I hired him to do my 12x34 patio slab and it went well so I hired him for a bigger project a few days later. Each day he showed up he was asking for another 4, 5, or 6 grand. He was at the 90% mark of the $32K quote and still hadn't done the driveway yet. The dumpster company that he contracted to put the old concrete in called me and said they were putting a lien on my house because he refused to pay them after they'd hounded him. I wonder if he ever paid for the concrete delivery or will I have an additional $4,000 lien to deal with? I told him about the lien and he assured me he was taking care of it. Nope. The dumpster company thinks I'm giving them the run around, still demanding $400 on top of my incomplete job that I now have to pay someone else thousands to finish. In 29 days he was at my house just 7 days and never more than about 5 hours per trip. He removed the driveway and framed it out but then I waited weeks for the concrete. He constantly had 'relatives' with emergencies (some out of town) that required him to vanish for days on end, always right after I gave him another $5K. He's fine for small jobs but don't do anything over 12x30 or you'll be hearing the stories. The dumpster driver sent me a text where he told the dumpster company he was so broke he could only put down 3 to 4 inches of concrete instead of the 6 inches he said he was putting down. He told me several times "they all crack, just get used to it". I should have checked the BBB site for complaints because there were several. All the BBB complaints read the same: incomplete or improper jobs that he refuses to correct or refund. After seeing all the complaints here and elsewhere I doubt I'll get my $6,000 back for the work he didn't do even if I take him to court. Serial scam artist, apparently the concrete guys are not required to be licensed or bonded so there's no recourse to get satisfaction with the county/city/state and they know it. I tipped each member of his crew any time they actually worked more than a couple hours and even bought all 10 of them lunch. Can't believe this guy is still in business, he showed up late the last day when I told him not to come back that someone else was doing the rest of the job and he said "I sure wish you would've told me that before I bought this $200 worth of supplies", as if I had put him in a bad financial way somehow. That showed me he still had no awareness or understanding of how bad the situation was at all. 12 sunny cloud free days in that span without anyone showing up at all, no answer to calls or texts or explanation as to why they didn't show. Buyer beware.

I have no floors after he upsold me! The owner Cody, is very unresponsive and is full of empty promises and excuses. I hired this company, specifically the owner Cody, to pressure wash the exterior of the house and replace floors. He completed the pressure washing in one day, then suggested more repairs such as adding new doors, new baseboards, and redoing the carpet. He immediately invoiced me and sent me videos at the house. I naively believed him and sent him the money in full. Yes, I have been kicking myself ever since. After I sent the money, I have not spoken on the phone with him since. Money sent on March 27th. On March 29th I asked "How are floors coming along?" Response: "Good. Got everything pulled up and got the tile delivered today. Carpet will be delivered on Monday, having them paint at the same time is kinda stressful, they would be done tomorrow. Starting laying everything should be completed by Tuesday afternoon." The next few conversations were more suggested improvements at which I declined. Then he said the baseboards were rotten so I paid for those. April 18th- I checked and he said they are still waiting on the painting and that they are "about 2 days away from being fully completed." April 22nd- Asked for an update- "Painting just for fully done. We will be done soon." April 23rd- Asked for an update- NO RESPONSE April 25th- Asked for an update- NO RESPONSE Then I call and had to reach out to a mutual friend to get him to respond. He then said "two guys quit on me and I will be at the house later that day." Never went. The next day we had someone else go check on the property and fix some other things that we no longer trusted K&C with and his findings were absolutely TERRIBLE! THEY USED OUTDOOR CARPET! WHAT?!? (See the pictures below.) I called Cody with no response and I asked for him to call me. We scheduled a time to talk and which he replied that he was out of town for his son's birthday. MIND YOU EVERY TIME I CALLED HIM AFTER I PAID HE DID NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. He did apologize and said that it will be corrected immediately and that this is not how he does business. We were in a position where the holding costs were mounting and all we could do was be understanding and wait. I told him I understood his frustration and actually thanked him for agreeing to make it right. He then gave me excuse after excuse and literally told me he was too busy to finish the job in a timely manner. When I asked for a refund he said he would have to do a payment plan. WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK?!? This is him trying to take the easy way out! I even asked how much could you pay me now, twice within a week apart, and no response. I was so upset we paid him over $6,000. He said he would make it right and we agreed that he would go over there in one week to do it. Now, I'm getting the run around and have had enough. He only gives you excuses and no solutions. Anyone in Pensacola, Florida who is reading this- run! Cody Hunter with K&C Outdoor Services, LLC if you are reading this- DO THE RIGHT THING! I have no floors, no doors, and I am out of $6,000!! Sea Construction demanded a $16,000 down payment to build a 230" long wall X 6" high. They used an…read moreExcavator which broke a water line between my house and barn, it costed me $4,400 to repair, they refused to pay for it. The footer is not level, therefore the wall is 1/2 a foot higher on one end than on the other. The job was very poorly planned, resourced and executed. The owner clearly bit off more than he could chew. Builders used wood in an attempt to shore up the gap between the West and East side of the wall. They treated my property like a dumping ground leaving cigarette buts, packages, soda cans and food wrappers each day they came. When I politely asked them to use my trash can, they were offended. The owner removed the crew to put them on a different job, no doubt paid them with my down payment money, and abandoned my job for over three weeks. I threatened to sue him and only then he returned and had begun to build the wall again by his self (No Crew). At this point in time his quality of work was so poor I ran him off. He became so angry that he poured wet cement on my lawn, dumped crumbled hardened cement on my rock way leading to my driveway and took my sand that I had paid for. This company has no business ethics, no integrity and no customer care whatsoever so ever. I advise anyone to pass on SEA construction. They are a very bad company to do business with. Don't be their next victim.

We paid 1/2 the cost of the job 6/23/25 (original bid $2725), and date completed was 7/18/25....and this was not a big job. We have a small strip of backyard, maybe 15'x80' to be leveled with dirt and new sod placed. The workers were unreliable, they did not show up when scheduled and did not communicate until we reached out to them. They were not prepared, they dumped dirt in our backyard in the pouring down rain without tarps to protect from run off. My husband had to work the whole time they were here (and after they left) to cover the dirt with tarps and level off the ground for sod prep. One of the workers ran over our mailbox and didn't even tell my husband. I discovered it when I got home from work, he asked the workers about the mailbox, and the worker stated that he may have backed into it....too much! The extra charge of $1200 evidently was for the "miscalculation" of needed fill dirt. The dirt load they originally brought covered maybe 30% of the yard....I have pictures, that load did not cover much. Total job cost $3925.00.

He recommended installing a basin drain system as the solution, but unfortunately the work was completely ineffective. The crew dug up the parking lot and front of the house to install the drainage system, but left a huge mess behind. There were trenches and uneven areas throughout my parking lot and even extending onto my neighbor's property. The entire job felt rushed, like the priority was finishing as quickly as possible rather than making sure it was done correctly. The drainage system itself was poorly designed. The drains were not installed up against the house where the flooding and water intrusion was actually occurring, and the front of the property was not properly graded to direct water toward the drain. As a result, the system did little to solve the original issue. When I reached back out and asked James to come back and help correct the problems, his response was that they were "already barely making any money on the job." That response made it seem like the focus was more on profit than standing behind the work or making things right for the customer. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the workmanship and the customer service, and I would not recommend using this company for drainage or water intrusion issues.

Turns out this new contractor had worked for them and quit two years ago due to issues just like mine. 3. They told me they winterized the system last fall, but did not drain lines so the back flow valve burst. They refused to repair it without being paid $7500! I had to hire someone else to fix it. 4. I was told they installed the remote module in the system so I could control it with my phone from Texas, but they did not. I had to pay someone else $100 to install it. 5. I told them the controller was faulty and was running 3 times a day. I had cleared it and it did not still stay on schedule. I got two $600 water bills for two months before they would replace it. BOTTOM LINE...DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY LIE, THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND THEY OVER PROMISE AND TRY TO CHARGE YOU MoRE THAN CONTRACT PRICE! PLUS THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR WARRANTY! Trust me, that was a ton of work. Within a few days be brought them back to my home and installed them with new hinges and handles. Of course he had to prepare the cabinet shells by a deep cleaning with denatured alcohol, primed and sanded before painting with a roller and brushing when appropriate before reinstalling the doors and drawers. Mr. Jansen started this huge job at 9:30 am and finished at 7 PM. He never stopped during the job. He just went start through from beginning to the end. Awesome! I was so impressed with his work ethic that I will be hiring him again in the future for other improvements I wish to make in my home. He did the window seals in the two bathrooms free of charge.

We were really excited to find Kerby Custom Renovations. Their recommendations on line seemed almost too good to be true so we moved ahead with Kerby. Kerby did the renovation of my kitchen and laundry room and added in a pantry. They did an excellent job given that there were no drawings or blueprints for what I wanted. To complicate matters, I really wanted a new space that would be safe for me as I age in place. Kerby managers, staff and sub-contractors worked closely with me to make the kitchen/pantry/laundry of my vision into a reality. Kerby staff were excellent communicators in that they not only spoke up when they had questions but they took the time to listen to what I wanted and envisioned. They were kind and patient and helped me by making suggestions and providing alternatives, some of which I incorporated into my kitchen. The custom work they did was outstanding and the subcontractors they worked with were exceptional too. Sometimes it took longer to get the next set of workers in to continue work which extended the length of our rehab but all in all, it was totally worth the wait because of the quality of their work. Their integrity showed through with each step of the rehab process. I was also impressed with their after service care. I had 3 small items that needed to be taken care of after my final payment to Kerby. They followed up and completed all 3 items in a timely fashion.
