and he was on his way! Even though there are closer places, this is now our go-to place for bark and other landscaping supplies. Fantastic, friendly and very responsive customer service (via email, on the phone and in person...we had lots of questions, which they were more than happy to answer). They showed up at our place right when they said they would and were able to dump our mulch in a couple locations on our front lawn without any issues (again, very friendly service). I order to make some sand and soil no gravel no compost at it for a lawn top dressing. What I got was soil and a lot of gravel. The gravel was a size of pit rut and pea gravel so much as when I spread it that's all you saw on top of the grass this is unacceptable. I called and they gave me the manager basically he led me into thinking it was my fault not theirs it is theirs I assume there is no quality control at this place. They said they assured me that grass would go but there are so many rocks I have spent 2 days raking all the gravel off my lawn and there is still gravel there. I am not a contractor so maybe that's why The manager didn't really care. He said he would send more material out but why do I want the same Bad product. He said they had better soils they could have used but I was never made aware of this from their sales person I'm not even sure they understood what I was doing. Nevertheless I will not be using this company for any kind of projects. They were polite they were calm but they did not give a crud. read more

As close as it was for them to quitting time, we said we'd like it delivered the next day, but if at all possible, we could take it that afternoon. This is a seemingly small business with somewhat of an akward parking area but I have never had any problems getting in and out of there with what I need quickly. I do alot of work in my yard at home and pick up loads of pea gravel, compost, bark and cedar chips fairly often. Their prices are pretty fair and their delivery prices are generally cheaper than most places. read more

I mean, come on. 30 bucks for a yard of bark? What's not to like? I went in early on a Saturday morning, and the place was hopping. They dumped a generous yard in my trailer, and I was off. We picked up a half load of compost after 1pm on a Sunday. Paid for a full load and said, "See ya in a bit." And the girl said, "Okay!" They closed at 2pm!! Yelp says 3pm! We wouldn't have started this project if we knew we wouldn't be able to finish it. Simple customer service would have been nice - a warning about the closing time perphaps? Girl was super rude too. These guys have saved my...uh...bacon so many times. Most recently, I bought two ginormous planters that had to be forklifted into my pick-up. When I got home I realized I had no way to get them out. Stopped in to Burien Bark and asked if they had any suggestions. An hour later two guys and a backloader showed up to save me. Cost? "Just tip the guys," said the owner.
