I have purchased a few firearms from the store, shot a decent number of times at the range, and now done my NJ CCW here. I have enjoyed myself each trip here, and the worst I can say is that there is a bit of favoritism in the shop itself towards regulars But I've also seen a crazy amount of people just wasting the shops time kicking tires... So to be fair, I get it and look forward to becoming more of a regular myself. That being said, I've never been treated better or in a more personally friendly way than by the range staff. The range and course pricing is great, the range staff is friendly and helpful, and overall it's just tries to be what it is, which is a functional utilitarian range. If you actually care about practicing with your firearms and not just getting some Instagram photo ops. I'd recommend stopping in. Just some FYI stuff that I wish i knew way back my 1st time ever going: They Do Not rent guns so you need to own your own, parking can be a little hard to get, you can bring your own supplies (ammo, targets, etc.), and finally the range staff is again, super helpful so do not be afraid to ask if you don't understand a rule or how to do something. It is always better with firearms to ask 1st rather than to do something you might regret, and they are all about making the experience great and productive towards your shooting skill improvement. read more

Came in with my family today and we had a great time. The people in the front were very friendly. Once we got into the range Moses was there to help us out. We brought our own guns and he was extremely knowledgeable on all of them. He was also patient & friendly with those of us that didn't know how to shoot and gave a very detailed explanation on safety and hitting the target. Simple, plain indoor fun range and very fairly priced! It doesn't have those high tech things but old school, no frills range. The target clips are a bit too worn out making the target facing a bit to the side, taking away one star. Nevertheless, a worthy place to polish your skills. read more

Been going here for years. I used to qualify there for my previous employment. Now I live close by, so it's local. I always get a port when I go. The prices are reasonable compared to the other ranges in North Jersey. The range master reminds me on Clint Eastwood, always friendly to me. Its well lit and gets the job done. Hard to find their prices online, and the info on the gun forums are old, and when you call them, they give different prices on the phone than in-store. I did an hour on the range in November, and they charged me $15/hr, last month they charged me $20/hr and this week, they charged me $15/hr again, for a port. I was shooting long gun and pistol 22LR I also called to confirm transfer fees. Was told $75 including NICS. So I transferred a long gun through them, but when I went in to pay, I was charged $93.51 total ($75 FFL Fee + $15 NICS + 3.51 Tax). I told them that I confirmed by phone that it was $75 but he told me i was incorrectly informed. So here's a Public Service Announcement: Bullet Hole Range Fees as of January 2021 as per my experience and receipts: Range Fee: $20/hr (sometimes $15) Transfer Fee: $93.51 total ($75 FFL Fee* + $15 NICS + 3.51 NJ Tax) *NICS Fee is NOT INCLUDED in the $75 FFL Fee. Hope this helps anyone else trying to find out what they charge before heading down there. Wife and I went for a little practice today so we hit the good old bullet hole ! The place is nothing high end or super clean but it has what you need to get your skills up for under 20 bucks for an hour . A roll of targets is only 3.75 . We brought our own ammo so I can tell you about their prices on that . The range master was very pleasant and professional to deal with very out going person ! Few negative are bathrooms are smelly and not to clean and the place is set up for about 22 yards at max . They have some rules like no wolf ammo , they post them on every port . There 10 ports in total . Nothing fancy but gets the job done at a great price ! read more

Out dated and unkept. No pictures and videos at all avoid at all cost. Even the range instructor was rude and had an attitude for no reason.

The Bullet Hole is not what it used to be. Manny is never there during the day and it's being operated mostly by Ben, who acts like he hates his job and his customers. He is overworked and understaffed and the overall atmosphere is abrupt and unfriendly with long wait times for service. Ben's sister Jen is still nice, but she is not there as much as she used to be. I will drive to Cabela's in Hamburg, PA an hour and a half from where I live before I buy again at The Bullet Hole. There are closer alternatives, too. The only reason I give two stars is because Manny still comes in at night and Jen is sometimes there. read more

I have to say. My experience wasn't like the majority of the reviews as far as customer service. I was being helped by an older gentleman. Not sure if he was the owner. Could he have smiled and interacted more, yes. But there is no law that says they have to be friendly. As long as they provide the proper service to meet your needs as a customer. However, I do believe hospitality goes a long way and will bring you more business. With that said, I purchased my first firearm at casos gun-a-rama in jersey city. And due to the Amazing customer service and hospitality, I will ONLY purchase firearms from there. But in no way did he make me feel uncomfortable or disrespected. It was a straight forward transaction. Nothing more nothing less. The highlight of my experience was when I walked into the shooting area and was greeted by the instructor. an older black man. Wish I got his name. But he was so welcoming, polite, full of positive energy and just a good spirit. For that reason I will be back. But I can't blame people for feeling some type of way. If I would have shared the same experience as some of you, my review would be completely different. I 100% suggest going with your gut and spending your money where you feel comfortable and appreciated. Never met jen. From what I read I hear she is awesome. Came here to use the range & bought ammo. Staff at front desk (man & woman) are very helpful. Reasonable prices. As another Yelper mentioned, it does feel like you're in somebody's basement. At the range, "Moses", the Range Safety Officer, went above our expectations in providing us a plastic gun for my son- a 1st time shooter, as well as some tips. He even refused a tip! We did not feel rushed or uncomfortable. Everyone here (staff & customers) were friendly. If the parking was more accessible and if the place was a little roomier/classed up, it'd get 5 stars. read more

Living in NYC it is very difficult to get range time in, private ranges in Staten Island are super expensive. The Bullet Hole is perfect to hone your pistol skills . $15 an hour is a bargain. 1/2 hour away , great location. It's exactly what you need to squeeze off a box or 2 of ammo. The Bullet Hole is a cool little place. If you did not know this place was here you would drive y it without giving it a second thought. I was in area for work but also made time to visit friends and family. A friend challenged me to a little shooting competition and I accepted. The only problem was that neither of us had a firearm to shoot. I usually have my firearm with me at all times in California but hardly ever take it take it with me when I travel. We arrived at the Bullet Hole and once I presented my retired Police I.D. they were more than happy to help us. The staff here hooked us up with a Berretta 92-FS, ammo & eye/hearing protection. We walked into the range and were able to fire off as many rounds as we liked, we arrived when the doors opened, no lines, no people waiting for us to get off the range, no drama. We had a good ole time and as for the challenge itself it was never a challenge I destroyed my friend and he ended up buying lunch & dinner. The next time I am in the area I will without question come back here to pop off a few rounds. My local firing range in Los Angeles is the LAX firing range where you can extend you target out to 75 yards, here at the Bullet Hole it is a little shorter. At LAX firing range you can firearm slugs, rifle round, you name it you can probably fire it. At the Bullet Hole you have a few restrictions. Both at LAX firing range at the Bullet Hole you can purchase firearms. Please remember these basic four rules when handling a firearm: 1. All firearms are always loaded. 2. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are aligned and you intend to shoot. 3. Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy. Be sure of your target. 4. Maybe I'm a little spoiled with the ranges that we have in south Jersey and PA, but I wasn't really a fan of this place... As you pull up, you're a little thrown off with where exactly to park. There is a side street that runs parallel to the train tracks and inbetween that side street and the train tracks, there's a gravel area to park in. It's full of potholes and it gets very muddy at times. And it looks a little shadey at night. Once you make your way into the storefront, you'll be surprised with how small this place is. However, they sell a huge amount of goods and ammo. There's literally stuff everywhere, but since the storefront is so small, it just looks junky and cluttered. Making it almost feel like a flea market. To add to that, if you have to wait for the range, you're better off going back to your car because it's so tight in there, it's uncomfortable. The range itself has 10 ports that are 23 yards long. 23 yards long is one of the shorter ranges that I've been to, but that doesn't really matter to me because I'm not a distance shooter. Even though it's only 23 yards long, you can still shoot any type of ammo, including high powered stuff. The only restrictions that I saw were you're not allowed to use Wolf brand ammo and you're not allowed to rapid fire. I've heard and read many people complain about how rude the staff is, but I've never had a problem with them. The way I look at it is safety comes first, so if you're doing stupid shit or asking stupid questions, you deserve an attitude from the staff. And if you can't handle that then maybe you should seek out another activity like crocheting. All in all, this place was suitable... For me... But that's because I have my own firearms, ammo, targets, and gear. So all that really matters to me is the price and wait time. The price was about average. Literally just a couple of dollars more than my local range. The ammo and other goods seemed to be about average too. My only real complaint about this place is how small the storefront is, which makes it uncomfortable to wait, especially if there's other people waiting as well. read more

This isn't the nicest shooting range around but its one of my personal favorites. This place hands down has some of the cheapest prices which is great. They have a large selection of guns and ammo you can buy. I dont think this place will rent you a gun to shoot. almost positive. If you get targets and an hour of range time it will cost you about $20 which is not bad at all. Whats great about this place is you can always get a booth even on weekends. If you go to other local spots like "Gun For Hire" you can wait over 2+ hours for a booth which is ridiculous. Here there is no extra charge if you bring more people unlike the competition. You just pay 1 price and 2 or 3 of you can take turns shooting in the same booth which is great. i am a regular customer and i have never been disappointed. read more

Cool little spot where you can shoot a few rounds for not too much money. $10 per booth for a half hour. You can bring your own ammo as long as it's not on their restricted list. A box of 9mm's will run ya $17 and targets are less than a dollar a piece. Obviously, eyes and ears at all times on the range. Not sure if they rent out guns, but they do service them. Service is pretty cheap too. Follow the rules and you'll have a fun, safe time. I broke the no rapid firing rule by mistake today, but luckily the staff gave me a warning instead of kicking me out. read more
