I don't usually go to Burger King. I never really cared for it. Stopped in today and was pleasantly surprised. Inside was clean, staff were friendly and attentive. The food came out hot, fresh and exactly as ordered. (A lot of places, recently, seem to be rushing, messing up orders and they have a problem with not checking their orders before they go out) Prices are usually a bit high but I checked the deals in their app and got a great deal. I had the Whopper Jr 2 times this past week and both times very good. Fresh veggies, bun and tasty. Fries were also good. Nice clean restaurant. Only down fall no free refills on drinks. I can see maybe one free refill but understand it can be a challenge to track. The staff is very friendly. The only con is one toilet. read more

Stood in an empty front lobby, after pulling into an empty parking lot with an empty drive thru and still waited 10 mins for someone to even take my order. When someone, FINALLY, came out, they didn't even greet me just "So are you ready to order?" and then they acted like i'm such an inconvenience by just placing an order. Burger king is burger king. Nothing special really. But the service is what makes different. Bandit and I were so hungry after hiking around the volcano park for 8 hours. It was past 8am and most of the eateries nearby already ending their dine-in store hours. Goodness this closest fast food we can ever grab something faster is open! Went through the drive-thru and as usual it's so slow like most drive-thrus are. Ordered salad, double cheese burger and crosscut french fries. Pretty impressed on the salad coz it was refreshing and crunch & I am so glad I ordered it. French fries is a bit soggy and for the cheeseburger is just the same with other burger king. The service is fair enough. They did the best they can to serve you good. We were stuck in the drive through with only 1 car in front of us for the longest we've ever, ever waited. Would've left but there was a car behind us, so we waited about 15 minutes just to order. Then when we got to the window, the lead car was still waiting for food. The cars behind us hadn't even ordered yet. I assume this is a money laundering business. If corporate stopped by this place would be shut down immediately. I had to go to a Burger King in Hilo just to confirm that its only the Pahoa location on BI that is this bad. I always wondered why there was always a line for their competitor across the street, and crickets at this BK. For the record, I have been to this place half a dozen times,(every time a new commercial came out) until I learned to get BK in Hilo. This location in Pahoa is the slowest moving drive thru ever. And there was only two other vehicles in front of me. It was taking so long, I turned off my vehicle to save my gas. I angry ate my spicy chicken sandwich and onion rings, which cost $11.18 It was just after sunset so dark, but the sign with the food and prices was impossible to read. What made it worse is their order screen (which has been broken forever) is lit up like the Fourth of July, making it even harder to read the sign. If I had been able to read that the sandwich would cost $7.69, I WOULDN'T HAVE ORDERED IT. Prices like this are serous and piss me off, especially in Pahoa. Fairly good experience, just had to wait about 8-10 mins. for our order. Counter person pleasant and orderly. Food came out tasting fresh and hot, just wish the fries had been cooked but longer, they were albino and didn't seem fully cooked. Was nice to see the Whoppers haven't changed much in size and quality over the years as it had been several since having the Whopper. We got the 2 meals for 15.00 which seemed fair but paid extra to upsize from small fry/soda to medium. The ketchup dispenser was oddly very thin/ runny dripping off the fries? And I know it's due to cost but hate when no napkin dispensers available without having to go up and ask for them (and salt)! But overall good experience and we'd go back. read more

Be aware that some of the employee's at this eatery Burger King are prone to not wearing masks and allowing their friends that are at the counter to NOT wear a mask. Tonight we went in...to order and a "Pacific Islander" women with a small child was standing at the counter talking with one of the "Pacific Islanders that was an employee of Burger King standing there talking to her. Guessing it could have been her child and mother? Neither had masks on. She only very slowly put on her mask after I asked the person behind the counter "where is her mask". Then when she took our one order of two for $9.00 with one small drink, it came to $21 and some change. Either the sign is deceptive or she charged us for sandwiches ?? So we were trying to communicate to her what we wanted. She didn't communicate back to us......so we walked out! Again either the sign is deceptive or she needs to be trained. If I can rate a negative 10 I would. Last night I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich combo and my husband ordered a whopper combo. I pulled up to the window and was not greeted by a less than friendly employee. Didn't smile, didn't offer ketchup much less say hi. I ate the chicken sandwich and about an hour later started feeling sick. My stomach hurt and I felt super nauseous. After a half hour or pain and sweating, I finally caved and had to vomit my entire meal! I felt soooooooooo much better after I did. I know...TMI. First off, this is NOT my first time to this Burger King. I have usually had mildly-acceptable service here, but today was RIDICULOUS! It's was freaking 9:40 am (just 15 minutes ago), and the girl taking the order kept screwing it up. Then when we pulled up to the drive-thru, my husband handed her $40.17 (our total was $25.17), all while she tried handing us three of our drinks at the SAME time. Then she puts the money in the drawer, closes the drawer, and walked towards the cooking area, while talking to her co-workers. Then another workers comes to the window, reciting our order back to us, so before saying bye, my husband told her that we didn't get our change, she tells the original order taker that we didn't get our change, so she calls the manager to open the drawer, and then she hands us back our "change".....a $5 bill; my husband told her "we gave you two $20s, a dime, nickel and two pennies, so our change should be $15 NOT $5, so she hands my husband two more $5 bills, and just gave him an evil stare. This kind of service pisses me off, especially being a hospitality & business major my self, AND I'm originally from Puna so WTF is up with her damn service?! A'ole A'ole A'ole! read more
