Hubby & I are re-doing our laundry room & I wanted a new french door for it & some ship lap. I looked at HD & Lowe's & a few other places but I actually found the perfect door here. They have very good quality building materials at much better prices than the big box stores. I'm also looking for a new light fixture but I think i'm going to go with a light fixture/ceiling fan combo. Good morning. Today we were at the Pensacola store and experienced an act of racism. The cashier demanded my ID to buy a door and told me I had to stand in front of him to pay. While we were getting the ID because we had left it in the car, he rudely told my husband to move because there were other people waiting to pay. This store has a no return policy, and I don't care for that,but to that point it's marked everywhere so no surprises. Having said that most of their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, John knows his sh*t , and is just the best. When I go there generally I know exactly what I'm looking for. I'd suggest bringing your own tape measure with you to verify with your own eyes, again no returns. Over the years I've bought some amazing products from BMO and saved thousands. Its a long story but I will just keep it short. Customer service is horrible! the people there with a few exceptions need customer service training. They are rude and don't care about that business. They don't care if they sell or not. The nice gentleman from Hawaii should train them to be polite and respectful. I say He should be the manager so that He can straighten those folks who don't really want to work there. This store carries high end doors and such that are a small fraction of what you would pay aat Home Depot or Lowes. Most doors complete with frames and ready to install are $65-$100. That is until I found out I couldn't get a permit because the doors didn't have the required sticker. The staff was friendly, just be very careful you measure EVERYTHING! Bought a front door and didn't realize the door handle cut outs were drilled at 33 inches. Basically you'd be bending over to open your front door! That was a $285 lesson we learned. Regarding some of the reviews here - I have been in and around building material stores for over 20 years (all over the country)... this is one of the best you will find for clean/orderly and friendly staff. I personally love that there aren't little kids running around in the store. I have children but when I'm making major decisions for a property, this is a welcome silence for the many parents who don't control their children. Also, regarding complaints about quality - you need to absolutely look over everything THOROUGHLY, this is a discount market, not a Williams-Sonoma showroom. The prices are frankly, incredible but does require a bit of a treasure hunt at times. Lastly, it is the responsibility of the customer to know permitting rules/laws. Your lack of knowledge isn't the businesses issue. If you are paying $65 for a $1200 door - you may ask yourself, am I missing something? Should I know something. Probably is the answer. read more

They loaded the wrong one initially, came back to exchange for right one and acted as if was our fault. They were certain it was our fault, but we proved them wrong. I called today to check the availability of a door they recently had in stock. The woman that answered the phone said they didn't have anybody there that could check, I would need to come down and look myself. We were in this store 2 weeks ago and the only door they had was damaged. The young man that assisted us that day said they get trucks on Tuesday and Thursday and to call back and see if they received additional doors. The reason for my phone call today. I later explained this to the woman I spoke with today and she said she didn't know why anyone would have told us that. Could it be a thing called customer service? I called back and asked to speak with a Manager, the young lady that answered the phone wanted to know why? I explained why I was calling and she said well, the manager is going to tell you the same thing. When I asked again for a manager's name she said they had 3. One was at lunch (we were talking at 10:00AM this morning), she didn't mention the 3rd, the other was Natalie and she would probably be the one to call. I asked if Natalie had a last name and she told me no. That's all I needed to know. My husband and I are remodeling a home and have purchased several items from this store. We have always received excellent service from the guys working in the back. I can't say the same for the person that answers their business or greets their customers. If she is the first impression of this store and the customer service that you will receive, I am sure they will miss many future customers. Me included. This place really has the lowest priced building supplies. Most of their selection is higher end materials, but what they do have is very low priced. For example they have a lot of vanities in the $400-$600 range, but they are all beautiful wood and have marble tops. A lot of what they have is odds and ends. It's perfect for the home do-it-yourselfer. They had 5 boxes of really nice tile for $40. Not enough for a whole house, but if all you are doing is a bathroom it's the perfect amount. They even had a big pile of mahogany for $700. It was some of the most beautiful wood I have ever seen, ( that's what she said). If you have a home project, and are needing materials, you should definitely check here first! read more

I am so disappointed with this business. I've stopped by multiple times....bought a few items in the past and am always looking for home project materials. Today my visit was for a piece of remnant carpet for our dogs to sleep on in the garage. There was a section beside the cutter in the back of the store @ 2-1/2' wide. Just wadded up on the floor with dusty footprints on it. I went up front and asked to purchase the small remnant and was told the store would not sell it. I was told I had to buy a piece with a value of $180. Needless to say that didn't happen. Wouldn't it have been better to sell that remnant at the basic square footage price and at least make $50 ?? I went to building materials outlet in Pensacola ,FL yesterday Saturday, November 10, 2018, I arrived there around 11:45 AM. I wanted to buy some composite boards that they have in stock. My friend bought larger number of them they were 11 feet and he told me that they cut his boards into two fives, I want there and from the minute I arrived , I was faced with a terrible customer service ,I brought with me are you a Uhaul covered trailer and one of their employees came to me with an unprofessional attitude asking me that I can't block the road you need to move on and then he pointed to a remote location asking me to pull there ,this make it very difficult to get out as I have a trailer. I went inside the store and I was planning to buy 12 foot composite boards but the quality of these boards were not good. I found 16 foot boards with good quality and reasonable price. I asked them if possible to cut these boards to 12 and 4 feet , One of the employees told me how many boards do you want I told him I need to close to 55 boards. He said I can't cut that many but I can cut a few of them. I went back to the reception desk ,there was a lady working there I spoke with her and she said the store policy is to cut the wood if needed. I asked if I can talk to the manager, the manager came three minutes later ,he stated that they do not cut any wood in the store. I told him that my friend bought some words and was able to cut it in the store, and I asked the receptionist lady and said you cut the wood, he stated and a very unprofessional way that sir we do not cut wood. I drove to pensacola from Mobile with a rental trailer, I was expecting to get what I'm looking for especially after confirming my order by the phone before I travel 60 miles. I was not expecting to be faced with such an unprofessional attitude.
