Our server was great. Sweet and bubbly, check led on us consistently and cleared off dishes as we finished them. Bonus she kept the drinks flowing for those in our group that were drinking. It was a casual setting with yummy food. Kalua pig won tons are great. But the star of the show was definitely my main dish. The tempura batter was light & crispy and the ahi was cooked to perfection. I don't care for tartar sauce but I enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back.

This place was so wonderful! Our server was excellent, she had great recommendations and was so kind. The restaurant was clean and busy on a Sunday night. They ask for reservations. If you get there after 5 I suggest a reservation. We ordered calamari, coconut shrimp, poke, chicken Katsu and Thai curry. The food was phenomenal. We enjoyed our time here, and will definitely be back when we're on the island next. Fantastic food and even better service.

A little bit of Kaleo's makes the overcast Pahoa days bright. A good example of a local chill place. Like the vibe and ambiance. I felt at home immediately and relaxed to the 9s, which is great. I stopped off here on a road trip and revived myself with a coffee and a snack. Fantastic staff. Hearts of gold.

The food was really good. My s/o and I quite enjoyed the wontons and would've easily just ordered a few rounds of those and been satisfied but the burgers / sandwiches were also delicious. Neither of us like blue cheese but we wanted to try something new and it was well worth it. The service was also quite nice. A bit pricy but it's reasonable and it's still a cute little place to have dinner. My s/o also ordered a flight of beer to try the flavors out and it was a hit for him.

Came tonight with a group of 7. We called ahead of time to make sure there was space bc we were a large group, and when we got there, we saw lots of seating and big spaces for all sizes. It was a big area outside inside seating. The service was fantastic. I will say they were short on menus and ran out of silverware towards the end, but they brought out some plastic spoons for dessert. I got the coconut crusted ahi fish, the lilikoi margarita, and lilikoi cheesecake. Seriously, no other words describe the food. it's just really good here. The atmosphere was a great vibe. Overall, great experience, thank you!

Didn't feel like making or getting Togo food. So why not eat in. This restaurant offers inside dining as well as outdoor dining. We chose the latter. I would later resent that choice. Out door is great until that Hawaiian sun hits you full in the face. But enough beer you should be fine. . Luck would have it I had a had and ate my dinner with it on. We started with the calamari and the truffle fries. Both excellent, fries shoe string like md's. Fried crisp and GBD. Bacon and green onions and truffle oil. And not too much oil. Perfect Amount. I got to try the 1/2 lbs Swiss cheese burger and regular fries. On a soft toasted bun. And a dark IPA. Done perfectly. Also had at the table was , complete slab of bbq pork ribs. And a order of Kalbi ribs.

    One to try.

While they appear to be a casual, local, hippy establishment (and they are). The food and wait is worth every penny, (and pennies are more valuable now). You will hear live music when you approach building. It's bright and colorful, open air and you can feel your inner artist being inspired. The place is packed but you find a seat and listen to the laughter, singing, and sizzles from the kitchen. It's small and bundles of fruit seam to just be around everywhere. Your server gives you a menu and you think. "Oh wow! That's a bit pricy." But you're all in. Considering this place is proud of its farm to table reputation. Yes, nothing goes to waist here and it as fresh as you can possibly get. So you order and wait. And you wait, and you wait. Finally the plate arrives and it's beautiful. A paradise of fruit, veggie filled omelet and some things you're not sure if you can eat them or if it's just decoration. (You can eat them) Have you ever heard of a cranberry hibiscus? I'm not a fan of salsa with my eggs but they make their own from scratch and they also sell it. So I have to at least try it. "What is in this! Magic?" Before you know it a whole days life experience has just happened. There were ups, there were downs, and surprises. Not just from the food but the whole surroundings. Let's just say nothing was left on the plate and I have stories to tell. Our server was the sweetest older lady who you can tell just loved her job and people. In fact all the workers were just rays of sunshine and smiles. Did I just have breakfast or walk into a magical world where time stood still and surrounded me in song and colors. It's close, there's always parking, and it's got that laid-back, local energy where you can laugh loud and no one's going to shoot you a look. It does get loud inside, but in that kind of way that makes it feel like everybody's having a good time, not like you're in a cafeteria. Just don't expect a quiet dinner conversation, unless you're reading lips. The service? Always sweet, always kind. Lily (I think that's the correct spelling!) has taken care of us more than once and she's a gem... warm, attentive, and easy to chat with. She's the kind of person who remembers what you ordered last time and tells you honestly what's good. As for the food... Bacon Blue Burger: My husband had this last time and it was yum. Juicy, flavorful, hits all the right rich notes without being greasy. That one's a solid order. Ribs: The barbecue sauce was really good... but the ribs themselves were dry and overdone. Not terrible, but not what I'd call a win either. If they could just dial in the texture, that sauce would carry it home. Kalbi Short Ribs: Best thing on the menu so far. Tender, rich, and full of flavor. Get those. Mashed Potatoes: "All mash" is the move. They're creamy and comforting... total comfort food. Hamburger Steak: Another standout. Probably one of the best in the area. Classic done right. Thai Chicken Pasta: Watch out... it's got some serious heat! Spicy, but good. Not for the faint of tongue, but worth it if you're into that kind of kick. Lilikoi Fizz: Really tasty but heavy on the lilikoi. If they eased up and added a little more club soda, it would be more balanced. Desserts: * Lava Cake was good... warm and classic. * Chocolate Decadent Cake was just okay. It comes fridge-cold (probably so it doesn't melt), but I feel like if they let it sit out for ten minutes before serving, it would be way better. * Brownie Sundae was yum, according to my husband... and I trust his dessert radar. All in all, Kaleo's is the kind of place you root for. You want them to keep getting better, and they mostly are. The hits are worth coming back for, and even the misses aren't deal-breakers. We'll be back, and we're excited to keep trying more of the menu.

The Kalbi ribs were sooo good! They were juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The Kalua pork was pretty good, and both meats paired well with the rice which had an interesting savory haupia sauce drizzled on it. The mango chili slaw and pineapple salsa added a nice tang to balance everything out. - Triple lilikoi pie (5/10): Wayyy too sweet and sugary for our liking, and you can barely taste the lilikoi flavor.
