They're either completely stupid or just are an unbelievable level of apathetic. Disclaimer: I do NOT eat here. If they screw up every order I don't even trust them to wash their hands. My boyfriend's siblings like Burger King. Today they ordered 2 meals and a side of tots. The burger was missing so were the tots and the onion ring sides were replaced with fries. Unbelievable customer mistreatment. Incompetent staff. Ordered shorted. Horrible experience! RE 1181 5th St SW, Charlottesville, VA, Oct 24. 2023 @ 5pm - I'm 75 years old and have been buying from burger joints all my life. This was by far the worst burger experience I have encountered. * Ordered online to be picked up at the counter. * Wife arrived to find restaurant locked. * At drive-up window was told, by general manager, they never got the order and insisted that we must have made a mistake and placed the order at another BK. So the BK system is flawless and the assumption is that the customer is incapable of placing the order correctly? So this manage deems customers to be either liars or idiots. * Texted pic of order confirmation (initially rec'd via email) to wife which proved the order was placed at the 5th St restaurant (i.e., the correct BK). * Upon being confronted with this proof that we DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE, the manager agreed to fill the order. Wife made to sit outside and wait. * Manager brought order out to wife and, instead of the 4 burgers we ordered , there were just 2 in the bag. Also it was missing a large onion rings. * Manager confronted about the shortage and they then provided the missing burgers. However, instead of giving her the missing large onion rings, they gave her a small (the packaging used tells the tale). * At that point wife just gave up and left. * What a total screw-up the BK order system is and that restaurant's manager is for not having the slightest idea of how to make things right so that we would be enticed to come back. A transaction that should have taken 10 minutes took the better part of an hour! My lessons learned? I'd say it would be a good idea to call to make sure they haven't locked customer out of the restaurant but I can never get through to anyone at this location. So, choices are either to NOT MAKE ONLINE ORDERS or avoid this location altogether. BK lessons learned? Hire competent staff. Ones that are not incline to accuse customer to be at fault and ones who can read orders in order to fill them properly. read more

Terrible customer service, cannot take an orderly correctly, staff sells things that are no longer supposed to be sold but still listed on the menu and then the manager complains when you want a refund. Heaven forbid they make your food wrong and then you ask them to fix it. Staff will argue with and be snide to you. I am done with this location, never again. read more

I waited a long time at the drive thru, not unusual at this BK. 4 vehicles in front of me but the wait this time was worse for me as a customer 2 vehicles in front of me kept opening his truck door to vomit. when I finally got near the window I smelled marijuana. I think it was from the puking guy. Anyhow that situation made the wait disgusting. Obviously this was at the fault of a customer but the slowness of restaurant employees added to my misery. Received my order but just after I drove away I noticed I was not given the soda that is part of the meal. Grabbed my receipt to go in to get soda and of course the dining room is closed. Found no easy access to drive in window, had to walk through the landscaping to get to the window. No sidewalk. After skirting around the car at the window I was met with a very unfriendly employee. Showed her my receipt and told her I didn't get my coke. Another employee had to step up to look at the receipt. Finally one of them prepared the small coke and gave it to me while delivering a sarcastic comment "Have a nice day." I know that could have been nice but it was the way she said it. They almost always close early and the staff have terrible attitudes. I don't usually expect much from a Burger King but this location is the worst I've been to. Don't ever ask for anything extra! They'll charge you for it but not give you whatever extra you ask for. If you're craving some fast food, just go to the Taco Bell right down the street. You'll have a much better time read more

There is no way to rate the food because they closed at 7:30. When I pointed to the hours on the door which said they're open until 10, a female worker claimed that those hours are only for Drive thru. When I said it doesn't differentiate dining room and drive thru hours, a male employee stated they were closed because they didn't have any help. So if you want to visit, have a plan B in case they randomly close during normal business hours. read more

Sorry about this Burger King, but I need somewhere to vent, and it seems that your lovely employees have made a slight miscalculated once again. So there I was. Sitting in my car, minding my own business, when out of nowhere... BOOM!!! I see a great deal on chicken nuggers at your store. Being a person with 0 self control, I came to your drive through. I realized that I couldn't have your chicken nuggets because I wouldn't bring myself to level to your standard of nugget. So, I got my old favorite; the 1$ spicy chicken sandwich. The food was given to us at a mediocre pace, just enough time to allow me to notice the grease stains in your building. But when I drove away and unwrapped my 1$ Spicy Chicken Sandwich, I was greeted with two bundles of lettuce, a rushed splatter of sauce, and a chicken tender for a patty. I guess your employees had heard my yearning thoughts of nuggets, and gave me the halfway point between a nugget and a patty. You could say I was mad. But I wasn't. I was just thoroughly disappointed and unimpressed. I have gone through some betrayals in my life, but after all these years, I never thought that you, The King of Burgers, would betray me like this. By far, this was the worst Burger King I have ever been to in my entire life. First of all, I went with a school trip, and when we were walking in there was a lot of smoke inside and the place stunk. When it was my turn to order, I asked for onion rings instead of French fries, so I thought she heard me. But when she confirmed it with me, I told her that I ordered onion rings and she got snotty with me. As a customer, I don't appreciate that at all. I also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with only pickles. When my order was ready, the chicken sandwich had everything on it, including mayo which I couldn't scrape all of it off. Wow...stopped at Burger King on 5th St for coffee (super cheap) and was disgusted. Baby momma screaming for some employee in the back, in front of customers mind you. Pulled up to order at the drive thru speaker and the order screen wasn't working. Ordered 3 burgers, onion rings, and french fries. Pretty simple right? Had the guy repeat what I ordered due to the broken screen and it was wrong. I repeated the order and he corrected the error. I pulled right up to the window (as I was the only car in the drive thru) and waited over 8 minutes for my food. Really? The employees were dirty and when I finally got my food it was cold. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because there is one employee I met there that I liked and that one person bumped it up one more star. I just went to this Burger King yesterday, and when I tell you after pulling off from getting my order I almost wanted to pull over and have a word with the manager on duty. I was rudely approached by an apparently irritated and tired employee at the window that in a way yanked my credit card out of my hand and didn't even speak. I proceeded to let her know I no longer needed one item on my order and not only did she give me a rude look but turned around to let a few other staff members know that I was taking an item off and I saw a lot of other rude looks along with which seemed to be a manager also. If a customer takes an item off, and literally one thing, I don't see why I was given so many harsh looks instead of being told it wasn't a problem because it really wasn't. When I was given my order I proceeded to let the rude cashier at the window know that I didn't mean to cause any trouble, she rolled her eyes and didn't say a word. I was appalled just because I wasn't raised to be disrespectful especially in the work place no matter what. She could have atleast just said have a nice day, I would have been ok with that. Anyway, the place seems alright the food could be a little better and the staff needs to be talked to about the way they go about interacting with their customers for sure.
