The Factory Pub N Grub is found among old factories and warehouses. Among the more interesting places to drink and eat. You can get cheaper beers along with a few vegetarian choices so great stuff. Coming here the first time it wasn't crowded. It's got a bigger than expected interior. The bar is in the middle and there's plenty of tables. A great thing is they have discounted beers. It's about $2 to get beers they're trying to get rid of from previous events or whatever. A lot of the menu is meaty. Still there's a few plant based things. It's about $15 for an Impossible Burger. This comes with the usual burger toppings. Great place with an industrial hipness about it. It's closed Sundays. The menu is meaty but there's a few things for vegetarians.

The food is good- not fine dining but a solid filet with good pasta dishes with rotating choice veggies or potatoes. The service is great- staff are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is a standard large room with tables so nothing very special about it, but the lighting is warm and friendly enough to feel welcomed. Wine glass pours are pretty large so you get great value for your money there! The pear martini is also fantastic. Overall, there a reason why I keep coming back on work trips- solid steaks, friendly staff, and generous wine pours.

I'd been wanting to try this place, but it is well-off the beaten path in Nelson, Illinois…read more How far you ask? Around 10 minutes from Dixon proper, with lots of small roads to get there. But I went just the same. This is decor wise, a simple bar. Tables are available, and a separate room is to what I think was the south (left side as you enter). There were slot machines along the wall and the the room to the south. The mens room was nice and clean, and had good water pressure. No bad smells! I ordered lunch. After asking what was good - the menu was pretty extensive and had a bunch of options, I kept remembering the chicken reviews, so I went with the chicken fingers and fries. The Root Beer soft drink server was down for maintenance, so I ended up with a lemonade. The chicken fingers didn't disappoint. They were served fresh from the fryer, and somehow held the heat quite well - better than the usual fast food fare. I agree, the breading was out of this world in terms of lightness - it was very good, and the chicken tasted fresh and good. I found the fries to be good as well. The Cole slaw could have used something more - it was a bit on the bland side. Give yourself some time, take the drive, and try the place out. The server was quite pleasant. Keep in mind, there is a 3% upcharge if you use a credit card, which isn't unusual.

This little casual place is right along the Rock River out in the middle of the countryside. The gravel parking was plentiful but chaotic. There is also a boat dock if you want to. This is a cash only establishment, we did not know this when we decided to go, but luckily, it wasn't a problem for us this evening. There was live music being played with several people dancing to it. As I mentioned, you may dine inside or outside on the patio under umbrellas at picnic tables. We were unclear if you ordered at the table or inside, but eventually, a waitress came out and said you could order at the table or order inside, and they would bring it out. Our server was outstanding. She had many tables and did fantastic making sure everyone was well taken care of. The menu was pretty varied, and everything that was ordered at our table was enjoyed by those who ordered it. We started with drinks and an appetizer platter, they were both very good. The burger was very good and served with your choice of toppings and sides. we ordered the fresh fruit, and it didn't disappoint as it was fresh and cold. Someone ordered a chicken wrap. It was very good with unique flavors. We ordered the beef taco salad and it didn't disappoint. We will definitely go back and try a couple of the other things on the menu.
