This was basically my favourite restaurant when I was a kid, I moved away and didn't go for a long time, but I just went back and it's exactly the same as I remember. They have a good variety of (very Americanized) east Asian food and some country-style American food. As a pescatarian, there's enough variety that I can almost but not quite try a little bit of everything that I want before getting full. For buffet food it's pretty good. The food mostly tastes relatively fresh, save for a few items (seaweed salad, mushroom salad, glazed banana) that tasted like they'd been sitting for a while, but nothing was bad. I tend to avoid the fruit bar, though - it seems like most of the fruit comes out of a can, and the pudding is pretty bland. Their basic sushi can be a little underwhelming, but the more complex rolls are good, and honestly all are better sushi than I'd expect from a buffet. From this visit, the dishes that I really enjoyed were the flounder with crab meat, shrimp cocktail, Japanese-style tofu, and egg custard. The staff is nice and they're very attentive with refilling drinks and taking away plates that you're done with. Some of them don't seem to speak English super well which might present a little bit of a language barrier, but nothing serious - someone I was with tried to order a drink that they didn't have and confused our waitress who didn't know what he was saying, but she called over another waitress who could understand and they sorted it out. I saw a few bowls with scrapes of food still in the corners at the buffet, and while the overall cleanliness of the place (besides the bowls) this time was okay, I've seen it looking a little dingy before. The interior design of the place is very cool - they've got a waterfall into a small koi pond, pagoda-like canopies over the salad station, a lighted floor in places, and the ceiling is painted to look like the sky. There are some elements of it that are very strange to me, though, like the glass (or plastic?) dividers that are filled with what looked like just crumpled paper, and the fish tank with absolutely nothing in it besides fish, not even pebbles in the bottom - it looked clean, but are you really supposed to keep fish in a bare tank like that? I also wish they'd do a better job of labelling the food at the buffet. Most items are labelled correctly, but there were a few with no labels or that were mixed up, or just confusing to figure out which label corresponded to which item. Anyone with any sort of dietary restriction can tell you what a headache it is to try and guess!

You really have to like some fried food for this trip. It's a buffet, I get that but the decor!!! It had a Vegas casino feel and strangely enough, I dig it! Service was quick and we were seated immediately. Our drink order was taken and although the staff was silent I noticed the efficiency. Selections were being changed over from lunch to dinner during our visit and we barely noticed. Everything was clean as much as one can expect from a buffet. Guests were expected to wear masks and use a plastic glove to handle utensils. New sushi options were being put out and everything looked fresh. Unfortunately the selections for lunch service consisted of mostly fried choices. I'm not one to turn down anything fried but it was very noticeable. This is the sole reason for the one star loss. Everything else was great. When we left I noticed the pull up menus outside. Great idea and props for the hard work.

Typical buffet good selections they also got dim sum and vegetarian choices. Best to get there as soon as they open or when they transition to dinner to take advantage of the greasy food.

Great selection of food for everyone's taste. Gives a 10% discount for seniors. Service cleans table promptly and refills drink as needed.

Worst Experience ever! Food was ok. Service was nonexistent and staff members were incredibly rude for no apparent reason.

The Royal Indian Bar & Grill - Left over chicken tikka masala and basmati rice

I'm visiting my family in Vestal, and chose Royal Indian for our dinner out mostly because I saw…read morethey had soya chaap on the menu, which I love but can't find on the menu at any restaurants where I'm currently living. We ordered takeout from them a few years ago during COVID, but this was our first time dining in. The restaurant was tidy and I liked their music (I think mostly older Bollywood music), but there was an alarm in the kitchen that was beeping continuously the entire time we were there, and since we were sitting near the kitchen entrance it felt like it was right in my ear, which was a little irritating. The waiter was very polite though, which made it a pleasant experience being there. I ordered the soya vindaloo, had a bit of vegetable biryani, and we got a bread basket for the table which included plain and garlic naans, onion kulcha, and roti. The soya vindaloo was okay. I don't want to say it was bland, but it was less intense than I was expecting. I ordered it with medium spice and I wonder if it would've been better at "hot" or even "very hot". I would've described the spice level that I got as medium-mild. The veggie biryani was tasty, but oily for my taste. This dish was ordered mild, but there was enough depth and warmth in the other spices of the dish that I didn't miss the heat. There were lots of vegetables in the dish that were cooked perfectly to provide a little texture and enhance the flavour of the rice. The breads were great. They were all also a little more buttery than I usually prefer but were cooked so well, and the naans were just thick enough to be fluffy. The onion kulcha had a great flavour with lots of slightly caramelized onion. I got kheer from dessert which I loved. Lots of cardamom, but not overpowering, and perfect texture - not watery. I remember that when we got takeout here, I ordered curry kofta, peshawari naan, gajar ka halwa, and plain lassi. I don't remember the naan at all, but I remember I really enjoyed the kofta, lassi, and naan. I actually remember the gajar ka halva so well because it was so good that I was tempted to order it again when we visited this time even though I ultimately decided to try something different. When we picked up, they apparently never got our order because of some weirdness with the online platform (I assume this is now resolved because their current online ordering uses a different site) so they had to start it when we arrived, but they were very hospitable to us while we waited, letting us sit in a booth and bringing water. I wouldn't put it among the best Indian restaurants I've been to, and I even think there's better in the Binghamton area, but some things do stand out as particularly good, so I'd be happy to come here again, and would just order spicier next time.

They are located in a strip mall close to Binghamton University campus area with relatively good…read moreparking . They serve cooked varieties of vegetarian and non vegetarian food . Have good service as food is cooked after it is ordered with spice level mild medium or hot . Nice lighting not to bright yet makes you feel comfortable.
