We moved from Sun Lakes to Chandler in Sept of 2014. Since we were no longer "Sun Lakes residents" {we moved ONE MILE East!} Sun Lakes Pest Control raised our rate, and the service was than "second class citizen" We dropped em after 3 years as a loyal customer and hired Bug Guardian. Only wish we found them long ago! Fantastic Company to deal with and they are always concerned of our happiness. We couldn`t be happier LoL. Haven`t seen an unwanted critter since, and our tech James is always asking if we have any concerns and always sends me a text the day before his scheduled visit to remind me, and the most knowledgeable guy I`ve dealt with in this field. I'm honestly shocked this company has any 5-star reviews. Our experience was the complete opposite of professional. We contacted them for a bug-removal quote, which their website clearly says is free. Only after they left the property did they text demanding $45. That's when things went downhill. Weeks later, the owner showed up unannounced, disturbed our tenants, then called and yelled at me for nearly 10 minutes before I even understood who he was. He then threatened to put a lien on our house.... over a frivolous $45. Based on the website versus what actually happened, it felt less like a quote and more like a pressure tactic after we chose not to move forward. The website clearly states "free quote". If professionalism, clear pricing, and basic courtesy matter to you, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I am attaching screenshots. PS, the invoice was created after the call. No real invoice was provided at the time of service or anytime shortly thereafter. 3 years I have been with this company. Never have I had a problem.....Until about three months ago. Our regular tech canceled several days due to weather. I get that, but then he calls on a day He'sHe scheduled again, an hour before he's supposed to be here, he calls & says he will not be coming because of the rain. I told him it was not raining here, but because he was a mile away and it was raining here refused to come. I was very upset and called the office and they scheduled for someone else to come out. Someone came out with a trainee and said that he apologized and that he would make sure that I was taken care of. I have my service done the first Friday or Monday of every month for three years. Never had to schedule it. Here we are on the ninth and guess what no call no show. I called today to cancel my service and spoke to somebody named Tom. As he thumbed through his book, (I could hear him turning pages) he apologize that I had not been placed on the schedule and that it was just a hiccup. And I told him that I did not want to be placed on his schedule. He got upset because he said it was just one incident. Obviously not listening to me because I had just listed off more than one incident. it's very sad because this was a really great company and our tech was a really kind man. Tom was "frustrated " apparently as he called me back to tell me (after being very rude on 1st call) & told me his secretary told me I would be placed with a "new guy". Well last month when I talked to her, someone new did come out....and I knew this person. He was not new. I he actually signed me up originally THREE YEARS AGO. So Tom calls me back and basically calls me a liar, saying his secretary told me who would be coming out. I don't have time for this. Seriously, I don't care who comes out or even what their names are. I just want somebody who is going to show up and not have to be tracked down. It's an exterminator for goodness sake's. But if you're going to talk to your customers like that, I don't see it working out well. I wasn't looking for an argument, I am just a frustrated customer who was not being listened too. They bought the company we were with and took over service. They come and spray every month - with a reminder text, very nice. But after they started I started to see more bugs, I have to tell me technician multiple times when there are ants in my lawn, or just places that he should be checking on his own. The last straw was when we had a roofer come out and noticed termite tracks on 4 of our posts on the patio, the company before always checked such things as we treated our house we prior lived in with them. They are not spending the fine to check what your house actually needs so that's why we just canceled service for a company that actually takes time to look around the house and treat what is needed not just a generic one and done. read more

We moved to AZ last Spring and wanted to protect our kiddos from Scorpions/Snakes because we live close to the mountain preserve. Tom's team does a solid job with exterior treatments. However, I cannot recommend them to "seal" your home. I should've known this was not an area of focus for Bug Guardian as they sporadically have availability on the weekends. They are responsive but DO NOT GUARANTEE THEIR WORK. If they recommend sealing your home, save the money and head to Cabo! We've seen snakes and scorpions all summer... read more

Our 17-month-old boy got stung and had a severe reaction, so we called them. After Bug Guardian started treating our home we saw a huge decline in the scorpions and I haven't seen or heard any crickets either. No more spiders or any bugs. This pest control company is actually one of the best I've had. The product, the price, and the owners are what put this company on top. First off, the chemical that they use in their spray seems to ward off bugs for good! When I first moved into my condo, I saw one or two roaches per week and that was a BIG no no for my place! I'm not paying rent for roaches, no way! Ever since Bug Guardian came out, I haven't seen ONE, and it's been almost a year. Secondly, the price is super competitive! It's the lowest I've ever had a pest control to offer me. They've really earned a customer for life, based on these two factors mentioned. But wait!! There's more... Lastly, we have the owners. They are so great! They are always happy to answer any questions you have and have even seen one of them training a technician on his first couple of days. They truly care about their business, and it shows! I must mention that there seems to be a bit of a turnover with technicians. We have been through quite a few within a year period, which doesn't really bother me too much! There was one time where a tech never showed to our place when scheduled and he insisted that he called me and my fiancée, and knocked on our door. It's very laughable because we were home the entire day with no missed calls! Now I know Sprint network is bad, but not THAT bad! ;) Needless to say, the tech no longer works there, and that was the really the only bad thing that has ever happened to me while working with Bug Guardian, and it's not even that bad! Tom & his team at Bug Guardians were able to work us in, in the short number of days we were there, and set up a Scorpion Seal, Termite inspection and regular visits according to our available schedule. I have had a bad scorpion problem at my house in the past. Tom from Bug Guardian came out to my house after I requested information on the home seal they provide. I felt at ease when he recommended doing regular treatments first to see if that would help the problem. This was nice as the the seal is a must costlier option. After 2 weeks of treatment, I did notice a decline in the amount of scorpions and other insects around my house. Since my wife is afraid of scorpions we went ahead and did the home seal. So far I have not found a scorpion in my house! read more

I called the bug guardian pest control company after practically getting eaten alive every night in our yard. We were expecting some guests over the weekend and needed to get rid the nasty flying bugs. It was so bad we got a few mosquitos in the house too. It was terrible. Anyway we called this company and spoke to a gentlemen who was able to come out and fog the entire premises of the property. The difference was amazing! I could not believe how much of the bugs they got rid of. We wasted all kinds of money buying a million different types of repellents and bug killers when we could have used bug guardian all along and not suffered through the entire summer. I actually never write posts with regards to service or my experiences but I feel I must do so now. I should start by saying I have used Bug Guardian at 2 houses for over 2 years. In fact, last year my roommate posted about how wonderful our service and technician was (in which, we received a free service as a thank you for the post). I must say however my last 2 months experience with Bug Guardian has been far from the rest. In August, I received no reminder call or even a warning that my tech I had for over a year, and felt more than comfortable with in my home, had been replaced. I was actually in my pool on a Saturday afternoon when my gate opened, dogs went running and after I got out of the pool I found a new technician spraying my backyard, and spraying my dogs while at it. I asked who he was and why no confirmation text, and I also asked if my dogs were okay to be outside, as I knew from previous services, they were not. He said, they were fine but once I put them in the house, advised me to keep them in for 30 minutes. He continued spraying the outside of my house, and left. I was hoping he was just caught off guard, as I was, and the next service would function as all of my other services with bug guardian had in the past. On Friday evening however, at 8:15 (a little late), I got the reminder text I had asked for. I spent all afternoon Saturday waiting for my technician to arrive so I could have him spray the inside of my house and show him around, in the event I wasn't home in the future. That was until he didn't show up. I never heard from anyone, as to if there was an emergency, etc. NOTHING. I called into their office Monday at 12:30 to follow up, no answer. I finally decided tonight (Thursday) after not hearing anything to leave a message requesting a call back. I did get a call back from the Owner/Manager, I am unsure. The gentleman I spoke with was far from polite and should probably get a course on common courteously and customer service. I explained to him my concerns, when I was told, my service had taken place on Saturday. I was home all day Saturday, but even verified my outdoor camera before beginning to call. I told him I was certain no one showed up and no invoice was left in my door as it had been several times in the past. I was then put on a 3-way call with my new technician who said he was sure he came but didn't have the paperwork in front of him to say what time. The solution, have him come "again" this weekend. Typically, this would have been fine but when I discussed my concerns about having my house opened to a technician who doesn't show up, lies, and isn't trust worthy, I was told I was giving an "off-vibe" and that I was making up that I had called. The Owner/Manger was certain I hadn't called, even after I offered and later sent a screenshot of the calls. When asking for a new technician, to possibly rectify this situation, as I wasn't certain the man who had serviced my house, was a good fit giving my experience. I was told, he didn't understand why I didn't understand my appointment was scheduled on a certain day of every month, and didn't understand why I wouldn't want a man who just lied about showing up at my house. I opted to cancel my service, when I was hung up on. I would advise you look elsewhere when looking for a long time service, it has been made clear, the management does not care as long as they can run your card monthly. read more

I love this company. We moved here two years ago and I'm terrified of scorpions. We found a few in the house when we moved in and they came right out and treated. Then they came and sealed the house to make sure no more got in. We were scorpion free for a year and a half but the monsoons were nasty this fall and we found a few popping up in the house again. I called and the owner himself came out not once, but twice to check the seals and make any adjustments needed....and on the same day that I called. We've had issues with scorpions, ants, and spiders, and, whenever we mention that we're seeing an increase, they'll figure out the issue and solve it. Also, if you see any other pests after their scheduled service, you simply call them and they will come out and respray, as necessary. They'll also give you pointers on how to pest proof your home. Just cancelled my service with Bug Guardian. Rude, condescending and combative owner (Tom). Don't call and ask for them to come back for service, they'll give an excuse why they're not obligated to do so...in my case because they didn't spray the inside last time so any bug found inside will have to wait until the next month. But it goes beyond that, I waited for the next time. Inside spray didn't happen, I called to notify them. We argued about technician knocking on the door instead of ringing the door bell, he questioned that the technician saw my 16yr old son outside and he didn't say anything about spraying inside..."should he have worn a clown suit and danced to get his attention" he asks. Really? That's how you talk to the customer? All came down to rude owner severely lacking customer service. Not worth my time. With the previous bug spray company, I may have called back to respray two to three times over a span of 6 years. I won't consider myself high maintenance customer. I've never received any accusations, nor any push back. This is a first. I won't recommend Bug Guardian from Tempe. read more

I met Tom, the owner, when he came into my work with a truck that had a huge scorpion on the side. Just so happens, i found a scorpion in my bedroom the night before. I started asking him questions and he was so helpful. he told me what i needed to do, IE seal all the vents in the house and spray the baseboards. My apt community only offered "sprinkling" which goes away as soon as you sweep because its residue not spray. He gave a more than reasonable price and was out within a few days. He and Gary took care of everything, even cleaned my dirty dryer vent in the sink. I cant tell you how impressed i am by their professionalism, courtesy, a promptness. Less than an hour they were finished and i feel so much better! My brother-in-law works for SOS and they were far more expensive. If you choose any other company, other than this one, your an idiot. Bug Guardian is the best!! I got stung by a scorpion last night when I sat down on my couch, and I saw it crawl under my couch after I realized what had happened. I didn't even get close to my couch after I was so freaked out. I called Bug Guardian first thing this morning, and Tom was very accommodating. Cody came to my house just two hours later and tore up my couch to find the little bugger. Cody worked damn hard to spray and powder every each of my house, and then he put my couch back together (3 pieces of a sectional that interlock). Cody went FAR above and beyond to ease my mind and make me feel comfortable in my home again. For this, I can't rate them high enough! You guys have a customer for life! read more

I have been using Bug Guardian since July of 2013 and can honestly say that I couldn't be happier with their services. I had a terrible scorpion issue inside and outside of my Gilbert home that caused my family a lot of stress and anxiety. After reading reviews of multiple pest control companies in the valley, I selected Bug Guardian. I liked the fact that I didn't have to sign up for a contract and the monthly cost was very competitive. Because they have done such a great job and it didn't take long for the scorpion issue to be resolved, I have kept the service up monthly.
