I could not be more unhappy with the training that we received for our dog from Bulletproof Dog Training in Eastgate. Our dog was a barker and jumper. She didn't have any terrible behavioral issues. She was the most friendly, sweet, LOVING dog we had ever met. Once she cam home from the training, she was very sick. I did not receive updates on her while in training as promised. I was never notified that she was sick. When we picked her up they said she was sneezing from getting bathed. That was not the case, she was sick for a month and on antibiotic for a month. After speaking to Bill about the issue of her being sick and not receiving updates, he refunded $500. Which now in hindsight, I should have received a full refund. Once our dog started to feel better, she has become more aggressive, which she never was. She will not allow us to put any training collar on her as she is so afraid of it and snaps at whoever is putting it on her. We rescued our dog from the side of the road at 8 weeks old. She was not mistreated. She was the sweetest jumping, barking baby. Now, she doesn't trust anyone but our family. No one can go near her in her crate, come to the door, stop for a visit, on walks or in public that she doesn't know. I am not saying that Bulletproof has bad training, I am saying that whatever they did to our family dog was bad training. If she was unable to be trained with normal measures then we should have been notified. She should have been pulled from the program. I believe that she was "zapped" too much and at too high of a level which has made her so afraid and aggressive. The dogs that they train should be trained through positive reinforcement, not zapping the h3ll out of them through fear and PAIN!!!!!! Shame on you, Bulletproof, Cincinnati!!!!!! Once your dog completes the training, don't expect support or follow up, as promised. Expect to be treated with disrespect and patronized.

Don't waste your money on puppy classes. They introduce NEW commands with tons of distractions so of course the pups don't listen. I was going into a panic attack because of this and asked to take a break and was told no and to keep going. Also, the website advertised this as "one on one" classes and not group classes and they do not go over what's listed on their site. Maybe an update is needed...And another pup was being aggressive towards my pup and the trainer saw no need for her to step in so I had to insert myself into the mix. I only went to two classes instead of the four and since it's all paid upfront I wasted over $100. I went here because a coworker had great things to say about their board and train but I did not see the same with the puppy classes. read more

I attended puppy class with my 5 month old golden retriever. The direction taken during the training was very correction based with lots of leashing jerking. There are much better puppy classes in Cincinnati with a similar price and double the number of classes as well. The trainer also informed us that any other training sessions would include the use of E Collars (whatever your opinion of these are, I was unaware the establishment used them). read more

I had the honor of bringing my little girl in as their first dog when they opened up in Cincinnati. To this day Pawdrey knows her commands and is a very good dog. They love her like their own and we still keep in touch. They will absolutely contact you if you have questions or trouble with the training. They truly guarantee their work and it is Bulletproof (lol). Take your dog here to get trained. It's cleaned and all the fur babies are well taken care of and loved. Our Aussiedoodle was trained by Ivory and Bryce for two weeks while we were out of town. They did a fine job teaching her the basic commands, and then the ball was our court to see if we could maintain/continue her training and good behavior in our real-life situation at home. We found it tough at first to maintain the good behaviors when there were the inevitable distractions, but the great thing about Ivory and Bryce was that they always answered our questions over the phone, and were always available (with a bit of scheduling, of course). With continued challenges, we scheduled a follow-up at a park, to let them observe our handling and re-show us the effective methods we did not quite get when we first picked her up from Bulletproof. This follow-up was fantastic, and we've done much better since. A suggestion would be to spend more time when you first pick up your dog to practice the training. We had about two hours, which probably was not enough time to let us practice with Ivory and Bryce the way we got to during our follow-up session with them. Ivory and Bryce are enthusiastic people who love your dog and want to achieve success for both you and your little beast. read more

Our mini goldendoodle, Dolly, loved her trainer Quentin. Zack, who is new (like Dolly) also trained Dolly. She did the Board and Train option and she loved both of her trainers. We would HIGHLY recommend either of them. We were so happy with the training she received - she has remembered it so well. She is still working on her off leash heel, but otherwise she is doing great on all of her commands. Quentin was super helpful in answering our questions and sending us pictures. Our dog Riggs loved Tori at Bulletproof. She was so caring and loving to our 3 year old Belgian Malinois. We had him trained a few years ago when he was 9 months old with another trainer. Over the course of that time he started to not be as attentive to our commands. We decided to get another trainer and put Riggs in the 15 day board and train program at Bullet Proof. It was a great decision he is much more calm and attentive to his commands. He is just so much happier when he is working and we have Tori to thank for that. Money well spent and I would highly recommend Bullet Proof in a heart beat. Our Riggs had to take a few days off because he was sick (Diarrhea). They treated him like he was their own pet and took him to the Vet just to make sure he was fine. My fiancé and I wanted to take our dog for some training because he would jump all over people when they would come through the door, he would aggressively cry and bark when he saw other dogs and pull on his leash when we went for a walk. So we took our almost 2 year old German shepherd mix to bulletproof after looking into a few other board and training companies and chose to come here because they were quick to respond, informative and extremely friendly. When we dropped off our boy we were very comfortable and confident they would take good care of him. Meaghan was our dogs trainer and she kept us up-to-date on his progress by sending videos and pics and let us know that if we missed him she could easily send more pics. 2 weeks later we go in for the turnover and once he got his excitement out from seeing us for the first time In 2 weeks Meaghan showed us exactly what he learned and how well behaved he now was. Everything we took him in for was corrected and we feel confident taking him to parks and for walks around the neighborhood now. Meaghan informed us that we still do need to work with him on these issues or else he will forget so continuing his training is also on the dogs owners. Madyson trained our newest puppy for the last four weekends. Madyson's training and expertise is beyond excellent! She was professional, informative, and generous with her time and patience. Madyson is truly gifted as a dog trainer. She took the time to explain behavior plans, showed love and respect for each puppy, and guided all of the parents toward successful training sessions. Her technique is very straight forward. She is very matter of fact, and is perfectly consistent in her training methods which made it a lot easier to follow her instructions and model her techniques. She is a great listener and she never stops teaching and observing. Where do I begin? Let me just start by saying that if you make the decision to spend the $2k to send your dog here, get a refund asap. Do your research. Ask ALL the questions. Because here we are, over 18 months later, and our Negan is still having problems. Not just behavioral, either. That would've made this all an easy process if he simply came home the same. Except he didn't. We left Negan with BDT completely healthy and happy. No issues. Except the manner problem he came with. But when we got him back 2 weeks later, we were shocked. No pun intended, as they use shock collars for their training. Yes, he listened to every command told to him.. but he was so thin.. sickly.. had diarrhea as we walked out to see what he had learned. Anyway, we brought him home, and the diarrhea and now vomiting persisted. We took him to the vet. The weighed him. He was 105 pounds when we dropped him off. (He's a huge German Shepherd, so he was honestly thin when we sent him.) But when we got him back just 2 weeks later, he was 90 pounds. NINETY. He lost FIFTEEN pounds in 2 weeks. After asking Tom and Bill at BDT they swear they fed him twice a day, he ate great, "we just walk a lot" is what they said. Enough for him to lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks? I don't think so. He was sad to look at. His eyes were terrified and sickly looking. You could easily feel not just his ribs, but his spine and hip bones as well.. we asked for answers. We asked for refunds. They gave us 90 measly dollars for all he's been through. He could eat anything he wanted before we sent him there. And now he has to be on special diet food FOREVER. On an anti-inflammatory/antibiotic FOREVER. He has developed skin allergies as well. They also failed to explain to us that for the results of training to continue "forever", you have to use the shock collar EVERY DAY. Now, we had an almost 3 year old, and I was about 7 months pregnant at the time. Do you really think I have time to walk around buzzing this damn thing every time the dog did something?! This WAS NOT explained to us at all. Complete denial of everything, of course, on their end. Refused for refund or pay for anything else. They say they love and care about all their customers as if they're their own dogs, but they're full of it. It wouldn't surprise me if they delete this review. Or any of the others ones I leave all over the internet. People have the right to know so that this kind of neglect doesn't happen to any other poor, defenseless dog. I thought after they failed to cooperate that we were basically forced to shut up and deal with it, but after seeing report after report of this happening with other trainers around the country, I had to speak up. They like to get your testimony video when you pick the dog up and not after you get them home after you could have more of a chance to see any problems they may be going on.. All I'm saying is do your research. Be bold. Ask if they delete reviews. Don't take any crap. Plan on spending major money at the vet when you get your fur baby back. Consider working with them at home, or hell, even Petsmart. They may not be the best, but at least you can be there with your dog and make sure they're being treated properly. read more
