Ronnie has low prices but that's the end of the good news. He took 34 days to do my 18x20 driveway and a 16x22 slab. I hired him to do my 12x34 patio slab and it went well so I hired him for a bigger project a few days later. Each day he showed up he was asking for another 4, 5, or 6 grand. He was at the 90% mark of the $32K quote and still hadn't done the driveway yet. The dumpster company that he contracted to put the old concrete in called me and said they were putting a lien on my house because he refused to pay them after they'd hounded him. I wonder if he ever paid for the concrete delivery or will I have an additional $4,000 lien to deal with? I told him about the lien and he assured me he was taking care of it. Nope. The dumpster company thinks I'm giving them the run around, still demanding $400 on top of my incomplete job that I now have to pay someone else thousands to finish. In 29 days he was at my house just 7 days and never more than about 5 hours per trip. He removed the driveway and framed it out but then I waited weeks for the concrete. He constantly had 'relatives' with emergencies (some out of town) that required him to vanish for days on end, always right after I gave him another $5K. He's fine for small jobs but don't do anything over 12x30 or you'll be hearing the stories. The dumpster driver sent me a text where he told the dumpster company he was so broke he could only put down 3 to 4 inches of concrete instead of the 6 inches he said he was putting down. He told me several times "they all crack, just get used to it". I should have checked the BBB site for complaints because there were several. All the BBB complaints read the same: incomplete or improper jobs that he refuses to correct or refund. After seeing all the complaints here and elsewhere I doubt I'll get my $6,000 back for the work he didn't do even if I take him to court. Serial scam artist, apparently the concrete guys are not required to be licensed or bonded so there's no recourse to get satisfaction with the county/city/state and they know it. I tipped each member of his crew any time they actually worked more than a couple hours and even bought all 10 of them lunch. Can't believe this guy is still in business, he showed up late the last day when I told him not to come back that someone else was doing the rest of the job and he said "I sure wish you would've told me that before I bought this $200 worth of supplies", as if I had put him in a bad financial way somehow. That showed me he still had no awareness or understanding of how bad the situation was at all. 12 sunny cloud free days in that span without anyone showing up at all, no answer to calls or texts or explanation as to why they didn't show. We purchased a house that had previously had a lot of trees causing root damage to the driveway. Ronnie and his crew came out and removed the old, cracked concrete and poured new cement for us. They did an excellent job!! He was very good about communicating what and when everything was going to happen, and it was all done within a few days. They were professional in every way. Ronnie was hired to replace my driveway. At the beginning of the project, I advised that I would be leaving town on Dec 18, 2024. He started work on 13 Dec 24, and worked for three days, removing the old driveway, adding clay, and framing it. He did not return. I stayed past my set travel dateNumerous phone calls and texts were sent. He finally contacted me on 23 Dec 2024, stating his phone was left in a tow truck. When I asked when the driveway would be completed, he ghosted me again. I could never get him to call me and talk to me directly. I needed the driveway to be completed before a Celebration of Life for my Wife. She passed away unexpectedly, and I had guests coming from out of town. Ronnie was paid $9,000; all I have to show is a muddy clay drive that can't be used. I will not have a driveway to handle my guests for my Wife's Celebration of Life and I am not a happy camper. I had Ronnie pour a slab for a metal building. He poured it, and there is a 9 inch difference in elevation between the two corners. The slab is nowhere near level. I can't put a metal building on this slab, so I will have to have it completely ripped up and replaced. That's $6,000 down the drain, plus the cost of removal and replacement. read more

Ronnie Wright gave us a written quote for a new driveway and sidewalk on 11/28/23, which we accepted and he requested a down payment of more than 50% which we gave him a check. After multiple delays he finally started the concrete removal and on 12/21/23 he finally had the concrete poured. During the concrete demolition he said he needed $500 more than the quote because the concrete had wire in it(not rebar but tiny mesh wire) he said it would be harder to pick up and break-which while watching the demo he had no extra problem or time demoing the concrete. He also said he was going to put a 3 " PVC pipe under the driveway in case in the future we needed to run cable or irrigation electrics- in the final bill he charged for it but he lied because after he left the job we found the pipe lying along the side or our house. Also, during the whole process of the job he severely damaged the asphalt road in front of our house with his equipment and masses stains of leaked hydraulic and oil fluids-he tried to blame the concrete company but clearly I saw it was his equipment. Our street is privately own so the city will not fix it so our community has to do it. When we confronted Ronnie with all these things he tried to deny or blame someone else Bottom line is we were not help with Ronnie's business ethics and work. Ronnie showed up with his crew and gave me a quote. I agreed to the price and they got started immediately. They worked for an hour and Ronnie requested I pay half the cost of the entire job. He said they would have the job done in 2-3 days so I agreed. He then disappeared for 14 days and would not answer my calls, texts, or voice mails. When I finally heard back from him he said he would get the job done immediately and that it was his crews fault the job had not been finished while he was out of town. In the followings two weeks he continued to rarely answer my phone calls or text messages when he would fail to show up when he said they would be on-site. When he did answer it was nothing but excuses. In the end I got a super uneven concrete slab that is over 6 inches taller in one corner than the other. I had another contractor laser measure the slab and I will not be able to put a metal building on the slab as intended. This slab will have to be removed and completely replaced. I paid a great deal of money for terrible concrete work and customer service. Don't get swindled by Ronnie like I did. read more
