Called Ballard Electric again (on a Friday) because my garage car charger stopped working. They set an appointment for today (Monday) and sent Victor and Peter out to troubleshoot. In the meantime, I had several placed to be over the weekend and ended up going to a public rapid charger to get enough power to make it to various appointments, but it was stressful as my battery was only at 40 miles. Peter and Victor discovered that the breaker switch needed to be replaced (which was what I suspected because it kept flipping to neutral rather than staying off or on). Victor said the breaker switch was a "Home Depot special" but a good one. However, they didn't have it on their truck and their usual suppliers didn't carry that model, so they needed to get it from Home Depot (HD). The HD by my house was out so they had to go to the next city over to pick one up. They were back in about an hour with the new switch and changed it out very quickly. I asked them about switching out some exterior lights, but told them that the garage car charger was the priority. Since it took so long to get the new switch (they didn't get back to the house until almost 5 p.m.), I called Kyle to set up a new date for them to come back and replace the lights on the outside of the house for me. Victor and another electrician will be back on Wednesday to replace seven exterior lights for me. Obviously, Ballard Electric is my go-to for all my electrical needs. AC/Heating unit would not power on. The guy who fixed it didn't tell me how much it was to complete the repair. I got an invoice a day later. I say maybe 5 or 10 minutes later a couple areas in my house power outlets no longer worked. I let them know able the issue. This is my second review of Ballard. I asked for quotes for an install of a new electric panel and EV charger as I am applying for a rebate from Southern California Edison. Ballard got back to me quickly and asked for my email address. He said he would send it out soon. That was on July 10. Today is August 22nd. No quote. Maybe he got to busy, but it would have been nice if he had explained. Not a big deal, he is still a nice guy. Victor and his team (working for Ballard Electric) did an incredible job with both a 200a panel upgrade and an EV charger installation. We had an old 1960's GE panel go bad and need replacement; Victor quickly identified the issue, gave an honest (and competitive) quote to replace the panel (the old panel is no longer manufactured and parts are extremely difficult to come by). They had us scheduled within a few days and spent most of a Wednesday doing the actual work. At the end of that day, we had full power back to our house again! We paid what we were quoted; the team did not nickel-and-dime us with added costs. Their work was great quality; the city inspector commented on it when he did the inspection (no joke - he took pictures of the job that Victor and team did to show newer inspectors that he was training because the work was apparently so textbook). A few days later, the crew did the EV charger installation -- quick, easy, paid-what-I-was-quoted, and everything has been working great since then. Hadn't worked with them before, but friend recommended them. I needed a higher amperage 220 V for double oven. Was a bit complex, as oven is not on any exterior walls. To quote, they were really responsive, and we sent text pictures back and forth. The owner (Don), came to my house twice. Once to walk the job, and a second time when they came to install. I literally had two technicians at house for 7 hours, and invoice was exactly to quote. I think the original quote may have been low, but they kept to it. Also, if you didn't know, electricians don't do drywall. But they kept the sections they cut, and put back in place with a wood backer, will be really easy to patch. I honestly thought they would just leave holes. Technicians were really nice and respectful, cleaned up at end of day. I'll definitely go back to them in future, and recommend to my neighbors. read more

Ballard Electric did a phenomenal job!!! We needed multiple sets of recessed lighting installed and controlled by existing switches which was a piece of cake for them to do. They also replaced an existing chandelier which was ~21 feet off the ground, requiring scaffolding and a little finnesse. I gave very minimal instructions, leaving the judgement as far as placement up to them, and these guys nailed it! The job was done in one day and was very reasonably priced. Our house now looks completely different with the updated lighting and we love it. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that needs any sort of electrical work. Had Ballard electric come out because outlets in kitchen not working. No fridge/microwave/oven. Two techs came out. Very personable. Said the Gavin outlet was tripped and seem like that was it and said bill was $145 Had to tell them to maybe check outlet at microwave because it acted unusual just before. Found loose connections so relaxed outlet and left without checking to make sure everything was right. Plugged in fridge and pop circuits. Called Frank and told me. Said I probably had a problem with my fridge. Before I went out and buy a new fridge had them come out and recheck. Bad outlet at fridge. Will not have them check any other problems. Want to repost that the Ballard team address my comments and went the extra mile. Would highly recommend for their outstanding customer satisfaction. Hate to admit it, but I have an immediate adverse reaction to working with electricians, plumbers, painters and all other sorts of home repair that are notorious for high rates, poor response and endless run-around. To say the least, the folks at Ballard Electric (and Frank, in particular) may have changed me forever. Or set a new standard by which I will measure (and expect) all other companies to meet. Needed a full panel upgrade and NeMA plug installed for an EV charger. From the first contact on Yelp, to phone call to service, responsiveness, reliability (even when they had to come back a second time to help me revise something to accommodate my new EV charger) - they were fast to help. I was told they were very busy and the first appointment was the following week - but then I get a call and they managed to come out the next day! (and I expected to pay more...and there was no additional charge! My mind was officially blown!) I'm naturally skeptical of a company that only have 4 and 5 star reviews...but this one is truly earned. If you need electrical work, stop here.
