The food was excellent but while I waited in my car in front of the restaurant, the lady managing the register "fixed her hair" for a good 3 minutes. The register is not in the kitchen but is directly in front of the kitchen and attached to the kitchen. I was hoping she would at least wash her hands prior to handling my order. Unfortunately she did not. I'm not saying her hair was dirty or flying around the restaurant but I did find it unsanitary and it left me wondering if this goes on in full view of the public...what happens when not in view. read more

It's a small joint......service was lack luster. The guy at the register seemed odd. I'm tryna stay on the healthy side of the spectrum and opted for the turkey burger. He said it came with a special sauce....thousand island. Doesn't seem special but I'm gone roll with it. Waited about 15 mins for a super thin, flavorless patty.....without the sauce. I had The Big Island Burger. The quality of the burger was juicy and had the right amount of seasoning and spice. I like that the patty tasted fresh and not like something that came from a freezer. The toppings really set the burger off (mayonnaise, sautéed onions, jalapeños, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, American and provolone cheese). I didn't dine in, but if you chose to, the restaurant is family-friendly. One con was that the burger didn't come with a side included, you had to order separately. My daughter and I went in on a Tuesday afternoon around 1:30, and they weren't busy at all. We had the jalapeño cheese burger and shared an order of Cajun fries. The burgers were nice and tasty. I enjoyed mine more than my daughter enjoyed hers. I did go into the restaurant extremely hungry, so I'm not sure if that played a part. The Cajun fries were only okay. They were just basic fries with some odd smelling seasoning sprinkled on top. You couldn't taste the seasoning once dipped in ketchup, so we were able to eat some. After our meal, we each got a scoop of Blue Bell ice cream. I think the scoop was a little on the small side, but it was still yummy. This isn't a place I would run to or even tell my friends about, but if I were hungry and it was nearby, I would consider eating there again. read more

I don't know why a lot of the reviews are very harsh. Me and my girlfriend got guacamole burgers, fries, and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were good! I would compare them to sonic. Very decent! I seen a lot of people say theirs was unseasoned. My fries came with a lot of season salt and pepper. And they were hot and fresh! I barely waited 5 minutes for the mozzarella sticks and before we could finish, the burgers were coming out. It was quick! The burger was good. It was messy with diced onions, guac, and mayo coming out, but great! The burger had a slight pink center, which is optimal for a burger. It is not raw as another review said. The ambiance was quiet, the employee was rather quiet as well but im an introvert and i prefer it that way. The place was very clean and a bit small. Only one other customer was sitting and eating, and one came in as we were leaving. Theres a tv in there for some entertainment if you wanted. Was $35 for the 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 drinks, and the appetizer. Overall a nice sit down quick burger spot. read more

We've been to several Burger Islands... this isn't the best one. It's a super small spot, but also super dingy. My husbands said it was a good burger, but the smell of the grill & fryer going put a damper on eating. It's like they don't have ventilation. So it's foggy & hard to breathe in there. I ordered a kids burger with no bun & the guy taking my order gave me a "wtf" look. Wasn't too nice. Then when it came out it was all lettuce and onions. The customer service is nonexistent. Don't waste your time just go to Taco joint next door. On Saturday 11/18 me and my friend ordered online to pick up in store, when we got there the lady at the front counter was so confused when we told her we ordered online. Mind you there are no other customers in the store at this time just me and my friend and only two orders bagged up that had my name and my friends name. She made us jump through hoops to confirm that it was our order. She had my name on my friends bag and her name on mine, no biggie we switched the bags. Well that's when we should have looked in our bags and actually checked the food. We made it all the way home and started eating just to realize they switched our burgers and gave my friend the wrong fries. We called and spoke with the woman that was at the counter and all she said was "I told you it was switched", which she did not. My friend ordered at least 4 different items and I only ordered 2 items, like I said our names were on the wrong bags but the amount of items in each bag were correct so we just switched bags. They refused to refund one burger (which was all that was needed) or even make another burger. They wouldn't even refund the incorrect fries that they gave my friend. My first burger island experience was a take out Philly Cheesesteak, I was CRAVING one, and every philly shop in the world is closed on Sunday's, and burger island is all I could find open. They didn't disappoint!! Just don't have the philly selection a traditional place would. I went back with a large group for lunch and got the jungle burger. There were about 12 of us, and we seemed to overwhelm the small restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised when all of our food came out pretty quickly! For starters this isn't my first time eating here at Burger Island. I've floated in at least five times before but this is my first review! Today I had the double jungle burger and a side of chili cheese fries and a drink. For the price (about $8.50) the burger is Pretty big and the patties are pretty thick as well. For someone who loves whataburger I'd say this flavor is way above that and much more fresh for the same price of a meal. Not to mention you get way more options to customize your burger with mushrooms, avocado, etc which you can't get at any fast food joint drive through just yet.. well I wouldn't want to! But yea lol All in all I loved it and will continue going back.. too hungry to go into more depth so I hope this helps! Lol read more

By far the best burger I have had in my 22 years. First when you walk in you are greater by the sweetest happiest lady ever. I always order the double "if I'm not looking to eat until the next day" cheeseburger with pickles and ketchup and seasoned fries. Let me tell you I was blown away! It was juicy, made to order, crisp pickles, just absolutely delicious. The fries make me want to slap the cook! ok maybe not but they are really good. I saw this place on UberEats and decided to test it out. I am having a long study night and I always crave burgers. First of all, this place can be hard to find because the iPhone map app had it marked as in the Tom Thumb grocery store, so I reported that to Apple. I notified the owner, but she just said her customers know where they are. Ok‍ It's Bldg C ste. 104 Secondly, at 3pm, this place was completely deserted, but did have one other customer come in. It took about 15-20 minutes to get my food from the time I ordered. And for a Bacon Cheeseburger and large fountain drink, it was $11.64. I guess not too bad considering what McDonalds charges these days. Finally, for the sake of having a reference point for fast food, not counting a different set of standards for restaurants, I gave this place a 2 star rating, because if McDonalds is a 1-2 star, and Burger King is 2-3 star because of the flame broiled taste, and In-N-Out is a 2-3+ star, this burger although good was pretty basic, and I can't understand why anyone would rate this a 4-5 star. You want a 4-5 star burger, Hoffbrau steak house has a great 10-2-4 burger (it was a different name). Islands restaurant has a great burger. I'm sure many places have a great burger, but not Burger Island. I can see why this place was deserted, like a deserted Island. This place will be, if not already forgettable. read more

Girlfriend suggested we go here after having a mediocre experience at a higher rated burger joint. She spoke the truth! I ordered whatever it was that has sweet Chili, provolone, grilled onions peppers, and mushrooms with mayo... Wow! Flavor was wonderful and the burger was juicy... like a burger is supposed to be when cooked properly. Sweet Potato fries... crispy outside with soft inside, great job! I had drive past this place countless times, but kept it on my places to try list. I can say I was happily surprised at how great the burger was. I had a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions. The fact that grilled onions are listed as a standard option gave them an extra point in my book. The burger was juicy, but not a greasy mess. Great flavor and at about 1/4 pound very filling. The taste was excellent. They are definitely on my list of burger places. Next time I'll also try one of their shakes. I only hope it can live up to the expectations I have now after eating such a delicious burger. The fries were good+. I expected them to be swimming in oil, but they were actually a little dry. This used to be my favorite spot for a good turkey burger. It's just okay now the burger wasn't as big as it used to be and it had like a half slice of cheese. I ordered The Big Island burger combo. The burger was fresh, hand-made patty fried on flat grill. The burger is huge. I wish it was cooked on a gas grill over open-flame though. All the ingredients tasted fresh and very good. I like spicy heat, and this burger rocked with the jalapenos. The combo added seasoned fries and large drink for 2.75 more.
