Bulk Barn is a saviour. Buy just what you need. What a concept! Even though I'm a long-time fan of Costco which uses the opposite concept to Bulk Barn, both business models combine to complete your shopping needs and help make you less dependent on the high priced stores like Loblaws nearby. If you are walking by, a look inside is recommended. Slowly go through the aisles from front to back and see what they have for your future needs. You could be surprised! For people who love to bake home made goodies, this is the perfect spot to buy what you need. Making chocolate chip cookies? They have the chips, including different varieties of them. Check it out!

I wish they were also in the states. I love that I can get just what I need even if the tiniest amount. They sell bulk items by the weight like snacks, spices, spreads, pastas, candy, cake mix, drink mix and even dog food. They also sell regular items (non-bulk) like cake boxes, cookie cutters, drinks, storage containers, pinatas and more. I definitely recommend bulk barn.

came here to get pricing on some nuts and seed's to see how it compares to other stores that i go to. i also came to this location because my neighborhood does not have a convenient location whatsoever. this location is super small but packs a bit of a punch, you can find all of the normal stocked bulk barn items here. the service was great, staff was super friendly and accommodating for my needs and questions. I was able to get some hazelnuts and be on my way after taking photos for my research purposes. transit options are the 504 A/B King, and the 510 Spadina streetcars, both with a bit of a walk. parking options are on the street, some side streets, and some underground parking lots in the area. will come back to this diamond in the rough if in the area.

Pretty big store but not cheap

I think this is a good store to come and buy couple of spices that you need for your dish, however I noticed that the prices are VERY high. I was also looking for some healthy cereal but most of them contained canola oil or other ingredients that I do not want to see in my granola, and I could not find gluten free products. I got couple of things to try (liked their white, red and black quinoa) that actually costs a fortune! After I purchased it, I went to Costco and then I saw that I paid 3 x the price!!!! What a rip off! I have to add that this store had some good selection for chocolate chips and flours, so if you want to bake something fancy, this is the store. But you have to be rich to shop here.

    So many spices!

REDUCING PACKAGING WASTE Absolutely fell in love with this store. Rows and rows of bins and bins filled with grains, nuts, spices, beans, candy, pasta, etc.. The reduction in packaging waste is tremendous. I hope this is trending and continues to more and more urban areas!

(Shopped 09/13/2025 SA @ 12:00pm): This market was definitely on King St., but I didn't focus too…read moremuch on any fresh food offerings! It was the second to last day of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival when I finally poked into King Fresh Foodmarket for a look around and some potential snacks instead of an actual meal. I'd passed this place on several occasions while I either waited in line for a movie or rushed by to get to one. I was on the hunt for anything random and portable to snack on. Would I feel funky fresh and feast like a king after I shopped in this food market!? PURCHASE(S) Lay's Potato Chips Italian Red Meat Flavor 70g Bag ($2.99CAD): I think this was supposed to taste like meat sauce because that's what I got from it - not bad. Lay's Potato Chips Mexican Chicken Tomato Flavor 70g Bag ($2.99CAD): This simply tasted like tomato to me, and I couldn't think of a Mexican chicken tomato dish that this was to resemble. Lay's Potato Chips Spicy Crayfish Flavor 70g Bag ($2.99CAD): This reminded me of spicy shrimp chips, which I didn't mind. Muskoka Brewery Mad Tom IPA Beer 16floz Can ($4.49CAD): Dark amber color, citrusy hoppy aroma, low body, citrusy hoppy malty flavor, drying smooth finish, and citrusy hoppy aftertaste. The artwork caught my attention while I truly enjoyed this beer. Banana ($0.75CAD): I needed something healthy to eat to counteract all of the salty snacks. Reusable Bag ($0.49CAD): I needed a bag to carry my snacks, but I ended up losing it... SERVICE Aside from the lone male at the checkout counter, I didn't see anyone else, and he didn't really leave his station. No worries, I was simply casing the joint from aisle to aisle as I collected bags of chips, beer, and fruit. It was all easy-peasy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was constantly in the area all day throughout the Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. Otherwise, there were spots along the many main and surrounding streets, some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A quasi convenience store and mini-mart (not enough elements to be considered a grocery), with an impressive selection of candies, refrigerated drinks, and snack foods, that filled the shelves aisle after aisle. Outside of the customary promotional shelftalkers and standees, the rest of the place was rather rudimentary and no-nonsense with a touch of an underground bunker feel (I believed it actually was in a basement). A minimal amount of natural lighting came in through the front doors and raised windows, while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while pop music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL King Fresh Foodmarket purely surprised me with what I found inside and eventually walked away with, so I would definitely check them out again. If you knew me, you knew I loved beer, salty snacks, and sweets, and if I saw anything within these types of food that was out of the ordinary or just odd, I had to try it! The prices seemed very comparable, they had a wondrous selection of items (although I didn't recall anything freshly-made), and the service was efficient and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $16.50CAD BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
