UPDATE: 2-3 days before the 30 day window to refund us expired, Le called to tell us he could not give a refund and offered to pay us back over the NEXT YEAR. I told him I needed a few days to think about this offer. I count-offered with 3 choices:
1) Pay in full by the end of July, if payment did not go through we'd go to small claims court
2) Go directly to small claims court
3) Pay in increments with interest (because it would be more than 1 year before we'd received our full refund), but he'd have to sign a promissory note stating that if he defaulted we'd go to small claims court, and he would pay all fees associated no matter the court's decision.
Le first chose option 3, then 15 minutes later said he could pay in full, but said I had to go to a residential address (that I've never been to) at 9:30 at night to pick up a personal check from his ex-wife. I said I'd meet her at a public place. I suppose I should be happy to get my money back, but the hoops I've had to jump through were ridiculous.
The icing on the cake is receiving an email from his ex-wife asking for the "favor" that I remove or alter my negative review. I would have been more willing if Le himself was in any way apologetic about this, but his last words to my face were "Your dog has issues. Good luck trying to find someone to train her". read more
