The girls in the office, Amanda and Ashley, and one other girl sorry cant remember her name, forgive me please, but we're always friendly and polite and kept us updated on our order. Sailwind Construction: you get what you pay for!…read more Roughly 2 years ago I was looking for a company to remodel my mother's home in NE Pensacola. During the bid process I was told by one of the contractors to be wary of choosing the contractor with the lowest bid. According to his logic, while the cheapest contractor might still do good work, the level of micromanagement required to get quality work out of him/her would negate the savings. Unfortunately I chose not to listen to his advice and hired Sailwind. I quickly developed the opinion that Christi Colabianchi has little understanding of the methods involved in performing actual labor. Sub-contractors even pointed this out to me, and her main sub confided in me that she was overwhelmed. This, coupled with her lack of time on the job site meant there was little quality control, and just as I had been warned, constant micromanagement was required to get a semi-decent product. Beginning with quality of product, for roughly 2 months I had 2 massive holes in my ceiling from the electricians falling through. I brought this up to her and she had no idea they existed.......2 months later! Why? Because she was rarely there. Additionally, some walls weren't square, there were several issues with installed lights not working, cracked tiles in the bathroom, malfunctioning plumbing......the list goes on and on. For one 4' section of unpainted baseboard they used 4 pieced together sections of scrap. In the end she flat out refused to honor her one year warranty and blamed me for the problems. Unfortunately I had already stupidly paid her for the 4th draw, so there was no fixing the mistakes. And then there's the issue with the subs. During a deployment a neighbor called to tell me that one of the contractors working on the house had "New American Nazi" stickers on his van. You can't make up this stuff! On three occasions we were told that the painter would be there on a weekend, and we arranged to board our dogs....surprise surprise, each time they were a no-show. The house would sit idle for weeks, and Christi's answer was always "we're working the permitting process". At one point I even refused payment and started looking for another contractor, but nobody was available to finish it on timeline, so I regretfully rehired her. To prevent others from having a similar experience I recommend that you get everything in writing! Several times during the remodel Christi would make suggestions, but she was so flighty that most of them never came to fruition. When I confronted her she would say that it wasn't in the contract and it was never discussed. For those of you about to go through this process, carry a binder with you and note every change. Have them sign and date it immediately. Also if the contract is over $30K get a lawyer to review it. A lot of these companies use generic contracts with ambiguous language. For instance, the language for my completion date said by XX date it would be "reasonably completed". There's really no way to quantify "reasonably complete", and when the project drags on and on you're SOL.

Oversprayed paint on our concrete, brick, roof, roof shingles, and solar panels. Our new gate…read morewon't close after one week, fence is completely coming apart after one week, no show April 24, 2025 to come fix fence, gate, and clean up overspray on concrete, brick, and white dog door in back. Altered invoices AFTER paid in full to include $150 to remove one screw and a corner board from carport while having the ladder nearby, would have gladly paid $25 or $50 but not $150 but Leslie did this. Added another line item of paint $220. They still owe us $1150 for the overpayment which we thought was for fencing but was for the discount they gave us due to the job being around $12,000. Even though they advertise on Yelp, Nextdoor, and HOUZZ and other apps that they are a General Contractor, they are not and in Okaloosa County and the state of Florida they are NOT licensed to do siding and failed to put flashing on our new siding so insurance will not take off the "red flag" until it is done correctly. Exterior doors, structural repairs, roofing, new electrical, is not allowed in Okaloosa County. They are a nice couple at first, they want the job and the money but if you tell them something is potentially wrong or even ask questions about your project, they go into defense mode despite the evidence. We even asked Leslie if a permit was required for the fence she said no and that is correct, but a permit is required for the siding they put in and they did not pull the permit. Mr Ortiz cut a pipe in the back by the back master bedroom and bathroom and it flooded the next day for nearly one full week. We did not blame them only asked if they knew where the water might be coming from inside since the pipe in the middle of the house was disturbed. The overspray on our roof shingles and solars panels is something TIMMERMAN ROOFING, who came out to inspect, has never seen in their many years of business. A total disregard for protecting our roof and we had no idea until our neighbors brought it to our attention. Leslie refused us 3x to come clean up the overspray; they charged us for pressure washing $200 and as you can see in the photos they never did the tops of them, they are still filthy but the guys who did it before just used a ladder but Leslie charged us anyway. And they DO NOT GUARANTEE THEIR WORK/labor AS ADVERTISED and are NOT GENERAL CONTRACTORS as shown in their company photos and titled Advertisements. We do not recommend using them at all.

Roy at pinnacle cabinets and closets significantly exceeded my expectations. I had a project with a…read moretight budget and short timeline, and Roy met all objectives. I competed the quote that I received from Roy against three other companies in the area, and only one of them came close in cost. And even at that, it really wasn't that close competition, because the quality of cabinet being offered by the other vendor was not nearly close to what Roy proposed. Roy will likely require a few weeks of lead time to order your cabinets, but the quality of craftsmanship and the quality of cabinet you are getting at a significantly discounted price is well worth the wait. He beat all of the others out with regards to quality he proposed, schedule for getting it all done, and especially on the cost aspect. Hands down, I would use Roy and Pinnacle cabinets for any of my future projects.

Two of their sales representatives, Logan and John, have gone out of their way to help us get the decking material that we needed fairly urgently to complete a new home build in Santa Rosa Beach. The samples I received several months ago, the WearDeck composite deck boards from Owens-Corning, helped us decide the best color for our house and Decks and Docks happily had most of the product in stock. The additional riser pieces were shipped in for us in just a few days and delivery was done the same day to our home build. Great turnaround time and customer service.
