I love a good burger. I've had some from a variety of places. Every time I go grocery shopping at my local Tom Thumb (Marsh & Spring Valley) I pass this place so I decided to stop in and check it out. The first thing that caught me off guard is that for a little burger shack they sure are proud of their burgers, price wise. I ordered the double cheeseburger and an order of chili cheese fries. Total bill came out to just over 12 bucks. Although the fries were a decent size I was expecting more out of an almost $7 burger. It literally looked like a McD's burger & personally for a little more you can get a gourmet burger at Hopdoddy's. The chili cheese fries were good but a bit on the greasy side. Overall I probably will never go back and am a little surprised at how they have stayed in business since the 50's (advertised on their sign). read more

I really like the food here. I started eating here back in 2007 when I worked in the area. I ate here a lot once I found it. I love their seasoned salt. They put it on the burgers and the fries. It adds so much flavor to them. Its great. Mind you this can make the burgers pretty salty. Be weary if you are not a fan of salt. My Girlfriend is not an did not like the burgers at all. Good hamburger. Great fries. Hot and fresh even at 3 pm after the normal lunch run. Price acceptable. Normally a quiet place for lunch. Well not today. Some dispute between two female employees took 20 minutes to resolve. Another customer and I finally complained but yet the cacophony persisted. Our young counter girl did an excellent job and tried to soothe us with coupons. I will be back here for the food. Hopefully those two ladies will be gone. read more

FOLLOW-UP TO MY REVIEW This is a follow-up to my one-star review of the Burger House on Marsh Lane that I posted on April 2, 2017. I ordered delivery through GrubHub that never arrived. In addition to posting the review, I emailed Burger House with a description of my complaint. I received a short response from one of the owners, Christopher Canellos. Mr. Canellos blamed GrubHub for not picking up and delivering the order. However, GrubHub told me BURGER HOUSE was responsible for delivering the order, NOT GrubHub. I also told Mr. Canellos that his manager was rude and hung up on me. Mr. Canellos made no response to that. Most notably, Mr. Canellos never made any offer whatsoever to address my concerns or solve the problem. He merely blamed the problem on someone else. When it comes down to it, a customer doesn't care whether it was Burger House or GrubHub who screwed up. The customer just wants his food delivered on time and hot. When a problem arises, as they sometimes do, the customer wants a SOLUTION to the problem, not finger-pointing. I had a delivery problem before and told Burger House about the problem, but they did NOTHING to FIX the problem. That's BURGER HOUSE'S fault, NOT GrubHub's. Finally, regarding Mr. Canellos' assertion, below, that he discussed this matter "at length" with me, that's just plain false. He sent me a short email, that's all, that included no suggestion whatsoever how to FIX the problem or alleviate my concerns. read more

I loveeee this place! Burgers and fries are always made fresh after ordering! If you like seasoned fries you'll love their fries that are perfectly seasoned!! I usually go here after summer classes at Brookhaven when I'm extremely hungry and want something filling and delicious. Their burgers are great, as good as it gets! They use their own special seasoning. I have no idea what it is, but its amazing. They make the burgers when you order them, so everything is nice and fresh. The only downside is that you have to wait a little bit, but it's definitely worth it! It's kinda dirty inside so I always just drive through. read more

I would just like to start this off by saying grease. Everything is grease. I think they offer a salad, but I'd stay away from that. I only do the drive thru, so I'm afraid and unaware of the dirt/cleanliness in the dining area. It's an old fashioned place, and the drive thru can be hard to access if you miss the turn. Also be prepared to wait because they make your food after you've ordered. Which is great minus the fact that my corn dog burned through the styrofoam packaging and bag. It doesn't seem safe to serve food that piping hot, and without a warning. Hmm.... I don't think the seasoning everyone's talking about is bad itself, I think it's the fact that they use wayyyy too much of it. Like to the point of sides being inedible. If I ever go back it will just be to try a shake. But from the drive thru window you can see into the kitchen area (I think? Have been meaning to try this place out for some time now and found ourselves in the area right at lunch time. I went through the drive through since our little one was with and thought it would be best just to go home and eat. I was also excited to try the Burger House as it looked to be privately owned and not a chain restaurant. (Better food comes from privately owned restaurants in my opinion) I ordered a double cheeseburger with everything and questioned if it would indeed include onion as that is the most important add on to me on a burger. There are no combo meals so everything I ordered was ala carte. Let's start with the smell....driving home my car started to smell like sweaty socks. Come to find out they use this seasoning on their fries that is a mixture of spices and such...terrible. They do cut their own fries which is great, but the seasoning killed it for me....and the same for my car and my house. (I couldn't get the garbage out of the house quick enough) Next, I was expecting a burger that I could hardly hold let alone get my mouth wrapped around since it was a double.....boy was I sadly mistaken! The patties were paper thin and the only thing I asked for to be on my burger was onion....and I got NONE. Big disappointment. My daughter, who is a pre-k, french fry connoisseur said they were gross and ate only a few. We tried some ketchup with the fries to mask the over seasoned, salty mess, but that did not work either. The very thin double burger was just ok....as I've been told; a person will eat just about anything when they are hungry. :/ To sum it up, it was an overpriced disappointment. And please do not get me wrong...I have no problem paying for great food, but this just did now warrant what they charge....Overpriced to the tune of $17 and some change for a double cheeseburger, regular fry, large coke and a kids meal. Oh well, lesson learned. At least I saved my burger loving husband a visit to this joint. read more

Place is awesome. Consistently delicious food. I've only had the bacon cheeseburger, double bacon cheeseburger and chili cheese dog because I'm a picky eater. But if anything else comes close to these three, then they are also delicious. Extremely friendly staff as well. Great place for an old fashioned cheese burger and fries! They also have a really good chicken sandwich. They call it "Zoe's chicken sandwich supreme". It's a grilled chicken breast with bacon, grilled onions, and Swiss cheese and it comes with a regular order of seasoned fries. I suggest calling ahead and placing your order so that it will be ready when you get there. My only issue is that they did raise their prices. A double cheese burger, regular fries, and a regular soft drink is over 11 bucks:-( read more

While this may not get 5 stars from those who stand around taking selfies all day, it is definitely a great burger place with good food! It's got a old-school vibe that's pretty cool. The building could use a little upgrading but I assume they are waiting for all the construction to be done behind them before they start fixing the place up. Love the thin burger patties and their seasoning. Prices are very reasonable and the quantity of food served is huge, as well as the quality. Definite upgrades are due outside the drive thru window, menu boards, and exterior of the building, as well as a few items inside, since it looks a bit rundown, but please, just don't change the food quality! Maybe add a grilled chicken salad, fried chicken strip salad, and a burger salad to your menu, just to help those watching gluten and carbs. :) You've already got all the ingredients! The first time I went to BH, it was after class at BCC and I was starving. It was on the way home, so I gave it a shot. When you walk through the front door there are pictures of previous customers eating outrageous meals (the 20X20.. 20meat, 20 cheese). How many fast food chains can claim that their customers are willing to eat a burger that size from their restaurant?! I ordered the Cheese Burger and side of Fries. I LOVE the seasoning that they put on everything. It really makes the meal. Their fries are fresh, not your everyday frozen potatoes. The burgers are awesome. Although I've read that some yelpers don't agree due to thickness of the patty, I have to disagree. If you aren't happy with the size, add another patty on. Not that difficult. The famous seasoning that they add into the beef makes the burger juicy and flavorful. Nothing is greasy, just piping hot and fresh. The staff at the Addison location is always nice and friendly. You never have to wait long to get your meal, although the food is worth waiting for. Best Burger that I've ever had. Nothing compares. read more

I am a huge fan of Burger House, and this location is the closest one to my house. I really enjoy the drive thru because sometimes I just want to grab my burger and run! The chilli cheeseburger is delicious, just make sure to specify what you want on the burger because I only said chilli and the cheese and I still got all the fixins. This place was average. The service was very friendly. They have regular customers that the staff new by name. I order a double cheeseburger and fries. It was cooked just fine. Fries are fresh and served with season salt. It's okay but I would ask for no salt next time. The place itself is outdated compared to other burger joints. Good burger! I ordered the cheeseburger, with onion rings and a chocolate shake. Man, this took me back to the drive-in burgers of yesteryear, with mustard, chopped onion, shredded lettuce, crisp fresh pickles, and a thin tomato slice! The patty was seasoned before frying to enhance the flavor, the onion rings were seasoned, handmade, and perfectly done, and the real ice cream chocolate shake left me wishing I'd got the larger one. read more
