Thank you for reaching out in response to my review. Yes, the work was done in 2024. I completely understand what you're saying about the age of the paint and how difficult it can be to match, but that's exactly the kind of information I wish had been shared with me upfront--when I booked the appointment and received the estimate. Instead, I only learned about those limitations after the work was finished and I expressed that I wasn't happy with the result. I'm not a confrontational person, so in the moment I didn't really know what to do. The machine asked for a tip, so I added one and just assumed maybe I was expecting too much. But when my husband got home and saw it, he immediately felt the same way I did--that the paint didn't match at all. Even if that was the best possible outcome, we would've appreciated knowing that ahead of time so we could make an informed decision. At this point, I've moved on, and I do appreciate you reaching out. I actually tried contacting you outside of Yelp at the time and never received a response, which is why I eventually posted the review. It sounds like you've done great work since then, and I'm sure the work on my car was done with care too. I just think more education on the front end would have made a big difference in my expectations.
I had a very frustrating experience with Bumper Buddies and would not recommend them based on both the quality of work and the lack of follow-up. I paid $650 for a front bumper repair on my 2014 435i. Before moving forward, I specifically told the technician I was deciding between repairing the bumper or fully replacing it, and that I only wanted to proceed if the result would look acceptable. I relied on their recommendation and moved forward with the repair. The final result was disappointing. The paint had noticeable orange peel, the panel shaping was uneven and wavy, there was overspray, and even the parking sensor was painted over. After reaching out, it took significant effort just to get them to come back out. When they finally did, the "correction" was essentially a quick buff and some minor cleanup -- it did not address the underlying issues. I was then told that because the original damage involved a split in the bumper, the result I had was essentially the best it could look and that it wasn't fully correctable. That was extremely frustrating to hear, because had that been clearly communicated upfront, I would have chosen to replace the bumper instead of attempting a repair. Following that visit, I attempted multiple times over the course of a couple weeks to resolve the situation and discuss a partial refund. Communication was extremely poor -- emails went unanswered, texts were ignored, and I was repeatedly told someone would follow up when no one ever did. At this point, I've had to pursue a chargeback due to unsatisfactory workmanship and lack of customer support. Overall, the experience felt rushed, the quality did not meet expectations, and the follow-up service was even worse. I would strongly recommend considering other options, especially for anything beyond very minor cosmetic repairs. Update to owners response: I think it's important to clarify a few things here, as parts of your response are not accurate. While I did sign off initially, that was based on a quick review immediately after the repair. The issues became much more noticeable over time in normal lighting and daily use. I also had friends and family point out the poor finish and uneven panel work, which reinforced my concerns -- I take pride in my vehicle, and this simply was not an acceptable result. I first reached out again in mid-February to raise these concerns, and it took repeated follow-ups over several weeks to get a return visit scheduled, which did not occur until March 24th. After that visit, I again had to follow up multiple times over more than a week through both email and text with little to no response before finally hearing back. During that visit, I was told that because the bumper had split, the current result was essentially the best it could be and not fully correctable. That is the core issue -- had that been communicated upfront, I would have chosen a full replacement instead of a repair. I also want to correct a misstatement in your response. At no point did I threaten to post a negative review or file a chargeback in exchange for a refund. The message you're referencing was sent only after weeks of repeated follow-ups and lack of response, and simply stated that if I did not hear back, I would move forward with a chargeback due to the unresolved issues. That is not a threat -- it was a final step after multiple attempts to resolve this directly. The follow-up "corrections" did not resolve the underlying issues, and the quality still does not meet expectations. My request for a partial refund reflects the fact that the result did not match what was discussed beforehand, the limitations were not disclosed upfront, and the communication throughout this process required persistent follow-up just to receive basic responses.
i had the best experience with bumper buddies! the fact that they come to you is so convenient, especially since it can be difficult to find places that are willing to work on teslas. i had a pretty bad scratch on my door and honestly wasn't very hopeful that it could be fixed, but orlando did an amazing job. my car seriously couldn't look better, it looks like the scratch was never even there! i'm beyond happy with the results and the whole process was easy from start to finish. i would absolutely use bumper buddies again and will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family. thank you, orlando!
This is a great service. Fair prices and done at your location. My daughter's vehicle was repaired in her employer's parking lot while she worked. The repair was done quickly and looks great.
My husband has a 2003 Infinity G35 bright red sports car with less than 100k miles on it...mint condition, his baby! Someone hit his bumper in a grocery store parking lot and made a big dent. He went to 2 auto body shops and they quoted him $1700-1900! We called Bumper Buddies and Jason did it in our garage for a very small fraction of those quotes! He is a really nice guy, a family man, and fun to talk to as he let us watch. Just a couple hours in our own garage and the car looks amazing...like it never happened! Highly recommend Bumper Buddies and Jason!
Had a chip and then repaired the body work myself, but the color did not match. Fortunately Justin from Bumper Buddies reviewed the request and tried his best to keep the cost low as possible on a re-spray of the panel. Since I didn't want to get car insurance involved I really appreciate them for taking care of the paint at a very reasonable price. Came over within a week with the matching paint and was able to do it in the comfort of my own garage too!
Ralph took great care of my vehicle and restored the front bumper cover on my Alfa Romeo to like new condition. The price was very reasonable in consideration to what a body shop would have charged to repair the damage and repaint. Very pleased and highly recommended.
Had some paint scuffs and a 4-6" dent on the right rear side of my Ford Explorer. Keith did an amazing job and the vehicle looks like it is brand new where the damage was. Quality of work is excellent for a very reasonable price. Technician arrived right on time.
Sloppy Scheduling, Poor Communication, and Unfinished Work I had a frustrating experience with Bumper Buddies. When I first called, the salesman was extremely pushy and pressured me into an appointment and then turns out they never actually scheduled it. I took time off work only to be told they had no record of it, and then they tried to dictate what day they had available next, completely disregarding my schedule after their mistake. I eventually paid $525 for a bumper repair and submitted multiple photos in advance. At no point did anyone mention an issue with "two colors" on the bumper. Not over the phone, not in texts, and not even when the technician was working on it. Only after the job was done did I have to call them to figure out why their work was incomplete. They say they couldn't fully correct the paint and the owner then tried to charge me even more money to finish the work I already paid for, and that he may come out to do it himself but only if he "felt" like it. The grey paint formed bubbles shortly after (I left it alone as advised) and the black paint was never repaired. This place is disorganized, lacks transparency, and doesn't take accountability. I wouldn't trust them with your time or your car.

If you're wanting paint repair, this is the place! I was looking for a good paint repair on my bumper for MONTHS. The quotes I could find (from a place with good reviews) was $500-1000 for this little section, and they were requiring that I leave the car at the shop for minimum of 4 days. I work in Real Estate and cannot leave my car for more than a day. Once I got ahold of Bumper Buddies, they were quick to respond with a quote for $325, and they came to me and repaired it in my driveway the same week! The repair was done in two hours, and I waited another hour to dry, and my car is good as new again. If anyone ever needs paint repair on their car, the only way to fix it is through Bumper Buddies. They have a customer for life. read more

The tech (Sal?) did a great job fixing up some pretty gnarly scratches and minor denting on my car. I found the price to be reasonable, and he did not complain or up charge me after the job took a lot longer than he had expected. The paint matching is perfect to my eye and the area that was fixed looks good as new. The mobile repair is very convenient and high quality. Hopefully won't need to call them up again, but if I do yeet my car into my house again i certainly will! read more

Ralph was so responsive and reliable. He came directly to my house and finished the repair in less than 2 hours. I was skeptical of the company because I thought I would have to go to an actual body shop to complete the repairs. Body shops were a joke they all quoted me for items that they didn't even check if they needed to be repaired. All the body shop quotes were $1800-3200. Ralph quoted me less than $500 and completed the repair above and beyond my expectations. Thank you Ralph! I recommend your company to anyone that needs a bumper repair. read more

Ralph from Bumper Buddies came out last Saturday to give us a more accurate quote for minimizing the scuffs on our Kia Soul -- the car had accidently been backed into a block wall leaving deep scuffs and scratches through all the paint and down to the fender. Ralph let me know what could and couldn't be done, what the various repair options would be and gave me a clear idea of how things were likely to work out for each of them and what they each would cost. Once we agreed on the repair option, he got right to work. The job Ralph did was fantastic! The before and after pictures tell the story. We're quite happy with the results! THANK YOU!! read more

My brand new 4Runner was scratched. I took it to a body shop and it was going to be 3 days and they would have to order a new front section. I went on YELP and Bumper Buddies came up. The process was very easy. Sent a quick photo and the response was came back very fast, but they came back and said they couldn't repair my bumper. I reached out via phone and explained my damage to the nice lady that answered and she said that she would have someone reach out to me. It wasn't just anyone who called me, it was the owner Ralph Bertel. Ralph wanted to personally come out and see my vehicle and take care of the repair himself. Ralph showed up this morning and walked me through the entire process and got right to work. In and hour and a half he was done and my bumper looks brand new. If you have any damage to your vehicle please give Ralph and his team a chance to look at it. It was hundreds of dollars less than a body shop and all repairs were done at me house! THANK YOU Ralph for you excellent service! read more

I can't say enough about Ralph and Bumper Buddies! My first encounter was over 3 years ago when someone backed into my bmw m5 while I was parked. Ralph literally picked up the call immediately, quoted me with the best price amongst 5 other places I had called and came over the next day. I never thought this would happen to me again, but it did! This time it's my 2 weeks old AMG Mercedes. Unfortunately our freeways are just horrible, couldn't avoid running over a piece of bark/wood. Fortunately it didn't take out my bumper but did scuffle the paint. I couldn't bare to see it so of course I contacted my go to guy Ralph. I was so grateful that he was on his way back to California and was able to catch him. He of course remembered me and again quoted me the best rate and came immediately over the next morning. Thank you Ralph for everything you do and your magic hands!! read more

Ralph did an amazing job fixing the dent that was on tailgate!!! It truly looks like nothing happened. He was quick and I really liked that he was mobile! He also insures that he can do the job and do the job well or he will be honest and tell you that it would be a better option to seek someone else out which I think Is great!! It shows that he's honest, wants to go the best job and isn't seeking for a quick buck! He also had the BEST prices in the valley and I reached out to about 5 other people when I was hit in a car accident. Him and the company are newer to town but it's definitely worth taking that risk! I would recommend him and the company to everyone! read more
