Came to the window, already visibly ready to fight. I told her I needed my sundae still. She argued with me, saying that I had told her I got one (a reasonable misunderstanding). Still, she was intensely focused on being right. And kept telling me that I had told her I got a sundae (though she was the only person working the second window) Eventually she stormed off, made the sundae. Gave it to me through the window without a single word spoken, let the window shut, and stormed off She also forgot to give me my drink, but it was clear she was upset so I just left. Ordered a simple cheeseburger they have as a combo with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and ketchup. The burger tasted, atrocious with the first bite. Out of curiosity we opened up the burger, and to no surprise was a dried patty, that had TWO types of the same American cheese. One was freshly out on, but on the opposite side of the patty there was an orange/brown slice of cheese that was dried INTO the patty itself and would easily flake off when touched. DO NOT RISK GETTING SICK here, absolutely disgusted. Not much we can do about this as getting a "replacement" burger would be no different considering old/dirty food is being used. I'm not one for fast food; however, my go to place is the Burger King on Eureka Way in Redding, CA. Tonight I went and ordered a meal and when I got to the window, I told the cashier that I had forgotten to order a 10 piece chicken nugget. The young guy at the window stated that they are not allowed to add items to any order at the window.  I asked when did that start, he replied that he had only been there 4 months and it has always been that way.  I looked behind me and there was only one car behind me. I pulled around the building and ordered the nuggets and by the time I got the window, the car was gone. I paid and received my order in less than one minute.  This time it was a different cashier, the original stood several feet back and just watched. I had a dog in the car that I just picked up from the vet, he had just been neutered and all I wanted was to get food and go home after a 10 hour shift. They closed the dining room some time back, due to not having enough employees to work the dining room.  I completely understand and I know the hardship that we all are having to find employees. But here is the thing, treat your customers right! Without the customers, you will not need the employees. Sometimes a dining experience is about something more than just the food. Sometimes it is about glimpsing an aspect of life through a particular viewpoint, at a particular point in time with a certain special person. Sometimes it is about reflecting upon life's moments and the journey we take along our chosen paths. You see, this Burger King restaurant is very significant to my wife and I. As young newlyweds we lived just a few short blocks from here. We were the classic struggling young couple. I was attending Shasta College, and my wife was working to support us at this very Burger King. She would walk to work where she was one of the shift supervisors. We still talk about how she was an expert at working the drive through back then. While my chicken sandwich today was not very good, and the fries were borderline terrible, we still had a fun lunch together. We reminisced on our life together and the moments we shared together more than 35 years ago. I can't really recommend this place for good food, but I did enjoy my lunch today with my wonderful wife, who has stayed with me all these years! :-) I love you, Deb! read more

I visit this Burger King frequently, since it's close to home and Whoppers are a guilty pleasure of mine. The staff here are usually friendly and helpful. They were a little slow once or twice, but I think that's mostly because of new employees who were still unfamiliar with the registers and processes. Their old slogan of "Have it your way." is still alive and well here. Want a quadruple whopper with bacon, hold the tomato? You got it. I have yet to be turned down for any special orders, and I like to experiment with my orders sometimes, which those building the burgers appear to find kind of funny and entertaining, rather than irritating. I have a young son who gets the chicken nugget kid's meal. His one complaint is that they don't change the toys often enough, and they never have much of a variety when it comes the toys they give out. He likes the food though, and prefers the original fries to the new Satisfries. This particular location seems to be popular with the homeless and transient population of Redding. Usually, they're harmless, taking shelter from the heat or rain with a coffee or a free water. Occasionally I've walked up to the restaurant while some creepy looking dude is in the process of getting arrested in their parking lot. Still, I've never felt threatened by anyone, and I have no problem bringing my 6 year old kid here. I still keep a close eye on my bike when I have it parked in the front though. I will continue to visit this Burger King. Don't let the grungy looking dude wearing a winter coat in the dead of summer outside bother you. He doesn't bite... that I'm aware of. read more
