I needed a licensed electrician to install 120V power to the exterior of my home in Camarillo. After checking social media for recommendations, I contacted the two top-rated electricians in my area. The difference in both waiting time and pricing was significant. Tim at Bulldog Electric was able to respond the same day, and his quote was considerably lower than the other company. I was especially impressed with the quality of the finished work, including the stucco repair, which was exceptional. Based on this experience, I would gladly call Tim again for future projects. Had a v good experience with Tim, he did a great job in the car charger installation and was v pleasant and efficient

We wanted to replace a kitchen light switch and have a florescent light replaced with a led light and also have a couple of ceiling fans that were working intermittently looked at. Called Tim with Bulldog electric. He came out in about 20 minutes and went right to work and completed everything we wanted. We couldn't be happier with his work and would highly recommend him if you need any electrical work done around your home. Mike and Sally B. read more

Charged me $150 to tell me that my electric panel was working after a power surge damaged a bunch of appliances. Had ask him check the outlets but didn't seem like he wanted to to be here. Hired another electrician who fixed outlets that could have caused a fire and a helped our huge get back to safter after an SCE Power Surge. Gave 2 stars because I liked the name. read more

Tim arrived early and quickly solved the main problem he came to my house to fix, which is the only reason why I'm not leaving a 1-star review. Seeing that he seemed to know his way around electrical wiring, I asked if he knew anything about how to hook up z-wave smart switches to 3-way wiring, he confidently answered yes. I had been having trouble getting both switches to communicate, and figured a professional should be able to solve it in about 15 minutes. Tim, though, spent the next 2.5 hours unsuccessfully trying to hook up the 3-way switches, and after giving up and leaving them in a less useful state than they were when he started, he informed me that I owed him for 3 hours of his time. I asked him, "You want me to pay you full price for something you couldn't do?" To which, he informed me that I was paying for his time, not results. In my opinion, he should have just been honest in the first place and said, "No, I don't know how to do that." Instead, he wasted 2.5 hours of MY time and then had the nerve to demand that I pay extra hundreds of dollars to compensate HIM for that time. I paid him what he asked, but the more I process how everything went down, the more insulting and unethical it all seems. I know if I can't successfully do a job, I have the humility to apologize for thinking I could do the job, and I understand that demanding full payment for a job not done is terribly arrogant, and won't do me in favors in the long run. In this case, Bulldog Electric has lost a customer. read more

Tim did a great job with installing 2 exhaust fan lights (one in each bathroom) and a ceiling light in the master bedroom closet. He also answered and explained a few questions that I had about gfci outlets and future projects with my bathroom vanity light fixture. Highly recommended. Looking forward to working with him again on future projects. read more

Excellent response time and very reasonable rates. Responded over Christmas weekend and got the job done quickly. Thank you!

Fantastic service, very knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, showed up on time, and did everything at a fair price. I would very highly recommend Bulldog Electric! read more

I had to revise my review because I am beside myself. He came out 2 days ago and installed a fan for my sons room. Everything was great until yesterday when we lost power to not only the fan but 2 other rooms and a bathroom. He did come back out fairly quickly which was nice but, two and a half hours later he had live wires hanging out in the bathroom and 2 bedrooms. My husband helped him the entire time, staying on his phone down at the breaker box, flipping switches... he wanted to "burn" one of our extension cords and use it as a temporary fix. Then, he charged us another $250! Leaving wires out, furniture misplaced and a huge mess. I'm out $600 to this guy and I had to hire someone else to correct everything. Total for a ceiling fan installation will probably run me more than $1200. read more

We've called Tim from Bulldog electric twice. First for recessed lighting in the living room and add electrical over the fireplace. Next to come back to install additional outlets and replace ceiling lights and a new porch light. Tim responds quickly, he's efficient and takes steps to leave the house in good condition.. his pricing is reasonable read more

Contacted Tim for an inspection of the electrical system in my customized mobile salon RV and he was able to come out within a couple days. Extremely knowledgeable and fairly priced. He came back out a couple days later to add a dedicated circuit and outlet. Excellent work! Will definitely be contacting him again for any future electrical work! read more

UPDATE: As a result of my first experience with Tim and Bulldog, I have now used him two more times. First, underneath the pergola in my backyard, I needed an electrical outlet. He immediately identified how to do it, installed one and it looks like it came with the house. While there, I asked if he could also install a floodlight so my wife and I could see all of our grass and trees at night. I wanted something bright, but not obnoxious. He actually did a lot of homework before I even gave him the green light and ended up with the perfect solution. Once again, it matches the house perfectly. And he is such a perfectionist that he kept tapping the new light's switch cover to make sure it was perfectly straight. Most people don't take their jobs this seriously. And to top that, I asked about installing a sconce and while some people would say it was a good idea just to make a buck, he was very honest and discouraged me from doing it because of the potential costs. Thank you Tim. You have a customer for life! ORIGINAL: I know people often say that you shouldn't go with the cheapest quote, but I rolled the dice and came up with a winner. So, I just got an electric car and wanted a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed on the outside of my house. In addition, I wanted it to be a simple deal where I could call someone, they bring everything needed to complete the task and I could just write a check. Well, Bulldog promised an easy process and delivered. Others I contacted asked for me to buy accessories and a few even warned me of potential damage to the outside of the home or that a mess was possible. Bulldog again assured me that I shouldn't be concerned. At one point, when Bulldog had to leave the house to get a few more materials, they even texted me to give me notice. Well, when the job was done, it looked like the outlet had come with the house. The job was incredibly professional. I can't thank Bulldog enough and look forward to using them for future electrical ne read more

Nice guy , responded very quickly , I gave him my cell number for better communication since I don't check Yelp often. He immediately sent me a text message to my cell so I can have his contact number. Showed up same day , fixed the issue and replaced a power socket. Over all good experience he definitely gave me a good vibe and will contact for future electrical issues read more

Mr. Ashcraft, owner of Bulldog Electric, is an excellent electrician. He was quick in responding to our messages and returned calls promptly. He gave the quote amount up front and did the work himself. He is punctual and does excellent work. We will be calling him for all our future electrical work. We highly recommend him. read more

Nice guy, made quick work of replacing a 240V outlet for my EV. Very personable and willing to share electrical advice. Thanks!

Has the experience and knowledge. However, he does not demonstrate the humility to understand new technologies and uses his experience as the absolute instead of learning and adapting. If you need traditional electrical work then he does the job. However, when you have IoT that requires some newer adaptions of electrical work, then looked elsewhere. read more

I sure wish I had called Bulldog Electric sooner. I had a number of electrical issues after moving into a new residence. I selected a different company after seeing their ad in a mailed promotion brochure. They came in and did a few things but extremely overcharged me for 2 items and estimated 2 more items at over $3000. I reached out to other companies on yelp and selected Bulldog based on his response to my need and his accurate estimate of what it would cost. When Tim Ashcroft arrived the next day I felt very relieved. After seeing the job and what was needed he confirmed his estimate and proceeded to do the job efficiently and neatly. He even revised his estimate lower on a second job after seeing what was needed. He provided a solution to a problem that saved me well over $2000. Accurate, diligent, very fair, honest and a nice guy, I would recommend him to all my friends. P.L. read more

After getting one quote from a contractor and then calling two places twice in one week and not getting a response from either place, I was very happy when Tim answered my call and gave me reasonable quotes. It was great that he was able to come out the next morning as well. He converted our six fluorescent lights in the kitchen to dimmable LED modules I purchased from Amazon in 1.5 hours and installed our Ring camera with floodlights over the garage in 2 hours. He is pleasant, knowledgeable, and honest. I would highly recommend him. read more

Would call again for another job. He came the same day, was nice and knowledgeable and responsibly priced.

Gave a fair quote and promptly scheduled the work for my small 2K job, where other contractors did not bother to return calls or schedule. I felt heard as a customer, needs were met and even a miscommunication on the quote was made right by redoing a wire runI felt could look better. He works hard, came prepared and is friendly. He even let me use all my own customer provided lights, bulbs and fan instead of only using his own products. Would recommend to s neighbor, friend and family. read more
