This morning, after dropping my wife off at work, we decided that I would pick up breakfast from Wienerschnitzel and bring it back to her. Since I was hungry as well, it seemed like a great plan. I arrived at the drive-thru at 6:55 AM and waited until 7:01 AM, but the drive-thru sign had not yet been turned on. I proceeded to the window, where I was warmly greeted by a friendly and professional young lady who asked for my order. As I browsed the menu on my phone, she patiently waited, and after placing my order, I paid. Throughout our interaction, she remained courteous and even apologized for the slight delay in preparing my food. While I appreciated her consideration, the delay was understandable given the early hour. If the drive-thru sign had been on, I likely would have received my food a bit sooner, but it was a minor issue. I ordered a Bacon Breakfast Burrito Combo and a Bacon Croissant Combo--both of which were absolutely delicious. What stood out most during my visit was the employee's attention to detail. When asking about the coffee, she inquired, "Would you like cream and sugar in your coffee, or how would you like it?" Anyone who knows my wife knows she enjoys her cream and sugar with her Coffee. When I mentioned that she prefers it very creamy but not too sweet, the employee thoughtfully responded, "Would seven creamers be good?" I agreed and requested about four or five packets of sugar. This level of attentiveness is what truly elevates customer service. Employees who pay this much attention to detail not only deserve recognition but also consideration for advancement within the company. OMGosh, we love the chain and this location has been a nice "go to" for many years. Sister and I usually use the drive-through, but today went in for the restroom (not ready for customers today), the A/C (wonderful!), and check out in the interior. Recently, the interior seating updated and refreshed. The outside of the building has been painted, keeping the brand coloring of read and bright yellow. That said, I'll admit I still prefer carnival or fair-style corn dogs over these. Service here has always been friendly and courteous, which makes a difference. The location itself is just okay--nothing special--and prices do feel a little high for the amount of food you get. But to be fair, food costs are rising everywhere, so I can't single them out for that. At the end of the day, I don't go to Wienerschnitzel for health food or gourmet dining--I go for nostalgia. Very longtime resident of Redding, sometime in food, service, industry, and restaurant visiting lunch guy. The fact that they charge me four dollars for a cup of water and an ounce of syrup somehow bothered me. Service was good. The food was consistent. I was just blown away a complete sticker shock moment when I got the receipt for my mustard dog and medium soda and it was over eight dollars. I'll be back. It is one of my time food indulgences. For starters ALL food service workers need to be compliant with the codes and this establishment is not following any. No hair nets, no washing of hands, no gloves, nothing. Touching of face, clothing, hair, other objects was consistent of them making mine and other individuals food items. Not to mention a woman here washed my drink cup off in the DISH SINK and tried to give it to me. I never order from fast food restaurants online, but I decided to, because I wanted to customize 2 veggie hot dogs I was getting. Those come on my son's corn dog come up and French fries and 2 floats we're ready 6 minutes later and all we had to do is go up to the drive-through tell them we were here for a prepaid online order. We have actually been here around a dozen times in the past year, and never have we once had an issue or had to wait more than 5 minutes in the drive-thru. read more

Older location, could use some updates, but the food and staff are great. Oh and bathrooms require a key, ask up front. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, it's what I expected from a Weinschnitzel, which is what matters, it wasn't old or half cooked. I ordered 5 chili dogs without a bun and added cheese, they put a lot of cheddar on each dog, and a lot of chili. There are definitely some updates to the store needed unfortunately, it's just old, some areas need to be repainted, old benches, bathrooms need updates, etc, and that's my only complaint. It feels old, a fresh coat of lawyer or paint and some buffing out scratches would honestly solve those issues if they're not going to overhaul the whole store, which is unlikely. I have not been for quite some time, but I thought I would take advantage of National Hot Dog Day when Wienerschnitzel offered 4 chili dogs for $4. The chili was not the same as I remember from a year or two ago, it was coarser and dryer than I remembered. The hot dog itself had an odd kind of greasy aftertaste. This place is DISGUSTING and filthy. Do not eat here unless you want to get sick or would like a taste of rat feces. There are traps in the back, cockroaches crawling around in the kitchen, rats...a rat actually walked into the back one time. The owner REUSES the drippings of the ice cream you're getting...he literally opens the lid and pours it back in and chews out his employees if they throw it away. Sometimes he keeps bags of it in the refrigerator until it separates and goes bad. Who knows what else he cuts corners with, which you are then eating and drinking. So gross! He must have an "in" with the health department because they've come in and haven't said anything about the disgusting bug traps littering the place full of flies, or the roaches or any of it. So someone needs to get it together and do something about this because someone will get sick if they haven't already. They also like to yell at employees in front of customers and tell them how disgusting they are, and leave things in such disrepair that light fixtures and roof tiles have almost fallen on employees heads. Let's face it it's not gourmet dining but I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. i've been going here for over 20 years and the staff is always friendly and ever since Covid when the Drive through line is long they will come out take your money and bring you your food so you can get out of the line if somebody in front of you is holding it up which is nice and saves time.
