The best smash burgers I've ever had are from here! Smash Daddy's perfects smash burgers all around. Their menu is short and to the point to avoid confusion and choice overload. Fast service, nice customer service, bartenders know how to make a good drink. Seasoned fries with some crispy smashed brisket burger. The bun was a bit small and they need a toothpick or something as everything just falls apart. Our second time going. Good place for a nice burger when you want a good burger. But you will 100% pay for it, but if you eat out at Burger King, these prices match. The food quality is top notch though. We'll go about every other payday lol. Went to the new Smash Daddy's restaurant in Pahoa today. We were not impressed. The bar is limited. They couldn't make our favorite drink... a Cadillac Margarita..... because they had nothing to float on top. We were forced to have regular margarita's and they were "just OK". The burgers we had were nowhere near as good as Kaleo's in Orchidland or Luguin's in Pahoa. Also you have to order separately for food service and for bar service. They can't be on the same bill. The staff were nice but I just don't think we will come here again. read more

I am not acquainted with smashed burgers and I was interested to try one and see what it was. What a mistake! The beef patties were smashed all right: about 1/8" thick and 2" larger in diameter than the bun. Every bit of fat had been rendered and discarded, removing any taste it might have ever had. There are no fresh toppings at all, just fried ones, I think. The treatment inflicted on the jalapenos left them with no heat at all. I really missed the tomato. The menu has no skinny fries. I went to the bar and ordered a Heineken. It cost $7.29. I paid with $8.00 and received no change. The chairs are the same ones that the former Coco Cantina had. They have a thick metal bar coming up from the seat on each side. My okole does in fit in the space left between them and it is very uncomfortable. I never went back to Coco Cantina after I tried it, and the same will certainly be true for Smash Daddy's. I looked at the web site for Smashburger, and their picture of their burger certainly does NOT look like what I was served at Smash Daddy's. They look like the patties are reasonable. At least they look like there is still some fat in the burger after cooking it. Doesn't Smash Daddy's realize that all of the flavor comes from the fat? I certainly cannot recommend Smash Daddy's. If there were a lower rating I would have given it. read more

the tripled smashed hamburger was very good. service fell short though and ambiance was not good. this venue was formally Coco Cantina. the current restaurant did nothing to change it up. I went on an sunny bright day. interior lighting was not bright. however adjusting to the outdoor brightness to the interior made it difficult to orient myself. on the left was the same bar, full. only one table was occupied. same tables and chairs of the previous restaurant. no one greeted me, and it was unclear what to do, so I went to a table and sat down. I was still blinded by the bright sun entering the expanse of windows at the front. I had to put my sunglasses back on. one table was occupied and a server brought food to their table which had portable number on it, I guessed to help the server remember where to take the food. after two walk by me the server asked if i had ordered yet. I said no and asked for a menu. She politely told me told me I needed to order up front, in the corner by the entrance. I went up. moving my metal chair on the concrete floor which produced a sound similar to finger nails on a chalkboard! this is a limited service establishment. I looked at the small paper (photocopied) menu and quickly ordered. I asked for a beer to be added to the order. She said i would have to order it separately at the bar. because the bar was full, I choose a soda. no size of cups to select, plus no indication I could refill at my leisure. paid for my meal with plastic. no offer to give a tip, just a big bucket to place tips in. I had no cash on me, so no tip. I went to fill my soda. the machine is a typical dispenser. Except, it is very high on a counter. I'm a short person. I felt stupid having to reach up to it. I'm an anal person about cleanliness. all the straws, black for some reason, were of the unwrapped variety. I had to physically touch several to get one out. my meal came out fairly quick. The server did not ask if I needed any thing else. The large bucket on the table contained mustard and ketchup and a large roll of paper towels. no salt or pepper. no knives or forks offered. the hamburger looked very good. The bun was too small for the hamburger. but it was toasted and tasted good. the fries, while being of the type likely gotten from Sysco, the institutional food supplier, were done well and tasted good. Perhaps too much fries, as I left quite a bit afterwords. I hate it when I'm over served cheap food that is wasted. so in summation...Hamburger is very good, service and directions as to their process could be better. Get rid of the metal furniture and allow me to get an alcohol drink when I place my order. put some blinds or film on the windows. And get rid of the loud Metal Rock music. I like metal when I trying to relive the early 90's, but the rest of the ambiance does not fit the place! read more
