My husband and I aren't the kind of people who like to eat at chain restaurants when we're traveling. We were visiting the area because of a death in the family. The owner, Julie, treated our family very well and I couldn't be more grateful. We got to eat here several times during our stay. Oh man. The first day, hubs had a grilled cheese and tomato soup while I did the soup/salad combo that was a house salad and their house made chicken and dumplings. We left very full! Those dumplings are some of the best I've had. On another visit, hubs got the catfish while I got the kids' portion of popcorn shrimp. It was more than enough shrimp for me. It came with a side (fries) and I still couldn't eat it all! The portions are very generous! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his catfish with fried okra and fried squash. The menu is very large and everything looks/sounds good! There are sweet painting and signs all over the restaurant - especially sunflowers!
