The business owner Erica gave me detailed and competitive quotes at the beginning. Saved me time and effort from bargaining. During the whole project, she was quick responding, followed every steps and organized the whole team well. I tend to keep adding or deleting terms in the middle of the projects and she was patient and understandable. The painter Daniel is an reliable expert. He made sure the working areas were well sealed before painting so after it was done my house was still clean. He touched up all the very minor parts I feel imperfect without complaining. His partner "Menu" is also a good guy and did me favors like moving my furnitures. My hardwood floors were installed by Mr. Wu and Yao. They have decades of experience in this field. Since we speak the same first language, we get along with each other well and I really learned a lot from watching and talking to them. They worked methodically and pretty fast. My second floor is uneven and I insisted nailing down my 7.5 inches planks rather than gluing down. They did their best prepare the subfloors and the final performance is super. When you step heavily on it, the rattling sound spots are little, way beyond my expectations. Btw, I didn't experience any 'bullying' or hidden costs. We hired Derick to remodel our rental home. Quotes, negotiations, and initial walkthroughs all went…read moregreat. He is extremely responsive and easy to work out details with. We appreciate that Derick is reliable and stands by his work. Working with D&E could have easily been 5 stars - pricing and communication are excellent. However, the on site manager for a few main phases of construction marred our experience. Mr. Miao led the external and internal painting of the house and did not do a good job. In addition, he was verbally aggressive (tried to bully us into doing more work), ethically questionable (wanted us to go around Derick for some materials), dismissive (or just fails to listen), and a chain smoker (but he didn't smoke inside the house). Externally, we needed the walls washed, patched, and painted. This was covered multiple times during our conversations with Derick. On the day of external painting, they washed and painted. It wasn't until we complained about the lack of patching that they went back to patch and paint again. Internally, we had three paint issues. In large areas, like the ceiling, the paint layers are uneven and in certain light, you can clearly see the uneven paint. Second, despite Derick reminding Mr. Miao that we wanted the same color walls in the kitchen as the rest of the house, he still painted it the original color. Lastly, he painted the water-based paint directly over the old oil-based paint in the bathrooms, doors, and kitchen. This resulted in peeling before the job was even over. To top it off, we added canned lights to the kitchen. The electrician had reminded Mr. Miao of this, but when Mr. Miao framed the kitchen ceiling, he placed the 2x4's where the electrician wanted the lights. The electrician didn't find out until after he opened the ceiling and then had to open up additional holes in the new ceiling to add his lights. The holes were patched up, but it's aggravating to put unnecessary holes in your new ceiling and have new the lights asymmetrically aligned. On the positive note, the job finished just a few days after the original schedule date. The delay was due to the Lunar New Year holiday weekend (and the workers took NYE off, too) and window installation was a few days late. Once they arrived, though, the doors and windows were installed quickly and cleanly. If you choose to work with D&E, make sure you don't work with Mr. Miao. Other than that, you're in good hands. For all the issues we've encountered, Derick had them fixed and has promised to correct any issues that arise.

After the installation, I brought back the remaining unused base boards and 1pc T-Mold for refund. Warehouse staff carefully inspected the T-Mold and refused to accept it. He showed me the defect and claimed we damaged it and then painted over it trying to cover up. I was shocked and called my contractor immediately and was told the damages was not done by him, he loaded this truck as is and did not use it for the job. My contractor works in floor industry for many decades and we used him multiple times. I trust his professions and honesty. Then I carefully inspected the T-Mold, the damage (a dent) is obviously not fresh and it even has factory paint over it, which was matching the paint throughout the entire T-Mold. I tried explained to their office manager and was outright rejected over and over again, he asked me to bring video as proof to show my contractor did not damage it. According to him, his warehouse workers inspect all product before loading them. When I asked for that morning's video as proof and he rejected me. My point is: When customers pickup their orders, it is not always possible for them to inspect every single piece for damages or defects, so there is a good chance that we could load up defective pieces. Conducing an honest and trust worthy business in the US is crucial to earn good reputations and return customers. I just don't see Modern Home Concepts is up to that level. I don't believe any customer would cover up their fault just for a $49.00 refund in this country. This company doesn't meet my ethical standard. I attached a photo showing the defective section, it clearly shows the factory paint over the dented part, it is obviously a factory defect.

Ramon was at the house almost every day and he made sure to check in with us throughout the process to make sure we were all on the same page. We even made a few changes right in the middle of the process, but Ramon and Jessica were always happy to work with us. They also made it very clear what modifications they could make and stay within our strict budget. Of course, we ran into a few bumps, but we are extremely happy with the way Ramon worked through any concerns or issues we had. That's huge! Its been around 3 months since I've had my floors installed by conch flooring. I think it's finally…read moretime to review. I was recommended this place by a friend because they had some nice LVP floors and i wanted the same. After visiting the location, I was given a brief explanation of the differences between the SPC and WPC floorings that were offered as well as a rundown of the different thicknesses and other details. We decided to go with the Vortis floors with a 30mil protection layer on their recommendation. They allowed us to bring some of the samples to the home in order to see what we would like while they took measurements for the quote. Joline is really knowledgeable and took the time to make sure we understood what we were getting. The install happened over about 4-5 days and they did a good job levelling, installing baseboards, and installing the floor. They even addressed some of the squeaks that i had in the floorboards before installation. The floor feels solid and has really honestly completely transformed the feeling of the house. It feels new and fresh and clean and I can't express how much I prefer them over what we had before. The pattern we chose does have a bit of repetition but once furniture goes onto the floor its basically impossible to tell. The price was slightly on the higher end for us, we had tile removal and chose a higher trim flooring. I think it was worth it in the end. I found a medium scratch on after the install and the team was quick and efficient with replacing it. Overall I had a really good experience and would recommend them strongly
