Immediately coming in we were ignored , not greeted & simply asked what we were looking for. No problems there if you want to get straight to the point . Upon seeing the beagles I asked how much they were and she said $800. She then proceeded to ask where I live as in apartment, town home or home and I said the puppy was for my mother ( for her birthday) and she lived in a town home. Let me add my moms house has a big yard in the back , and plenty of great walking trails nearby. She then tells me well no you can't purchase the animal, they are a " barky, loud" breed and can't live next to other people if it's not in a home. I have NEVER in my life heard anyone create a random rule that you can't purchase a breed because it barks ...ALL DOGS BARK , especially puppies like wtf and i mentioned she lives in a town home, as well as her neighbors having a dog. Her attitude wasn't pleasant at all and I feel like she just didn't want to sell us a dog. Even if I lived in a home, next door neighbors can still hear a dog barking wether it's inside or out. She was just quick to dismiss and shut us down. The puppies are overpriced and the customer service is TRASH. I pray they get a new owner some day, I've never liked that lady anyways.

Only good things to say about STAF having adopted several cats there over many years. Recent…read moreadoption was a previously adopted cat returned after a rather traumatic home situation. Volunteers (Jean, Amanda, Julie, Amy) were so helpful, supportive, friendly. I can't praise them enough. In just 5 days my "scaredy" cat has left his hiding place, explored the house and is happily settling in. I think this reflects the good care he received at STAF while awaiting a new home.

They do absolutely everything they can to make sure that all of the animals' best interests are considered and taken care of. What I appreciated so much is how much detail I received from them. I knew what each cat was eating, their history, medical information and more. We received a huge goodie bag filled with food for each cat, litter, toys, treats and more. Having this makes the transition from the shelter to home go so much better. We worked with Jean who is amazing! Thank you so much for your concern, the details you provided and your honesty. I do not have enough positive things to say about this rescue organization. The shelters in the…read moretri-state area are awful. At the Cincinnati-area SPCAs, the dogs are living in absolute filth and squalor, and their health is not being attended to. They are giving them away at shocking, irresponsibly low prices, which I suppose they have to when their vet bills will be...who knows how high. As much as I want to rescue these babies, I don't have the time, energy, or expertise, but Sweet Dream House Rescue does. They are not breed-specific; they rescue dogs of all sizes and ages and get them in good health before adopting them out. The dogs also live with fosters instead of in a kennel, so the rescue organization has a good idea of what their temperament is. While our little guy was still at the end of his recovery from some skin issues when we adopted him, they were very up-front with us about it and provided us with the last of his medication and a contact in case his problems continued, in which case they assured us they would take them to their vet. As it turned out, his skin issues were and remain resolved, but I feel confident that if we had had issues, they would have taken care of him. The other reason we chose Dream House is their foster-to-adopt program. My husband is a musician, so it was important to us to find a dog who didn't mind the various funny loud sounds in our household. This can be kind of hard to predict without experience - even a dog who is ok with sirens and alarms sometimes isn't ok with sustained, strange noises they've never heard before. I reached out to another rescue organization who wasn't particularly understanding about this. Dream House was also very helpful in helping us find a dog who would be okay living in 1-bedroom, downtown apartment - despite what another review said about this, they weren't judgmental at all, but rather genuinely invested in finding the RIGHT dog for us. While their fee is slightly higher than some other organizations in town, you get what you pay for. We were given a full bag of high-quality dog food and treats, heartworm and flea medication, various pet store freebies, and, most importantly, a healthy, happy dog. (An important note: they are no longer cash/check only!)

Kate customized a training plan that fit Samsonite needs, personality and breeding purpose. Today, Samsonite goes on all kind of adventures like the creek, park and the beach. Our bond is inseparable and Samsonite has a new best friend. We never had been able to go places and going to the vet was dramatic . Today Samsonite is fearless confident and a happy boy! And oh does his face show it. There is nothing worse then feeling helpless and not being able comfort your dog. Kate saved Samsonite and showed him that life worth a second chance.
