The meal was accompanied by a rice/cabbage portion which was "to die for". All I have to say is that I could not stop savouring the amazing flavours of everything. The grandmother who prepares much of the food gave me a sample of ackee, a Jamaican fruit along with some luscious mixture of cod, along with a nice portion of bread fruit! Accompanying me were friends from Nova Scotia, one being a lady friend who was born in Jamaica. She had only excellent things to say about the meal. The interior of the restaurant was minimalistic, but very tastefully decorated with some neon lights, giving it a very cozy but high-tech ambience. In the future, I would like to try the chicken in brown sauce, which is pulled chicken simmered for hours in a brown sauce, imparting a very savoury flavor. I had the opportunity to try the pulled chicken from the plate of one of my friends, and was very , highly impressed. As I said before, I really couldn't stop eating a lot of the food once I started. That doesn't always happen in many places where I dying. I definitely will be coming back to this wonderful restaurant, and enjoyed the very warm greeting and conversation that I received from the proprietors. They had chocolate chip and peanut butter butterfinger, I went with the latter. Everything was extremely flavorful! The sauces were out of this world. They had a nice spice on them. Not a spice that sets your mouth on fire, but spice that is flavorful and enhances everything else on the plate. The fried shrimp was super crispy and the cornmeal breading was perfectly seasoned. My only complaint is the preparation of the shrimp. The shrimp are prepared with their tails on, which made it difficult to eat. We had to dig through the sauces and toppings to find each shrimp and pull the tails off . I learned the owner makes his own kimchi, which is made using more spices and vegetables and less fish. He allowed me to sample some, and I will be dreaming about this kimchi tonight! I will definitely be coming back to try their rotating specials menu, and grab some more kimchi!

Everyone sits together at one table. All meals are gluten free and BYOB, so feel free to bring wine to share or beverages for yourself. The meal was thoughtful and vegetable forward. There's nothing like this in Buffalo, but lots of places serving food like this in bigger cities - Chicago, Philadelphia, NYC, LA. Do yourself a favor and let Chef Claire wow you with vegetables and other plant-based foods where the animal products, if any, just play a supporting role. Eat better.

Once we found Cafe Bewilderment, I was, in fact, bewildered. It's beautiful, it's wild, and it's a place I already know I'll want to return to again and again. The setup is simple: order at the counter, grab your table marker (a very tiny tree stump - how fun is that?), and your food is brought out to you. All of the employees were friendly and the gentleman at the register helped me decide between the Lox Sandwich and the Hot Honey Burrata. He recommended the lox so I went with that. The Lox Sandwich was more of a lox toast than a sandwich, but whatever it was delicious and surprisingly filling. My mom ordered the Bewild BLT and ended up taking half of it home, so I'd say hers was also filling. To drink, I ordered a hot latte with lavender and cardamom. It was so, so good, and the presentation was chef's kiss. Honestly, though, the decor is mesmerizing. Everywhere you look there's something interesting to admire - even the bathroom. This is quite the meal with a large portion of rice in the main dish and five spring rolls. It was delicious from start to finish. Each dish came with an extra sauce to use or dip into. The spring rolls were crispy and full of flavor. The pad ka pow was a perfect balance of savory flavor with the right amount of spice. I should have asked to get shrimp with it this time, but that will happen when I go back next time. The parking at Chandler Street can be a little tough but I found a spot which was nice. The building is full of businesses so it is a nice place to be when you're hungry. Tiny Thai is one of my new favorite places to check out in the city and if you're ever over near the Westside, you should too!

I tend to drop by to purchase snacks, sweet-treats, and frozen items for my lunches at work. Otherwise, I pick up their homemade dinners in the freezer case - keeping stocked up for those busy days when I have no time to cook. There are so many excellent choices to suit any mood. Once you stop in, you'll find yourself coming back again and again. Now this is the ONLY place I buy my spices and all my friends have become customers!
