My husband and I just took our four children to lunch. My husband had eaten there before and has not stopped raving about the food. The food was delicious, but to me that is not what is notable about our experience. We were greeted with a genuine smile and seated quickly. Our waitress came to our table and asked the kids about their summer and took a genuine personal interest. I'm sad to report that I wasn't impressed with the food that I ordered anyway. Advertised potato and bacon SOUP, was horrible! First of all, you could have cut it with a knife! More like the texture of oatmeal, not soup! NO BACON in it either that I could find. Told server this and she was very nice and took it off of our bill, I think, as when we received the bill, wasn't itemized, just an amount to pay. The Burgers? Excellent! Fresh and full of flavor the whole wheat bun was surprisingly a great choice as well as perfectly fresh. My son and i had the American and the my husband had the Aussie. Both very good. I highly recommend the parmesan fries and the Italian beer! We will be back and all said we had to try all the different burgers. read more

Loved my Tuna burger best burger I had. Although the food was great the service is mediocre. I ask for a side of salad with my burger and asked for sesame dressing and the waiter said they dont have that kind of dressing. And so when i got my order the dressing im looking for is the sauce on my burger. The waiter was nowhere to be find after he got the payment. read more

Found Burgerhause on groupon, and thought we'd give it a try. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but is decorated tastefully. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip appetizer. It was delicious, loaded with artichoke hearts, and a huge portion for 6.00. I had the Yucatan burger and my husband had the Aussie, both ordered medium. Both burgers were very good, and actually cooked to a perfect medium, and not overdone. A big plus in my book. The service was very good, and the prices seemed reasonable for the quality of the food. Some of the tables along the wall looked kind of crowded together, but fortunately we got a decent table. Also, I really appreciated eating my burger off of a real plate, and not a plastic basket. read more

Good but not great. I think a good burger should be able to speak for itself. All the burgers here are masked with huge buns and sauces that take over the flavor of the meal. The burger is not the main star of their dishes as it should be, instead I'm left munching on the bun. read more

I wrote earlier (12/30/12) that the burgers were 1/4 lb. The owner, Evan C. responded that the burgers are 6 oz. Today, April 21, 2013, I received a Groupon ad. In 3 different places the burgers are described as "1/4lb. burgers." Maybe the burgers "portioned" at "6 oz." but even the advertising from this company agree they are serving "1/4lb." burgers. read more

In town the other day to visit family, and I had Schoops on the brain. My nephews on the other hand demanded burgerhaus, which I had never heard of. Normally I would steer clear of a Costas business, but they said their fries were amazing. The restaurant was half full when we arrived. Seating was comfortable, but seating for five of us required a chair at the end of a booth, not my fave. We were quickly greeted, and beverages were dispatched very fast. Our server, a young man with a neat beard was exemplary. My husbands cherry coke had real grenadine, and refills were quickly delivered. The fried pickles were recommended, and are a MUST order. Quality pickles, salty and flavorful were in a crispy piping hot tempura served with a savory ranch that was delightful. Our server timed things perfectly, and our meals arrived within minutes of our table being cleared of appetizer plates. I had ordered the American, my husband got a cheeseburger, nephews got sliders and chicken strips, and my vegetarian brother got a veggie black bean burger. Fries are served in small individual baskets, and it's very clear they were seasoned well right out of the fryer. My burger was cooked perfectly, and I was so pleased with our service. Originally I had given this establishment a 4/5 but must change it. My only gripe was so dumb, I had to change it. However, I will complain about it and give the star back. If you are going to serve amazing fries, crisp, tender and delicious......you must pony up for Heinz ketchup. Red gold is not awful, but it sure isn't Heinz. Do the right thing burgerhaus, lol. Stopped last night really looking forward to trying the place based on the reviews. I had the Burger of the month-the Lexicon. It was topped with pulled pork an onion ring with chipotle mayo. The pulled pork was purchased and looked and tasted like the prepackaged stuff from the super market. The onion was soggy from the over application of the chipotle mayo. The star and focus of any burger should be the meat. From their menu I was expecting something special. It wasn't even a hand formed patty, but your typical McDonald's 1/4 pounder burger. The flavor of the pasty like pulled pork with over abundance of the mayo drowned the flavor of the meat and took over the sandwich. The chipotle mayo had no hint of heat and actually tasted sweet and I wonder if the chef used the wrong one. I was underwhelmed and when the check arrived for the burger and two beers it was $27.00 more disappointing. I've had $20.00 burgers in Midtown Manhattan that were worth the price of admission. Perhaps if I'd ordered regular burger I would of had a better experience. In this case not so much. read more

Started out a good night, hostess & bartender both super friendly. Got seated and it went downhill. Seated almost 10 minutes before being acknowledged, had 2 different servers sort of look at us but kept walking. Finally had our waitress come and no apology for our wait just a causal oh so you hit the bar already snide comment. Had to ask her what the burger of the month is and then she didn't seem too sure she had to hand us a print out explaining it, maybe learn it, wasn't that complicated. Asked for both of our burgers medium they both came out medium well. She didn't come back to check on us until we were both almost done with our meals. Clearly she couldn't be bothered with us, brought us out our check & disappeared at least another 10 minutes. Needles to say her tip was getting smaller. Food was decent but didn't need or appreciate the attitude of our waitress. Maybe be a bit nicer and you'll get a better tip. No rush to go back. Good beer selection, nice place, poor service ruined it. read more

They have 10 burgers, and after our first trip, I know we'll be back at least 9 more times to try all the others. I had the Tuscan, which had tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella, and onions. When I do, I will add an update here. Hopefully my treatment this time was a fluke. We'll see.* I have been to Burgerhaus (eat in) twice in the past: once at the bar with my fiancee (I love the Peroni on tap) and once with my parents. both times were ok-- no problems with the food / service but not exceptional in either regard. Today, I went into Burgerhaus with my three Aunts today (to celebrate one Aunt's birthday) and I had an exceptionally poor food and service. Based on that, I will not be returning. To begin with, the music was way too loud. On top of that, my aunt is very hard of hearing and kindly asked our server to turn down the music. We did not think it would be such a big problem since there were only two other tables with people at them. The woman was very unresponsive and had a snotty attitude. She said we can only adjust it between two numbers and tried to blow her off. When my aunt asked for the manager, the waitress said the manager was busy because s/he came in late and then said she could go turn the music down. I have no idea why that was such a big deal. Then, as for food, it was ok. The fries were good but mine were cold. Though, my sandwich was unquestionably bad. I asked for extra mustard instead of mayo and my sandwich arrived with a 1/4inch thick layer of mustard on both the top and bottom buns; it was inedible as it was served to me. Moreover, it was overcooked. I would have loved to send it back, but our server was absent. Again, she could have only had one or two more tables because the restaurant was relatively empty, so she could not have been busy. I don't know why she was not available. I was really appalled at my experience for the price. I could have gone down the street to Schoop's and had better prepared food and much better service. And, in the future, I will be going to Schoop's or any other restaurant for a burger because my experience at Burgerhaus was so poor. I rather not pay more for mediocre food and be treated rudely. read more

Terrible experience! Took the family to dinner tonight and likely will never return. Waited about 10 minutes for a table which was absolutely fine. Sat down, ordered dinner and drinks at the same time to save time and then that's when things went south. After about 30 minutes we asked about our order and where told it will be ready in 7 minutes. Then after another 10 minutes we were told they had new guys cooking and they were backed up. Keep in mind it was a Thursday night in a place 2/3 full. After finally getting our order, about an hour after we sat down, the manager (owner) came over to apologize and gave us an envelope with a gift card. We finished our dinner received our bill and I come to find that we were comped one glass of wine for a dinner of 5. The gift card in the envelope was for $15, that's not only insulting, it's a lack of respect for your customer basically saying that's all for you, come back if you want. I think people feel they have to like this place for variety of reasons and most do not center around the food or service. If I could give this experience zero stars I would but Yelp requires at least one. Before leaving I once again asked a staff member to express my feelings to the "manager" and this time he didn't even come out. If you want a great gourmet burger and friendly service, go to Octave in Chesterton and don't waste your time here. read more

Went here last night for a date night and decided to try something new. I had the special of the month (Rio de Janeiro burger) and it was fabulous! I kept telling people last night about it and the first thing I said to my wife this morning was "that burger was awesome", not even good morning! I can't say enough about how good it was. Limited Menu. Limited Beer Selection. Our experience was overall okay at worst and great at best. I expected a big juicy burger, but think more in the direction of Schoops and Steak n Shake for burger size. Quality made up for lack of size in the patty, but at 10 dollars a burger, it's a little costly for the size. The fries were fries, you can dress up a potato all you want, at the end of the day it's still a potato. They were crispy, thick, and an excellent compliment to the juicy (yet small) burger. My only real problem was the lack of variety and questionable service. More cheeses, more appetizers, more beer. Period. The server was nice and prompt, the food was hot and fresh, but we ordered two cheddar bacon burgers, one medium one medium well, no toppings but the cheese n bacon. My fellow diners burger was medium well (what I ordered) and mine was medium but with a shit ton of onions (lazily cut)...no one ordered that...also the cheese on our burgers was either white cheddar or Swiss, either way, not what we envisioned. The food was good, but sharp cheddar and provolone are my fav cheeses on burgers. (of course they don't have em). The fries will prolly stay "almost famous" until they do something to make them different from other fries. Correct service is cool too. I tried this place because I love bugers. You would think that a restaurant that specializes in burgers would be able to do it right. I stopped in for a to go order during a weekday afternoon. I order the Haus Burger with swiss and an artichoke app. The burger was poorly put together. It seemed as if they had put enough pepper on half of it to season 5 burgers. I was not able to even stomach finishing this sandwich. I was very dissapointed. read more

Well I was one of the people that would recommend this place to my friends. I told multiple people to go and try it. Well after todays experience that will be the last dollar of my money they see. The burger was bland and the service was horrible. I sat at my table for 5-8 minutes with an empty glass until I got another waiter to go get my waiter for a refill. By the time he got back with my refill my food was cold. When I asked for a manager he was proud to say it was him my sorry excuse for a waiter. I was not even busy at the time I was in there. And when I explained the burger was bland and the service was poor he could not understand why. He never came to check on us. I wish the restaurant luck with people like that running it. And at no point should I have to explain to someone who is supposed to be a manager on how he should do his job. read more

Been here a handful of times and I have left satisfied everytime. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable on the craft brews that are offered. It's gives off that hip new age grill. I've started off with the brushetta and artichoke dip. The brushetta toppings were very fresh and had a good clean flavor. I'm not huge on artichokes (the significant other is) and I found the dip enjoyable. Large chunks of artichokes throughout and the pita chips are made in house and really nice and chewy. Pick a burger, you can't go wrong. I'm personally an Aussie myself and it's always phenomenal. They staff will match the brew or wine to your entrée. It's expensive but the selection is very good and the quality is top notch. Would love to see these scattered about. read more

The girl asked a man and I overheard him say ABSOLUTELY NOT. I asked for a total and they couldn't give me a total. Really, this is 2013 and you can't take a credit card over the phone. My husband loves burgers so we thought we would try Burgerhaus. Not impressed. Very crowded seating. I felt I was part of the conversation at the tables on either side of me. I thought by the name, Burgerhaus, we would get a fresh juicy burger. We were not asked how we wanted it cooked. Should have asked more questions about the menu. We got an overcooked frozen patty. If it was not frozen, then it was poor quality beef. It reminded me of "Burger King" patties. I don't see a return visit. read more
