Everything went well. We visited this store back in Dec '25, and spoke to Kris. He gave us valuable info on how and where to apply for a handgun permit. I did so, and by Feb '26, we went back to buy a gun through him. He was not there, so we asked if they carry a particular gun. They did, and gave us further valuable info. They didn't have the one we wanted in stock, and we wanted Kris to help us anyway, but they were scheduled to have a shipment in 4 weeks. So we returned yesterday and this time Kris was there and he helped us buy the gun of our choice. To say that everyone who works there is extremely helpful and friendly, is an understatement. All the employees are active or retired law enforcement and it's a very safe-feeling store. I've never felt that secure anywhere. We are returning in a few days to pick it up, bc there's a background check waiting period, for which I'm grateful. Kris has so much information and is highly qualified to answer all our questions. In today's times, crime is out of control, and I can't stop thinking about keeping myself and my family safe at home and when we are out and about. Criminals are everywhere!! So if you're like myself, either new to guns or just getting reacquainted with them, you definitely want to purchase a Firearm from someone who, without a doubt, knows the business. On my first visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Cati (an retired law enforcement and marksman) whose knowledge of firearms and safety is stella. And we did not purchase anything that time, but my wife and I left more knowledgeable and a bit more confident on what we might be looking for. The second time, coming back after doing extensive research on the firearm I possibly wanted, I met one of the Co-owner, Mike and Chris, who both helped immensely with my final decision on my firearm purchase. They both ask me numerous questions, which help narrow down what I wanted and needed. I went with the Glock19. A few days later, after my paperwork was approved, I came back to finally pick up my Firearm, and again, it was all love and congratulating and welcoming me to the Firearms family. I don't really understand some of the negative comments here. Not sure what people are looking for from sales staff. It's a gun store. It's serious business with serious people. My first visit here. I was acknowledged upon entering with a hello. I was asked shortly after that if I needed help (by Paul). When he wrapped up what he was doing he gave me his attention and showed me (close) to what I was looking for. Offered alternative for me. While nosing around two others asked if I needed assistance. Wow!! Just wow!!!! This place is just neck level. Starting off with the fire arms, the accessories, the apparel, the ammo, down to the display cases! This place really blew my mind. I remember when it was on route 46 a long time ago, boy did they upgrade! Driving here you can almost miss it because it's so low key, and hidden. As soon as we parked, 1 sided mirrors from the outside so you can't see inside. When you walk in, it's like literally heaven. It's magical, the lighting, the ammo. It's truly insane, everyone is super friendly. However, they are super strict. They asked me for the FID, loved that! They showed me a few things I was interested in. Just overall fun vibes here, the staff also knows their stuff! Fully trained, fully qualified, I 1000% felt safe here, and they weren't afraid to teach me (would I appreciated). This is a definite recommended place to go see all types of firearms, ammo, and if you like the community just go to vibe. 10 out of 10 recommend. I came here for the good reviews, and I truly don't understand where these good reviews are coming from. I have been to the physical location twice and both times the men were simply rude and unhelpful. Both times I waited over five minutes to be acknowledged. I then called to get information and the person on the phone who I have his name but I'll be friendly and not say it made a snarky comment to me and then put me on hold for 10 minutes. I have the timestamp to prove it I then had to hang up and call again. I regret spending over $1000 at the shop. They act contemptuous of their customers. Gun for Hire in Woodland Park is also a really good store, better in some respects, but the help there is friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. They'll answer your questions when you're thinking of laying down a wad of money for something you don't know much about, like a red dot sight on a handgun. They don't tell you to look it up on the web. The only reason I shop this place is because they have the best selection of Sigs around. That's it. As a first time gun purchaser I did as much research as I thought should be helpful. There are thousands of videos and articles, and every friend, and friends of friends, that has a firearm hasn't held back on offering up advice. Frankly, it's been overwhelming and I have taken pause as I overthink and thus postpone my next buying decision. And then I met these folks at Ottomanelli's where I've been able to start a conversation about any firearm topic. Frankly, looking back on some of my questions, and my sheer ignorance, much of which persists, not once did they laugh, at least to my face. They have been incredibly forthcoming with information. They engage with me in conversation and the folks working there each join in happily, sometimes contradicting, quite professionally, their coworkers as they discuss, yes discuss, the merits of what, when and where. I met Tom on my first visit, about as honest and kind as one could ever hope to meet, irrespective an environment. He provided me with my very first range lesson, the ins and outs, the continuous focus on safety, the joy of doing things properly. Not a single critical remark was delivered, simply how to make the necessary corrections and why those corrections were necessary, Then there was Dave who has a wealth of information, knowledge of the 'process' for acquiring, details about each item and with a non-nonsense approach while business is underway. And, like a switch when the serious business is complete, is extremely nice and quite hilarious. That Jekyll-Hyde approach is exactly what's needed to make sure every i is dotted, every t crossed. Simply put, a wealth of information and a good banter buddy. And then there's Mike O., the senior, one of the owners, that has been an absolute delight to engage. Of course he's knowledgable with decades of experience and detail, including how to run a clearly successful business. Finding the right people to handle the business on a daily basis is as much of an art as a science, and Mike Sr.'s expertise on selecting and mentoring these folks is an extraordinary feat. Kudos. I look forward to visiting with these folks, asking my inane questions, being set straight and heading home with far more knowledge than I expected. I've been to this shop several times. I deal with Chris and Dave often, both of whom are all-around helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely nice guys. The shop often has things I can't find anywhere else. Multiple things I've picked up here were impossible to find elsewhere. The shop is always well-stocked and the prices are fair. Some say they are a bit higher, but I have no problem with that given the selection, convenience, and support I get here. If you're looking for something, these guys will be able to get it. What isn't pleasant is one gent who works there (a bit bigger, pasty fella). He's INCREDIBLY rude. For no reason whatsoever. I like the store, I like their ammo stock and for the most part I like their staff sans this one guy. I had visited few stores before stopping in . It looked expensive from the road and I was hoping to do some business with a smaller shops expecting greater expertise and to support them . I have to say I was totally wrong about the pricing and I've never met a group of more educated and experienced sales people and almost any line of business. Very disappointed with my experience, picking up my new firearm at this store today. I arrived a little bit early and pulled into what I believe was a parking spot. Around the time the store was going to open. Apparently one of the owners Mike Junior pulled into the parking lot. Apparently I was in his spot. He pulled in and basically put his bumper right against my bumper, essentially blocking me in. There were no signs saying this was employee parking or anything of that nature. Or a sign saying reserved. After being concerned that he was actually going to Touch and hit my vehicle. I wave my arms for him to back up and I pulled out and let him take his spot. Upon entering the store, I addressed the situation with him, and he came across in my opinion as unapologetic and arrogant. Instead of apologizing to his customer that just purchased $1000 gun, it was almost defiant. Needless to say I will never be going back there again. Helped me with all my questions, gave me great feedback and instilled confidence of my purchase answered more questions and honestly couldn't of been any friendlier than he was. Let me qualify; if the salesperson is older, fat, and bearded, of which there are a number, chances are you'll be dealing with an arrogant contemptuous prick. If you get one of the young guys, you're good to go. Otherwise, good selection, acceptable price on firearms, but a lot of accessories, especially optics, are WAY overpriced. Too bad there are so few gun stores to choose from. Since they are one of the few, they feel they can treat their customers like dirt. Awesome place with a comprehensive and reasonably priced selection (got my Henry .22 for well under MSRP). Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who respected me and were patient despite my lack of firearms purchasing experience and were helpful every step of the way. I had already done my due diligence on the firearm I wanted to purchase and they had that exact rifle so it was a super streamlined process and relieved some of the headache of getting your first firearm. The staff didn't push me to buy anything and was a great resource for a first time gun buyer while also not putting pressure on the individual to make a purchase they weren't sure of. They could improve their selection of .22/rimfire specific accessories such as cleaning instruments, but I'll let it slide as the customer service was awesome and I really enjoyed my experience with the staff. Pretty idiotic that you get to this store and you have to wait in line outside, I mean I understand the pandemic rules are still in place but at least take phone numbers and call us when you're ready like other stores do.
