Awesome locally owned fish store! I went to Aquatics and Exotics over the weekend to buy a school of fish for my small aquarium. I was almost overwhelmed by the variety of fish that they have and of course the 17,000 shark tank. Some tanks had a little bit of algae in them but if you've been in the hobby for a bit you know that algae isn't harmful to fish. The water on all the tanks looked clear. The amount of selection at the store is top notch! I picked out a few celestial pearl danios that I searched 5 other stores in the area to find. All my fish seem healthy and are coloring up in my tank now. I definitely appreciated the laid back feel of the store as opposed to the uptight feel of more big box retailers. Aquatics and Exotics will now be my go to store for anything fish related. read more

Aquatics and Exotics came to our rescue, moving our 75 gallon salt water tank an hour away. They were prompt and timely. Trevor and Jimmy were professional and made sure the move was quick and safe for the fish. The tank setup went as well. The entire job took just over 3 hours. Went in to browse this store while in the area. Had a great selection of fish with average prices, staff seemed knowledgeable and friendly. I disappointed by their lack of "exotics" which seemed limited to a bird in the front of the store and a turtle in the back, neither of which were for sale. I will probably check them out when I want to buy a new fish, but I a little concerned about their 24 hour warranty :-/ read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!!!!! I would advise everyone just come to Aquatics and Exotics once. It is truly an experience. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about a wide array of fish and aquatic species. The store has a large tank which houses three sharks. Yes, you can see real live sharks and not go to the aquarium. The store has 2 pm feeding shows on Saturday and Sunday of the sharks. We will also find, sting rays, an alligator and wide range of exotic fish. If you are bored, stop in and let the adventure begin! read more

Refund policy non existent. Bought 2 fish for $128 and within 6 days 1 died. Had 3 others that are in tank and the other one bought that day all still okay. Called and explained and owner said policy to refund is 24 hours. I explained what I spent and didn't think that was quite fair to spend $60 on a fish and have it 6 days. Told me to bring in fish and separate container of water to test. (even though other fish are fine) Said he can try and work "something out" I do appreciate that but the store is a far drive to not know if I will get refunded or not. I wasn't looking for a discount or credit either. Again, I do appreciate he gave opportunity to come in but just wasn't worth it for the drive and not to be guaranteed something. read more

Love this fish store. We got hooked on fishkeeping about a year ago and this has become our go-to store for our freshwater tanks. They have lots of saltwater fish as well. They have fish for all levels of fishkeepers, but we're beginners, so we stick with the smaller community fish for now. We purchased a lot of beautiful rainbows, swords, hatchets, corys, and tetras here and months later, they're all doing great in our tank. A&E seems to get new shipments every Thursday/Friday. If you're looking for a particular fish, call them on Wednesday to see if they have it in stock or will be getting it in that week's shipment. The interior of the shop is not pretty. A&E is definitely focused on caring for their fish and their customers, not keeping the front of the shop aesthetically pleasing. So don't walk through the front door and leave without checking the tanks. The beautiful fish keep us coming back. FYI: On my last trip here I learned that A&E will draw a big X across the front of tanks that have a sick fish inside. Fish in tanks with the X are not for sale. I was glad to know they care so much about caring for the fish as well as not selling sick fish to customers and spreading illness to other tanks. There's a shark tank in the back with 3 sharks and a huge grouper. My 18 month old isn't very interested in the sharks but she loves watching that grouper. Jason the owner had been awesome under every aspect and he will help educate you if you ask him too. His advice is always right on from what he had told me, his prices are a little high but his fish always look happy and healthy. I buy my fish from them, and they aren't cheap, but you need to educate yourself about where the fish come from and how they are caught. Jason only buys extremely high quality fish. So after going in the store to watch the sharks feed that was the highlight of the visit. The tanks were so dirty it wasn't funny. Their prices are extremely high. If you're in the market for large fish(fresh or saltwater) and willing to pay for them then this is the place to go. I just didn't care for the atmosphere at all. I kept looking hoping to find improvement but it didn't happen. I was not impressed nor will I ever buy from them. read more

This is one of those hole in the wall places that is a treasure trove once you enter. There are fish here I had only ever seen in books and dreamed about seeing in real life. The staff is knowledgeable for the most part and the ability to sit down and read from their selection of material on fish is a great pleasure. Even if you don't buy anything coming into this store is like entering a miniature aquarium at the zoo, with some creatures you'd never see even there! If you are looking for that hard to find fish, invertebrate, or aquatic creature this is the place to call. They will even take orders to call in stock they don't have and allow trade ins if you find you have an animal you can no longer care for. The only downside to this place are the prices which are a bit higher than market, the fish warranty (jack's pets offers 2 weeks, all about pets offers somewhere around 5 days, Aquatics and exotics only offers a one day warranty), and the number of dead or sick fish in the tanks. I guess the sickly fish and dead ones could be attributed to the fact that many of these species are VERY exotic and require special parameters that are difficult to meet in a commercial setting, and the fact that they take trade ins and wild caught fish which in some cases increases risk of dead or sick fish. That aside, this is a really great place to visit. I got good money trading in a piranha here, bought some very inexpensive aquatic plants and have found fish I could find nowhere else, I highly recommend it for the exotic/serious fish-keeper. read more
