    Cheeseburger Double and fries
    Roderick N.

About a mile from the front gate you will see a building that says "voted best burger". The restaurant was clean, and only a short wait. We went at lunchtime on a Wednesday. The food came out quickly and tasted fresh. Special shoutout to the fries and onion rings, both tasted freshly cut and fried. The fries did not come with any (or very little) salt, but i think most people will forgive that since they are handmade, i prefer them more crispy as these were kinda soft but everyone still liked them. The burger was pretty big, i got a double cheeseburger, i don't recommend unless you are very hungry, most people will wish they ordered a single (wish i did). The only note is that nobody was a fan of the sesame seeds, but the bun was still good. Also the burger is not a smash burger and not a real thick patty, it's on the thinner side but still had a nice bite to it. The portions are not huge but you will likely not eat it all. I will go back.

Went here last night with my other half and as always, Chester's never disappoints. The inside gives it an old timey feel. The burgers are always juicy and taste delightful. Recommend for a simple date, but have found out that they also host parties and meetings.

First time here. I have passed by here at least a few times a week to go to and from work. Well, we finally made it here and definitely wasn't disappointed. I got the cheese burger with home cut fries and my husband got a double bacon cheese burger with hatch chili and home cut fries. The burgers were huge and messy, just like a great burger should be! They both were cooked perfectly. Well worth the trip and definitely wasn't disappointed in the price of burgers. We both highly recommend it. Our cashier was helpful as well. The restaurant was clean and the staff was awesome. We will definitely be going back.

Visited in September. A friend recommended it. Walk in there's a enclosed patio with tables and chairs. Go through doors and the counter to order is right there. Staff was nice... placed order and got got off the grill. The burger was nice and juicy. Lots of flavor.

My colleague and I came to Chester's for a burger of course! Firstly , I love the old fashion decor and friendly service. Combined with the great beer selection , it certainly started off on the right foot. We both ordered burgers, fries and beers . Food came out quick and hot . I sum , the burgers were excellent but the fries were soggy and really not very good . So, certainly a great burger joint but they gotta work on the sick kick .

This is a burger joint that is close to Randolph Air Force Base. You will see many military coming here for lunch. The place is nothing fancy but clean. You go to the counter and order. The menu is on the wall and drinks are fountain or you can get a beer from the coolers behind the counter. You pay and sit and then they yell out your name when the food is ready. You pick it up and take it to your table. Nothing fancy. Customer service: everyone very friendly. Ladies at counter engaging and nice, the lady cleaning tables was engaging, friendly and super efficient. Burger: I got the green chile burger and fries. I requested no salt on the fries. The burger with sesame bun is a nice size burger. You do get more bread than patty. I got all the toppings onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles. All the toppings are fresh. I got the green chile burger while I could see the green chiles, but I really couldn't taste them. The burger was tasty, juicy, and perfect for me. It wasn't seasoned too much, but I like it that way, some might think it is bland. The fries were soggy, limp, and not very good. I would skip the fries. I would recommend to get a double cheese burger if this is your first time. That is what I will get next time. Restaurant cleanliness: above average Bathroom cleanliness: above average

Chester's Hamburgers have been in business since 1984 and when you eat there you will know why. This was my first visit, and found it by seeing it on my route. The parking lot was pretty full and that is a good sign. The menu is pretty simple, and I went with the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a drink. Memorabilia is all over the walls and fun to check out while you wait for your order. If I said it is a good ol burger joint, you would get the picture! My cheeseburger may have been the best I've ever eaten! The fries were ok, but honestly the burger was so large, I didn't even want them. If you are in the Universal City, Texas area, look up Chester's. Go get Full

The good: The beer selection was solid, and the cucumber margarita was genuinely delicious. The not-so-good: * Wedge Salad: The salad itself was fine, but the highlight--bacon--was extremely sparse. Six tiny squares were placed on the edge of the plate, which felt oddly rationed and not nearly enough to enjoy throughout the salad. * Mussels: This was the most concerning dish. We expected mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce, but instead received them in a buttery yellow-orange sauce with a very unpleasant odor. The smell was not "fishy" but something far more off-putting--honestly resembling manure. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years and don't send food back lightly, but this was not normal. The server said the smell was typical, suggesting vinegar may have made it "pungent." Ultimately, the manager told us we still needed to pay for the dish, which we did without argument, though the experience was disappointing. * Shrimp Appetizer: It was fine, but nothing memorable or worth raving about. * Burger: The patty was overcooked, the bun was dry, and the fries ended up being the best part--crispy and greasy. Overall, we were hoping for a much better experience. While the drinks were enjoyable, the food quality and response to legitimate concerns left a lot to be desired.
