Megan trained and boarded our 7 month old German Shepherd named Nova for two weeks. We've never had any of our dogs boarded/trained before, but after seeing the progress our pup has made after her time spent with Megan, we wholeheartedly recommend the service to others. The training provided by Megan (for both our dog and our family) has been incredible. The Nova we knew and loved is still her same, goofy, happy-go-lucky self, but she now carries a degree of confidence that she didn't quite have before taking her to K9 Off Leash. We received daily, regular updates on our dog's progress during the two weeks she was away and it totally eased our minds seeing the amount of fun our pup was having and all that she was learning in such a short period of time. I was worried about Nova missing us and being away from her family; but the videos/pictures we were getting proved that she was having the time of her life and moreorless having a vacation of her own. A lot of people claim to be "dog people" but they really aren't. That's not the case with Megan and the rest of K9 Off Leash. They truly ARE dog people; and when your pup is with them you can rest easy knowing they're in good hands. OLK9 has been so amazing! Our 1-year old Bernese Mountain Dog is sweet as can be, and just as stubborn. And she had us wrapped around her giant paws and she knew it. After a 1-week board and train with Doug at OLK9, she is so much more well behaved. She's still a puppy and we are continuing to reinforce her training at home, but we could not be more impressed with her progress so far. No more jumping on us when we walk in the door, and no more stealing food out of our 5-year old's hands. Today we had the first snow of the season, and playing in the snow is our pup's favorite thing in the world. She managed to sneak past me and out the door. I was afraid I'd be chasing her down all day because we hadn't even gotten her e-collar on for the day yet. But I used the Come command she was taught by Doug and she came running back over to me! Off Leash K9 has really been worth every penny. And the staff are all super nice and helpful. Doug sent me videos of her training every day while she was with him. And when she had her follow-up lesson with him, she was so excited to see him again! You can tell they really love dogs and what they do. It makes a huge difference. When we first decided we were going to get another fur family member, we knew we wanted to find a good training program for him.  After researching and asking for recommendations, we reached out to Off Leash K9 Training, specifically Amy.  From the first interaction, I was put at ease.  She was already wanting to see pictures (even at the time he was first born and we were waiting to bring him home!), sent me pictures of her fur baby, and also plenty of reading and prep materials.  We were very impressed!  After only having dropped him off the same day, she sent us a video of him working and we were shocked, in a good way!  Each day she sent numerous updates, pics, and videos and we were beyond pleased.  After our long 2 weeks and he was ready to come home, we spent a few hours learning how to properly work with him at home.  It wasn't a "here you go and good luck", we were put to the test as well.  He has now been home for a month and we are still amazed every day.  We are more comfortable now taking Kevin everywhere with us now knowing we both have commands to keep him safe.  He is such a good boy and we cannot be happier with all he had learned. I was very concerned about doing the board and train with our rescue dog. She was pretty timid and I was not sure she would do well in a kennel overnight since she is not crated at home. Off Leash training was excellent in hearing my concerns and letting me bring her in for a test run to see how she did in a kennel before we committed. Doug was her trainer and her is so personable and made dropping her off a breeze. Willow was not eating for the first few days making her lethargic. He worked with me to determine ways to get her to eat and once she did, she bounced back and took well to the training. We have only had her home for a few days, and although we still have some work to do, she is already responding to my commands during our at home work. She is a stubborn dog, but it is clear she knows the commands and learned what she needed to succeed. I am especially thankful for the included sessions to allow for us to continue to learn. Doug went above and beyond treating Willow like one of his own and keeping me abreast of how she was doing with daily check ins. I would most definitely use Off Leash and Doug again whem we rescue our next dog! read more

We want to thank Doug Drake for an amazing job at training Axl our 1 year old rottie. Axl was having issues with aggression and family guarding. He would not calm down when he went into these rages, because he blocked our voices out. Anything he could fit his mouth belonged to him. He hated the lawn equipment and the vacuum. Axl would consistently (take us for a walk) instead of us walking him. He wanted to leash pull and go after anything around him, people and animals. we worried about his safety as well as others. He needed professional help, so we called and spoke with Jeff the owner. He set us up with a trainer, Doug Drake. Little did we know, this guy (Doug) would forever change Axl and our lives. Doug was able to teach him commands and how to drown out/ ignore distractions which was greatly needed. Our boy is now well behaved, obedient and does great with listening to us. My one year old pup and I had the pleasure of working with Doug for the 2 week board and train program. This was the best decision I could have made for myself, and my dog. Doug was so caring for her, you could tell she truly loved working with him. I was nervous of the e-collar training at first, but Doug was so explanatory in everything that came along with the collar and the training. He took the time to listen to all of my concerns with Lucy, and target those with the training. He sent photos and videos almost every single day, and truly made my girl a part of his family for those two weeks. His tips have taught me how to be a better owner, and teach my puppy how to use her energy for good-- she truly loves to work on her training and loves getting praised for her success. Her one year adoption day fell in the middle of her training, and Doug was sure to spoil her a little extra for me that day. Sunni from the Loveland location was absolutely amazing to work with and did amazing work with my 5 month old lab puppy, Clifford! We had been working with him a lot at home prior to this training, but there is only so much you can do with positive reinforcement and treats and I am so happy with his progress and everything he was able to accomplish. Clifford's big issues were walking and listening to commands with distractions and after the two week board and train he has essentially mastered these (or at least gotten close and now we have a surefire way to ensure we can still get his attention!). While it was hard being separated from our puppy for 2 weeks, it was great to get pictures and videos throughout the day, everyday, to follow-up on his progress. I went to Off Leash K9 from a recommendation, and I could not recommend it enough to anyone else considering putting their dog through a training program - you have to do the Off Leash K9 2 week board and train program for a better version of your dog! read more

I can't recommend Off Leash K9 Training and especially our trainer, Amy Sweeney, highly enough! When researching online I found stellar reviews for every company. However, when interviewed in person, the differences were staggering. Off Leash K9 Training only assigns one dog to each trainer for their 2 week board and train program and the dog stays with the trainer in their home. Being a "pandemic puppy" Mbili was not used to being around many people outside the family. Amy took the time to let Mbili get comfortable with her and treated Mbili as a part of her family. That's how she made such fantastic progress so that our 93# Ridgeback loads up into the car easily and walks off leash, even with deer around! The one-on-one training means there is likely a wait to get in, but Off Leash K9 Training is well worth it and you won't be disappointed. At the very least, I strongly recommend you meet with potential trainers and see where your dog will be boarded in person before making a decision. read more

Britney did a fantastic job with Cooper, our Australian Shepherd! He is two years old, and a good dog most of the time, but he was very reactive. He barks at every person or pet that walks by. We had taken him for the 4 lesson package, but we did not do a great job continuing to work with him. As a result, he had to start from scratch. Britney took him for two weeks and we have had an amazing transformation. She had Cooper heeling, sitting, staying and recalling in short order. She also worked wonders with his reactivity. She had him training in public parks and under control, where he could have never done that before. The amazing thing about Britney, is that although she worked Cooper very hard, she showed him a tremendous amount of care and affection. When you send your dog away for two weeks, you want to know they are well cared for. Britney treated Cooper like her own and Cooper bonded well with her. I can't thank her enough. read more

This could be the best business I have dealt with in a long time. They have an office very close to me and my dog but I would have driven to California to take my dog to Bre. The owners were very helpful and call back right away. There costumer service is second to none. Bre took our dog and gave me back a dog that is a delight to be around. Sheldon had a lot of bad habits and she fixed everyone of them. Bre sent videos and pictures all through the day of the them working and playin. This is the place to take your dog, not to mention the 2 hours she worked with me when I picked him up. I left there knowing so much more. Plus I can always have support later if I need it. We can't say enough positive things about our experience with Keely! Our lab puppy (Asher) just recently went through the 2 week train and board program and we had an incredible experience. We picked him up this week and he is still his loving self and has a big personality but he listens so well & responds to the commands he learned. We could not be more impressed with the results and what Kelly accomplished with Asher in 2 weeks. Keely communicated daily with pictures, videos and constant communication/updates about progress and it was so fun to see each day! While the progress was fun to see, it was also nice to be assured he was being so well cared for and enjoying his time during training. We did the 2 week Board and Train for our 9 month old Goldadore/Poodle puppy, Ruby, and we couldn't be happier with her progress. Doug did a fantastic job with daily texts, pictures and video updates. He truly treated her as one of his own. He even treated her to a Starbucks puppuccino after a day of training, which she loved! We were struggling with typical puppy behaviors and having difficulty walking her on a loose leash. After two weeks with Doug, she is now a joy to walk. He also worked on door manners and basic commands. Ruby has gained so much confidence and loves to go "out and about" to practice everything Doug has taught her. We had a wonderful experience! Our dog, Brando, took to the training right away. Brando is a 75 pound, 6 year old pitt bull. While he had some training before going to Jeff, I never trusted that he would follow commands. It has been a year since completing the course and while we still use the collar on occasion to keep him fresh, Brando, responds to commands and walks off lead without a hitch and without needing the collar. It is a real joy to take him for walks. We even took him to Hocking Hills this fall and hiked with him off lead. We were so confident in his obedience, that we never even worried about him in the rugged terrain of the park. Brando is a happier dog now because we can go and do. I took my 2.5 year old pomsky to the 4 week basic program with Tim Sweeney. Tim was incredible! Over the course of the month my dog has changed so much. Prior to training, he was stubborn and did not tend to listen much. He would run when the leash was dropped and he was reactive towards other dogs. After training with Tim, he is always listening and following commands, even without the collar! He walks without a leash and does not react to distractions such as people or other dogs! Even my friends and family have noticed a difference in his behavior. When I take him out in public, I am always complimented on his training! Highly recommend, worth every cent. I've been a long time dog owner, but never actually did obedience before. But we adopted an amazing pitty who couldn't contain his #60 of love and excitement. I decided to do the 8 week program so I could learn some skills along with our dog. Dacia was amazing! So good and understanding, and made the training very personalized for our big guy. She really, truly understands dogs. She was so patient and constructive on my mistakes and never made me feel like was hopeless (I definitely struggled with coordinating using commands and the remote at the same time ‍). Doug did a super phenomenal job with Nala-Bear over the two weeks he had her. I received photos and videos everyday of her progress. Not only did Doug tell me when I dropped Nala-Bear off, that she was in good hands and will be taken care of. He proved that in the photo's and videos. Nala-Bear was really excited on her break commands to get to Doug and that showed me she was comfortable with him. With Nala-Bear being a German Shepard and 5 months old. I needed to make sure she had proper training to set her up for future endeavors and Doug has definitely made that easy for me. We sent our 16 months old GSD for a two-week board and train program with Whitney. Luckily, our dog had no significant behavioral problems just general disobedience. We just picked him up and he is a different dog! He spent two weeks with Whitney and learned better manners by interacting with her family and going on many field trips. I feel confident that we will be all set to go for walks in crowded situations and even off leash on appropriate trails. And Whitney was really really good to my boy. We had both of our dogs participate in the 2 week board and train. We have tried other training in the past with little success. Keely trained both of them and she was amazing! We especially enjoyed the photo and video updates that we received throughout the process. She paid close attention to their personalities and trained them accordingly. She loved on them as if they were her own. They are home now and doing great! We feel much more comfortable with them at home, having guests over, and taking them out in public. It has helped ease a lot of stress that was being caused by the dogs. We feel much more equipped to handle their unique personalities and have much more control over them. read more
