Working Man
Jaz G.

Every time I pass by this place I see a line at the drive thru. I figured hey why not give it a try, see what all the fuss is about. I got the Working Man (double boy, large fries & drink) with a sweet tea. Took a bite and oh my gosh.. that's what I call a burger! Explosion with flavor, I definitely should have added jalapeños in it but it was still amazing. Well worth the money. It's safe to safe that it's my new favorite burger joint in Live Oak, my family and I will be frequent customers. Next time I'm going to try one of their shakes, I saw they had a few options. 10 out of 10 stars for me. Nice staff, clean kitchen, quick drive thru line, fries were crispy and the burger was hot and loaded with yumminess. Glad I made a pit stop. If you're thinking about coming here give it a try you won't regret it.

I've been to the "Original" Burger Boy restaurant many many times. And I feel they some of the best burgers in all of San Antonio. However, this was my first time visiting this Burger Boy restaurant; and I didn't order a burger. For the first time ever I decided to try their chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. The service at this restaurant was courteous and swift. Decided to dine in and the restaurant was bright and colorful. Good to know that there is a Burger Boy closer to me.

Toasted burger with jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, and bacon!

Food was delicious! Had eaten here back in February and didn't love it being honest but gave it another chance and really enjoyed the food!!

Ok ok ok- I know we are in Whataburger country and without trying to be blasphemous (I'm not trying to get ex-comunicado )but this burger is LEGIT! Reminds this old man of when Whataburger tasted like in the day-and it tasted great Hot fresh made to order burger with fixings, and it was messy-indicative of deliciousness... But because we can't be 100% winners and as my stats professor once told me "no matter how hard you try & study, you will NEVER get an "A" in my class..." I do have to one complaint and it's that you have to pay a la carte for cheese or bacon to any burger But undeterred- I shall return!!!!! This is a great chain burger! TY Burger Boy!

Let me just say that I love trying new chain restaurants on road trips, and this Burger Boy checks all my boxes. It has a cool retro modern vibe with well thought out franchise branding, a quirky chef mascot that's beautifully drawn, cheery colors with nice uniforms. It seems brand new and clean and well laid out. The food was not as special, but perfectly serviceable. It was pretty much a clone of Whatburger with the same size burgers, matching buns, cubed onions, even the paper wrapper. There are fewer options for extras like American cheese or bacon, but that wasn't a problem. Then they have crinkle fries which were okay, and a large selection of shakes. I ordered the orange creamsicle shake which was a great flavor but felt more like a creamy slush than real ice cream, which was a little disappointing. I'd have loved a good orange milkshake! The bathroom is nice but only has room for one person at a time which was pretty inconvenient. The prices are okay, but not great. A combo meal will run about $10 and cheese is extra and doubled or tripled depending on the double or triple burger. In general I'd say Whataburger is better for choices, but this is a fun place to go for some solid burgers just the same. And if the shakes are better than the creamsicle then I'd love trying some other flavors like banana!

First experience with this spot! The advertising made it look amazing, driving up to the drive thru the guy was nice and polite when he took my order, received my order at the window, I could see the fries were sitting under the warmer for a little bit, they have no taste whatsoever not even salt, and the burger is fresh, paper is full of grease, overall I ordered the burger with cheese, bacon and jalapeños, it was ok. I was given my order and she told me to have a good day, forgot my drinks, so overall my first visit here today was nothing memorable and I would probably not go out of my way to come back, nothing was memorable or stood out to make me want to come back.

Great burger joint went to San Antonio and hit Burger Boy. I ordered got the overtimer triple meat, bacon, jalapeno, cheese. For me, Id like to see a thicker , more dense bun like a kaiser or a Zoft or Roman disc, an Apicius type multi grain. But, I know a lot of people are used to the airy, too much yeast, too much water and not enough flour buns that flatten and dissolve when you're left with meat, cheese bacon and jalapenos and a small salad, in 2 hands, in fear of putting it down for, be forced to use a fork. The Fries were awesome also. Huge girth ( for small fries) no pun intended and crinkle cut, not like in sausage party, and are fried at a low temperature and cooled and fried at the Burger Boy chains. Crispy, all the way, thru the meal. Nice job!

Single with cheese, no pickles.

Always a good freshly made burger and fries. We got a burger without a bun and he loved it. Said it was like a burger salad.

She knew portion sizes, flavor profiles, and made sure we were happy with food selections. Ambiance: place is trendy. Decor was really nice and the place felt welcoming. But once we sat down, it made sense. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the difference. There was only one server handling the entire floor, and when a rush hit all at once, it definitely got busy fast. But here's the thing... she handled it with grace. Even when you could tell she was juggling a lot, she stayed attentive, kind, and kept checking in on us. That kind of effort deserves recognition. Now let's talk about the real star of the show... The Texas French Toast. Oh. My. Goodness. Thick, golden, perfectly cooked slices topped with homemade whipped cream and fresh berries that tasted like they were picked that morning. It wasn't just good, it was indulgent in the best way. Sweet without being overwhelming. Rich but balanced. I couldn't even finish it (which says a lot), and happily boxed the rest up. The only regret? I ate all the berries first. Rookie mistake. My husband ordered one of the hash plates and said it was solid comfort food... hearty, flavorful, and filling. He couldn't finish his either, so I'm definitely sneaking a few bites later. Overall, we left impressed. The food feels intentional. The flavors feel thoughtful. It's the kind of local spot you want to root for. And the fact that they serve pork lumpia for lunch? Say less. We'll be back for that. If you're looking for a cozy, made-from-scratch brunch spot in Universal City, this one is worth the wait. Good food takes time, and this place proves it. ***This review is based on my taste buds.
