Randomly stopped by the other day to check out their hot line. Still hands down, better than ever. This time I went for the black bean chicken, s/s pork and of course, my fav the chow mein. Did not disappoint. And the price... still reasonable (lol look at me saying $15 for 2 choice is reasonable lol. But you guys know how it is now these days. ). You silly if you don't stop by and try it out. read more

Went there for lunch today, a Monday, at about 11:30 AM. Husband and I both ordered from the steam trays: chow fun, s&s pork, sesame chicken, salt n pepper spare ribs. The server stuffed the boxes full... of tasteless, inedible, terrible food. The chicken was tough and stringy, the pork was bland, the noodles were tasteless. $35 lesson learned. So disappointing. read more

My brother went and picked up food from Lemongrass since L& was closed. First time eating here and i was very impressed. My brother had the pork chow fun and I had the shrimp chow fun. They gave large portions. I had to save half of it for later. Lots of flavor. Will come back again. read more

A worth spot for your attention. Not only do they have good tasting food, they are super clean, I pay attention to the cleanliness of things like under the stem table. Which was spotless, the tables slightly sticky, but of course we just ended the lunch crowd, and perhaps perfect would be like a five star restaurant. Salt and pepper pork and fish was delicious, we also had the combination fried rice . They also have lunch from the steam table. Lots of customers traffic meanings your food will be freshly made. read more

Found a thai food gem in the town of Keaau. We ordered several things and they were all delicious: the chicken pad thai, the cashew chicken, the honey walnut shrimp, and fried rice. So much food! And the prices are reasonable. Again, all were delicious. We got it to go, and the food came out in 5 minutes. We were met with very friendly greetings, patience while we looked at the menu, and pleasant conversation while I paid. Lots of seating in the restaurant, very clean and spacious. I'll definitely be back. read more

Any place that doesn't allow returns on food should be a red flag! Be aware that any mistake they make you'll just have to deal with. This isn't a one star because the food wasn't all bad but service is definitely a one star as there is zero accommodation. I've never been to a restaurant like that and I'll not be returning. If you buy food here get it from the hot bar and stick to Chinese as that's the only thing they know how to make authentically. It's greasy, under seasoned and over salted. Not to mention overpriced. Disappointing all around. read more

Love their special about calamari on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Definitely will be back for more!

The service is nice and the food is decent. But don't come here for dinner. At dinner time you can only pick one food option and they change 2 times as much. read more

This place has changed a lot since it first opened. Not sure if it's same owners or what happened. It used to be so good before! But the food is not even the same. We had ordered a bunch of different items for a birthday party; kind of disappointed. Sadly I don't think we will be ordering anymore. The portions were small and didn't taste too good. read more

Good food. I had the Basil Chicken. Good size portion for the price. Reasonable amount of time wait for to go order.

I found a BUG in my rice. If I had a chance to give it no stars I would. Besides that the portion is small compared to what you pay for? read more

Whenever I go to foodland, I always stop by Lemongrass to see if they have the roast pork. When they have the roast pork, I think it's one of the top plates for the price on the island. Don't get me wrong, there are other good choices too, but the roast pork is just the best. The workers there are always nice to me. It does seem kind of like a hole in the wall, but that's how you know its good! read more

Perfect little spot to grab lunch or dinner on the go! Super affordable prices and the staff is super friendly. I normally like to get the Singapore chow funn noodles with no curry sauce and they are always willing to customize it to my liking. This is normally my go-to spot because there a wide variety of different dishes to choose from. In the pics I got Singapore chow funn, charsiu chow funn and roast pork. They are also super quick, I normally call in my order and within my 10-15 min drive it's pau. I just walk up, pay and leave. I always get a good portion and enough to take for lunch the next day read more

I'm in the area pretty regularly and stop here to get lunch. The foods you're typical fare of a blend of Asian and local cuisine. It's consistently good can and you can get it fast. I like the orange chicken and the chow fun noodles. Prices seem pretty good and the staff is pretty nice. Like most places during covid they've got their dining room shut but I hope they open that up soon. It would be nice to bring my family in for dinner again. read more

Not many options and food was rather greasy and salty. Wish there was more to choose from and a bit healthier.

Two stars because I went once and yet to give another chance... I had the Basil Eggplant Tofu and for the price I expected more. This plate was so oily and bland, and only had 3 (of the cheapest) ingredients (carrots, eggplants, and onions) cut into giant chunks (most looked like cut in half or fourths) And they took so long! I ordered before going to the grocery store and still had to wait 20 min after; I was so hungry I just grabbed the food to eat at home... should've checked and said something on the spot... read more

Lol, i shoulda known not to trust a spot that has vietnamese, thai, and chinese food all mixed. I shoulda been smarter than that! I ordered a tom yum soup after hiking on a rainy day. I ordered their seafood tom yum soup to be exact with a side of rice. Their seafood tom yum comes with shrimp, scallops, and squid. Let me tell you, I didn't know if i wanted to cry or laugh when the soup came out. Presentation wise was pretty depressing. I could already tell that there wasn't going to be too much going on in the soup. It was definitely watered down tom yum soup. Their servings of the seafood was so minimal. There was probably only 2 pcs of each seafood that was listed and they were small! Not only was that depressing, but i paid over $15 for this tom yum soup! HUH?!? For that price i expected it to be at least a decent soup. other than that, customer service was decent. read more

Since having new owners, food has been different. Atmosphere feels different. Workers are rude. Hell, just calling to place an order for a party was the worse experience ever. I had to call 10 minutes later to cancel my order. That's how bad it was. This was my family's favorite place to eat. No more. read more

Order pepper beef and Tom yum soup to go The Tom yum soup was putrid! When I opened the container i was immediately disgusted by the smell. Everyone else in my party smelled it and agreed so we did not eat it at all and it was a waste of $15. We want to support small businesses but we expect decent quality meat and soups. Disappointed. read more

Their chicken pad thai and salt & pepper spare ribs used to be excellent. On my last visit on March 12, I was quite disappointed. The chicken pad thai tasted different and not as tasty, and for some reason they cut the noodles into 2" to 3" pieces. The salt & pepper ribs had a lot of batter on them and the amount pork was less in volume and more fatty. I have no idea why they would change how they prepare two dishes that were excellent before, but average at best now. read more

My daughter ordered takeout of the combination Shrimp & Chicken Pad Thai Noodles, Peking Spareribs (extra spicy), Thai Coconut Shrimp and the Volcano Shrimp. First time trying the Volcano Shrimp and if you haven't tried it yet ... I highly recommend you to try it!! It was "DA BOMB" ... the shrimps were deep fried in batter and the dipping sauce had a mild kick to it. I will definitely order this shrimp dish whenever I go to Lemongrass Restaurant again. Prices are very reasonable, considering the food prices always being raised these days!! Thank you, Lemongrass for your delicious food, reasonable prices and friendly service to your customers. I will definitely be back again! read more

What happened to this place? I used to come here a lot because the food was so great but now... OK, I ordered Pad Thai from the menu and it tasted like no Pad Thai I ever ate before, almost like spaghetti. Next visit I tried the steam table. I got the 2 entrees and fried rice and noodles. The golden chicken was COLD, the chicken with long beans were way too salty, cold and the beans were way over-cooked, limp, disappointing. Noodles were too salty and cold, the fried rice was not salty, yummy, but cold. Is the steam table broken? I was just hoping not to get sick. These guys need help. read more

I grew up in Keaau and this has always been one of my favorite restaurants. They have great options for all dietary restrictions. I highly recommend getting a plate lunch from the hot line. My personal favorite is their chow fun and their garlic eggplant. But be sure to check out their regular items as well. They're currently only the hot line and take out is open, but I don't think that has slowed them down at all. If you go anticipate a line because the food is just that good. read more

My group and I decided to dine at Lemon Grass Restaurant. Being one of the few places open at at that time and day, we thought we would give it a try. While we appreciate that every restaurant has their own rendition of certain dishes, we have to say that the food at Lemon Grass was of average quality. Our main concern was that every dish we ordered seemed to be covered in a thick sauce, which was about all you could taste. While we understand that sauce is an important part of many dishes, we felt that the overwhelming amount of sauce used here was too much and masked the flavor of the food. Although the food was not exceptional, the service at Lemon Grass was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The menu offered a variety of dishes, with reasonable prices. Overall, while Lemon Grass Restaurant is not the worst dining experience we've had, it was not memorable either. If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite, Lemon Grass could be an option. However, if you're looking for high-quality food with a more refined taste, this might not be the place for you. read more

The basil chicken and basil egg plant were, in my opinion, were the best! The ribs not so much. The lemon chicken was very tasty too.

Based on reviews I ordered a large container of salt n pepper pork ribs, chow funn ($16.50), eggplant w/tofu ()12.95), fried rice, black bean chicken, beef broccoli and chow mein. The pork rib were battered and gummy. There was no meat, just gristle and fat. The chow funn was without any flavor. The eggplant was so sweet I could barely eat any of it. I was very disappointed. I will stick with Happy Valley in Hilo. They truly have great salt n pepper pork ribs. They are crispy and crunchy and only $13.95 for the same container size. read more

The sesame chicken is great. Same with chow fun and tofu mushroom. Fast, friendly, and worth the price every time.

Okay. Not the worst food ever. But their food is super expensive for what they give you. For example, we got Mongolian beef and it should be named Mongolian onion because unlike the picture they show it as, it's like 5 tiny pieces of beef, with what looks like an entire onion. Really the whole plate was fried onion. Then their pad Thai, I asked the lady when I ordered it if it's spicy and she said yes to me in a way like "of courssseee" however when we got it it had ZERO spice at all in it, but also kinda a weird flavor that tasted like ketchup mixed with something else. It's fine if you are hungry, have a lot of money, don't care and are stuck in keaau. read more
