Found this cute little spot on yelp and sure glad we did! Our burgers were bomb , plain fries and irish fries bomb , and service was really great! Just remember, anything worth having, is worth waiting for. So, the food did take some time, but that was no worry for us. In a world where everything is fast pace we could all use some slowing down. Besides, if you're vacationing here, which we are, then there really is no reason to rush. We enjoyed family time while we waited. And worth the wait it was!! If you want a delicious, juicey burger, then stop here! read more

Not impressed... the "double" Swiss burger was small and the "large" fries were a joke... barely a snack and over 20 bucks for something worth $10... maybe? Kaleo's serves a great Swiss burger that comes with a huge portion of fries for $16 so next I need a quick dinner option... the burger bus is not a choice for me! read more

This bacon and avocado burger was absolutely next-level. The patty was incredibly juicy and stacked high with all the good stuff. Every bite was packed with flavor. The bacon was cooked perfectly, crispy without being overdone, and paired so well with the fresh avocado. You could really tell everything was made with aloha, and it was cooked to perfection. What made the experience even better was the hospitality. The owner was so kind and welcoming, while we waited, he even offered my two boys some shave ice, which completely made our day. It's not just great food here, it's genuine, thoughtful service that makes you want to come back again and again. We'll be back again this weekend for more! read more

Took over 30+ min to make our order with no line prior before mines. Owner told me " your food should be ready within 10-15 min" after taking my order. He seemed to make a judgement to handle a personal priority before handling the customer after taking my order. After 15 min he also stated food coming out in 5 min when took another 15 min. Very unfortunate. Also half the time it's not open or don't have ingredients to complete meal ( frying oil to make fries and onion rings etc) The food is decent but service is poor. Wish them luck read more

Delicious burgers, best I have ever tasted! Smashed burger-style tasting oh so juicy and addictive. This place needs to franchise! They have great food at a reasonable price. read more

I found the burger dry and cold. Fries were okay. Not sure how to improve, but maybe it is because it is a smash Burger

This was the best food we had so far on our trip to Hawaii! The owner was so friendly and kind! We got 2 burgers one was a combo with the puna fries and a drink. I got the teri double meat burger and my girlfriend got the original burger. The burgers were juicy, warm and tasty. The fries had cheese and grilled onions and some kind of sauce that was delicious. Give this spot a try!! read more

The Burger Bus turned out to be a delightful surprise and a perfect reminder of why supporting local businesses is so important. At first, we were hesitant due to mixed reviews, but our hunger and a serious burger craving pushed us to give them a try --and we couldn't be happier that we did! Team Brenden & Amber truly delivered an exceptional experience, from their warm aloha welcome to spot-on food recommendations and great takeaway food adventure. They absolutely hit it out of the park! The Dynamite Fries truly make this place stand out from other burger joints. We went for the "fat" fries, smothered in their irresistible dynamite dressing--and wow! We started snacking on them on the drive home, but let's be honest... they never actually made it home. We devoured them! We also tried the double cheeseburger with grilled onions, and it did not disappoint! The buns were perfectly soft, and the patty was surprisingly flavorful. We had braced ourselves for a dense, frozen-tasting burger, but instead, we got something tender and downright onolicious! The fresh vegetable toppings were on-point. Brenden definitely has skills in the kitchen! The staff was warm and welcoming, effortlessly showcasing the aloha spirit. We're already looking forward to trying their other top pick--the Chicken Sandwich. But for now, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Double Cheeseburger & Dynamite "Fat" Fries. read more

Not good at all. You can go across the road to Kaleos and sit at a table with knife and fork, iced water , napkins, be served and have a decent burger and fries on a plate for the same price. read more

The smash burger was pretty good but didn't really care for the fries. I did appreciate that they brought out the order to our truck.

The burgers were stone cold, and the fries were certainly not " hand cut". Had one experience not so bad , but this last time bad.

Food is okay, fries were overcooked. Really wish there were more toppings and sauce. Bacon on the burger made the burger salty. read more

Sooooooooo gooooooood! Broke da mouth! If you are looking for a low key, no fuss, delicious, exactly what you want in a burger, this is the place! Small bus off the side of the road but so ono! Hot, fresh smash burger and slender, crispy fries. Definitely worth the stop! read more

Best burgers of your life!!!! The first time I tried this place I came back 3 more times in the same week. It's on my regular rotation now. Their original smash burger is perfection and the dynamite fries are amazing I would recommend to anyone in puna. read more

Of course the food is absolutely delicious! But let's talk about the customer service and friendliness that the employees are always portraying. They are so welcoming, and they're owner, Chris amazing guy always willing to help community members. Love them. read more

Called in an order at about 1130, was told 10 min till pick up. When I arrived order wasn't ready so I came back about 15 min later. Burgers were okay, not really smashed building that crust you'd expect. Reminded me more of a in and out burger, but there wasn't enough sauce to make it really flavorful. I had heard good things so I was really looking forward to trying it out but I was let down. Would be willing to give it another try as staff was really nice and friendly. read more

Great overall!!! Service, food, ambiance over the top !!! will come back soon. Prices are reasonable.

A perfect SMASH burger! If you're looking for a killer smash burger, this place serves up a mean one. Crispy edges, melted cheese and grilled onions caramelized to perfection. I don't mess with lettuce or tomatoes when it comes to a smash burger. Just my preference. This is not a fat patty tavern burger. But if you're looking for an ono SMASH burger this is the place to go. read more

Had to stop grab another great Double burger on the way home. Quick easy yummy! Great location when on 130 Pahoa rd!

So far, IMO, best burgers on Hawai'i! love supporting local. I highly recommend The Burger Bus!

This is the best burger south of Hilo by a lot. I can't say the same for the fries, they are really oily and as soon as they cool off a little bit they get gross. The burger is good enough that I can't give it less than 5. There's picnic tables there, it's fine, but I usually get it to go since it's kind of on the highway. Not the best place to sit with all the traffic noise. Food comes out pretty fast, orders are 100% right so far, after maybe 5 visits. I really wish they had onion rings or any other side, since I can't really handle the fries. Otherwise a+ read more

Food is decent but needs improvement, service is friendly and worth the dining experience alone, ambiance is well maintained and enjoyable.

One of the best burgers i've ever had!! Absolutely delicious!! The hand cut french fries were so tasty and the service was great! The cashier/cook was so friendly and this spot is a must go! We've been on the island for a little over a week and been to some pricey places and this place beats them all! Perfect for just driving by or as a destination. And reasonably priced too! Me and my family all recommend it! read more

The burger I've been looking for! I had the double with the works plus added bacon and avo. Onolicious! A tasty " roll up your sleeves " burger! The fries are great also. Shoestring cut. Service had a personal touch. Not robotic. He will work to make his customers happy. I will be back. Mahalo read more

Amazing food and amazing customer service the guy tonight took my order and even brought my order to the car when it was ready!

Someone mentioned this place as the 'closest thing to In-N-Out,' and I've got to say--the fries here blow In-N-Out out of the water. Also, make sure to grab some fry sauce, cause you won't find better! We only got burgers for the kids this time, but even those were solid. I'm definitely looking forward to trying one myself next time. The service was great, and the prices were just right. This spot is definitely worth checking out! read more
