One of the best burgers I've had in recent memory! Excellent shoestring fries! Friendly and proficient staff!

Great burgers here, the meat is fresh and great tasting. I got my cheeseburger cooked medium and it was delicious. They do offer a double/double option in case you are super hungry. The potato wedges are fresh and delicious as well. Three menu is made on a business card so very small. They offer a burger or a cheeseburger in a one or two patties version with all the condiments on it. If you don't want some of the condiments just let them know. Great burger place overall, staff was nice and friendly; a must try while in Dublin.

This was good. Really really good. As if Five Guys and Johnny Rockets (before they sold out - 30 years ago) had a love burger and this was it. Fresh, juicy, well topped yummyness. Half a star for meat to stuff ratio ( for 9 bucks I want a bigger patty) and half a star for this hipster wanna be server who was too cool for things like actually taking our order, bringing the check, change, etc preferring the two tables near us with 20 something females. I get it but hey, we are still paying customers. Fries were really really good. Shake was weird... bits of chocolate chunks... had to chew before swallowing. Love the menu... simple, direct and on top of the napkins (so don't ask for one). ;) Would gladly go back.

OMG!! Burgers! WOW, WOW, WOW.. Incredibly simple menu, 4 burgers, three types of fries. Hamburger, double hamburger, cheese burger & double cheese burger, skinny fries, chunky fries, Sweet Potato Fries and drinks! We had to wait for about 10 mins to get a table as this is a popular place and the short wait was totally worth it. The main event, the cheese burger! it was amazing - our waitress ask me how I would like the burger to be cooked (a sign that the kitchen are confident in there meats and how fresh the meat is.). I went for medium rare, and medium rare is how it came out! Toppings were cheese, lettuce, pickle & onion. When I'm back again I'll just be ordering a Double Cheeseburger without fries! So dam good!!

    Hipster points!

The biggest draw for this place is it's simplicity. The menu is so small it fits on a business card. The drinks menu is longer and includes a nice variety of beers, including delicious IPAs. The burgers are small but perfectly cooked. I chose mine to be cooked medium rare, mmm, so juicy I am salivating even now at the thought of it. I would advise anyone with a large appetite to get the double but the regular burger with shoestring fries was enough for me and I left feeling happily full and not bloated. One thing against it was the state of the toilet, not that dirty just messy. A shame to be let down on such a small thing.

Great food! Burgers are delicious and milkshakes are intensely flavorful. We had burgers fries and one of each flavor milkshake! Chocolate strawberry and vanilla. Highly recommend for casual dinner or lunch. Also restrooms were super clean! Always a huge plus

Best burger in Dublin...fooo shizz!! The burgers are moist, oozy, delicious patties in a heavenly home made fresh bouncy bun. Pickle, onion, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard and Mayo are the accompaniments with the burger. No messing, just the classics and it works. If it ain't broke don't fix it. There's 3 types of fries. Shoestring, home-cut and sweet potato. Home-cut wud defo b my fav, but the others are just as tasty. Milkshakes are guuuuud too. Well I've only Had chocolate but it was rich and luscious. If ur getting a double burger tho Ya might wanna stick to beer or soda, cuz they are fillinggg.. Small menu = short review. Great burgers, great flavours, great value, great joint :)

I popped into Bunsen when out with a friend for a quick snack last week and with the rain pouring down thought we'd just jump across the road and check it out having heard good things. First off I have to say that this really was a tasty burger! I went for the double cheeseburger which was juicy, fat, phat and almost finished me off even with my legendary appetite. The only problem I found was that the offerings were all a bit one dimensional - you could either get a single or double beef or cheese burger. That basically seemed to be it - no fancy toppings which left me wanting something a little more. I also found the chips a bit tasteless (prices were good though - it was 22 Euros for a single burger, a double cheeseburger, a beer and a coke) Don't get me wrong I enjoyed our visit but it had more of a 'fastfoody' feeling to it than I was hoping for - I was just looking for more of a long term chill venue than the 30 mins we stayed to order, consume and pay. Nice to see them selling some craft beers like Sierra Nevada and Brewdog

Bunsen, a chain burger restaurant in Dublin and obviously doing well to say they have a number of restaurants in such a small area. The wait time for a table of 8 was just over an hour - annoying sure but we happily waited in a bar across the road and headed over once we received our text. The concept is simple - you have 4 choices of burgers: with or without cheese, single or double. The toppings are pickles, lettuce, tomato and their sauce. You have 3 chip options: hand cut, shoe-string or sweet pot. And you have have a shake or soda if you choose. That's it. All these options are presented to you via their business card menu - trying to be too cool? Yeah, I think so! Service was annoyingly slow and we had to ask for them to take both our drinks and food order. As the large table was at the back of the restaurant it felt like we were basically forgotten at times. I opted for the double cheese burger with all the toppings, the hand cut fries and a vanilla milkshake - when in Rome right? The food arrived and I felt was very Americanized: burger in paper wrapping, chips in an open cardboard box and milkshake in a paper cup with plastic lid and straw. Not a problem, just explaining their theme. The chips were great. Not to thick and not to thin, just perfect once I poured that much need salt and vinegar. Now to the main event - the burger. You know what, it was pretty god damn good. The meat was cooked perfectly (medium), sure it was a rather messy burger (very saucy) and quite tricky to eat but for all it's simplicities, it was good. For me, I'd like to have at least the option of adding bacon on there and my eyes were definitely to big for my belly - a single is more than enough but I enjoyed it. The milkshake was a bit of a let down - nothing special, way too watery for me. Let's just say I'd definitely opt for a McDonalds vanilla over this one but again I think it's their message of simplicity. Overall I have to give it a three - I think for such a simple menu you have to have the few things you have on point and there was just a few let downs. I would however return if their wasn't a queue!

Absolutely top quality burger from this joint on Camden street. I knew I was in for an experience when I found myself having to wait twenty minutes to be seated on a Wednesday evening. The menu is a cool little business card which I slipped straight into my wallet after ordering as a keepsake. The menu is minimalist, but once you take your first bite into the burger, you'll find the limited options dont matter. I had the double burger (cooked medium raw) and it was like none other I've had before. Everything about it was delicious, from the soft sticky bun, the beef and the freshness of the veg! I also ordered the sweet potato fries and the portion size ensured I was leaving Bunsen full to the brim. All in all the Bunsen experience was one I really enjoyed. If I was to be critical I would say servoce was a bit slow but I suppose you have to take into account it was a full house on a Wednesday and not every eatery can boast this type of atmosphere.

    Cheeseburger! Yummy

BURGERS, BURGERS, BURGERS! Yep, want a straight up burger, cooked to your preference then look no further! Menu is bad ass... Simples Cheeseburger Hamburger (make them double if you want) 3 options of fries and bam, you're done. Been here in a few occasions and always enjoy the food and also the vibe going on here!

During our research before we left we saw a video talking about Bunsen. Just seeing the high quality of the ingredients made it one of our must try stops in Dublin. As we do when traveling, we start and end the day eating throughout the day. We popped into Bunsen to finally try the legendary burger around 4:30 pm. Because we were there at such an odd hour, we were the only people there. When you visit Ireland, the pub culture is real and most pubs start to get quite busy around 5:30 pm. Since Bunsen isn't a pub and wasn't located in a particularly touristy area , it didn't surprise me they were empty at that time of day. What stuck out the most at first was the super friendly service right from the door. We were sat at a small banquet of tables against the wall and checked out the menu from QR code link on the table. We were there for their original burger so that is what we ordered. No sides and water to drink. I couldn't be filling up too much yet. It was pretty early after all and we had a lot of places to stop yet. The menu isn't huge. They focus on doing one thing well and keep it at that. I like a restaurant that doesn't try to be everything. Our burger came out within 10 min and it was juicy, hot and fresh. Presented beautifully wrapped. We shared this one burger because, we knew we had lots of food to eat later. Immediately after eating the last bite I wanted to order another. It was really that good. Such perfection! This will be the burger I compare all others in Ireland to.

Chicken was fried very nicely, the crust was crispy but not overly hard, inside was juicy and piping hot fiber, nicely seasoned with a bit of spices, went very well wtih the fresh veggies and sauce in the burger. The buns were soft and warm, though I might want it toasted a bit more. Also the price might be slightly on the high side (€11.95) for a standard size burger. Nonetheless, taste matters the most.

With vegetarians and other conservative eaters in our party, we found this place a godsend for a midafternoon pre-Trinity-College-sightseeing meal. Actually, it's pretty good on its own merits. I've eaten at other Counters and I like the setup...but there are too many choices! Patty, bun, cheese, toppings, and sauce. So many options! But if you enjoy culinary creativity and/or control, you will not go wrong here. The sides are good too, except that they were out of fried pickles. Sad face. We enjoyed regular fries, sweet potato fries, and grilled vegetables. Everyone enjoyed their burgers, so the meal was a success. Ironically, The Counter has table service, so it's not quite as quick as you might hope. But their sodas are from a fountain (yay, American style) so you can get refills. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was overrun with immense amounts of oil. My burger bun arrived. It was the color yellow and the consistency of a soggy sponge. That means somebody dipped it in Golden-Flo cooking oil before crisping it back up. Yes, it tastes delightful...the same way deep-fried Twinkies taste delightful. The guilt of eating it manages to cancel out the enjoyment. Also ruined by oil were the onion STRINGS. Confession: I thought they were onion rings. With just an 'R'. I was duped and disappointed when the STRings arrived looking all skinny and limp. Sure, they were promisingly covered in tasty batter...but as soon as I grabbed the first one, the underneath strings crunched the pile, which subsequently disintegrated into an oily pile of fried dough and stringy onion film on the plate. Not cool. The oil-to-food ratio ended up leaving me with hours of tummy feelings the equivalent to a brick buried in a pit thrown into a black hole. Had to take a dinner coma nap on the couch when I got home. Oh and I am from California so I am allowed to say this: For a California-based and California-themed restaurant, it feels nothing like California.
